Previously on Neighbours
- Alistair kissing Nate but denying that he's gay.
- Mark knocking back Paige's advances.
- Paige telling Tyler that she's had enough of everything including their fake relationship.
- Naomi informing Paul about her terms.
- Jimmy raving to his mum what a great grandfather Paul is.
- Amy returning the things Paul bought for Jimmy and informing him he's off the babysitting list.
Penthouse suite
With Naomi's help, Paul accepts that he went overboard buying the stuff for Jimmy after he instructed her to take all the stuff back for a refund. He then tells her about Amy's babysitting ban.
Harold's Store
Paige gives Jayden short shrift after he starts asking about how the well enquiries are going when she delivers him his milkshake.
Mark enters the store and she jokes with him if Aaron can provide the entertainment for her 21st! He's not amused but does agree to come along to her party.
Number 30
Sonya tries to reason with Amy that Paul is new to being a grandfather (hence why he went overboard) but she thinks that because he's a responsible adult he should have known how to behave. Amy's surprised to see both Sonya and Toadie sticking up for Paul (that he'll learn to be a grandfather by spending time with Jimmy) but they explain that they aren't taking sides, just trying to prevent her giving up on Paul prematurely.
AMY: I don't think he's ever going to change and I really don't want Jimmy to get hurt so I'm done.
Number 28
Nate isn't having much success on the dating scene as he tells Susan about another disaster of a night and that the only person to have shown any interest in him is a "public schoolboy snob who's trapped in the closet." He's not exactly complimentary about Aaron either and heads off to his room while Susan discusses weddings with an ex-pupil (Coco) who's asked her to be their celebrant.
Harold's Store
Someone is seriously stalking Paige at the store (Jayden) and he watches through the hatch as she gives Tyler money. As they were talking, he too gets an invite to her party but just as a 'mate'.
Number 28
As they wrap up the wedding planning session, Nate comes out of his room to chat to Coco/Susan. Coco is raving on and on about her fiancé to them but they look extremely shocked after she shows a picture of Mr Husband-to-be to them.
Number 30
Naomi comes round to beg Amy to let Paul maintain contact with Jimmy but isn't making any headway at all and in fact ends up getting the full force of Amy's rant about her being a "happy little home-wrecker."
Number 28
We find out that Coco's fiancé is none other than the guy who kissed Nate - Alistair! Nate wants them to do/say something to Coco but Susan is reluctant as they don't know all the facts.
NATE: He kissed me, what else is there to know?
SUSAN: True. Marriage is supposed to be based on honesty and respect.
NATE: Her fiancé can't be too respectful if he's cracking onto me.
Susan now thinks that perhaps Coco is she's okay with it... then admits she knows its wishful thinking. Nate thinks that if Alistair can't admit it to himself there is no way he'd tell someone else. It dawns on Susan that she can't officiate at the ceremony so goes to call Coco and give her the news.
Ramsay Street
Sonya rushes after Naomi in an attempt to explain to her the reason behind Amy's outburst.
SONYA: I wasn't trying to badmouth you but I'm not going to lie either.
NAOMI: I'm not the only person in the world who has messed up alright. Everyone is ashamed of something... apart from the perfect Amy I'd imagine!
SONYA: She sees things in black and white.
NAOMI: The world is in colour Sonya!
Naomi then adds that she was only trying to help Paul and Sonya admit that Amy took a hard line before suggesting that they both "work together to help Amy see things differently."
NAOMI: Us like a team?
SONYA: Yes. I know we've had our issues in the past but I think we're both big enough to go beyond them. And we want the same thing, we want Paul and Amy to connect.
Naomi doesn't think Amy is for changing but Sonya thinks it's because she's scared of getting hurt, that both she/Jimmy will simply be flavours of the month. Naomi doesn't think that because Paul's wanted to look for her for years and think that there is a way to prove it.
Lassiters Complex
Jayden has now moved onto stalking Tyler as he tries to drop off the money.
Number 28
Coco is back to hear Susan say she can't be their celebrant however refuses to say exactly why. "I want you," Coco tells her and Susan suggests that she needs to talk to Alistair "and just make sure that you both want the same things." Coco wants to know why Susan is questioning her relationship so she's forced to admit that she recognises Alistair from the photo "and based on what I know, I don't feel comfortable officiating at the ceremony." "You know him?!" Coco asks and Susan admits "not really" but refuses to go into more detail and instead urges her to talk to Alistair.
Harold's Store
Mark manages to take Paige's mind away from a troublesome oven door that won't close by asking what she'd like for her birthday. After initially replying that he doesn't have to get her anything, she agrees to have a think and let him know and Mark volunteers to look at the oven because he's "pretty good with my hands."
Meanwhile after joining Amy at her table, Sonya commences the operation to convince Amy to change her mind by suggesting that she should give Paul another go. Amy's reluctant to do so because she doesn't think Paul can change. "Yes they can," Sonya says then explains to Amy that she's a recovering addict. Amy is somewhat stunned at this revelation but doesn't think it's the same thing as addition is a disease.
SONYA: I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can't judge people solely on what they used to be.
AMY: Look, believe me I don't want to take Jimmy's grandfather away from him but I can't trust that Paul will stick around. You know all these years and he's never cared before.
"He has," Sonya tells her than takes the drawing Paul kept of Amy's out of her bag to show her, the one that Naomi found.
Garage
Stalker Jayden has followed Tyler to the garage and lurks in the phone booth watching as Tyler eventually makes the money drop. He then approaches Tyler to ask about the drop off but isn't getting anything out of him.
JAYDEN: I know you and Paige are up to something.
TYLER: You're really starting to annoy me.
JAYDEN: Just a friendly chat right?
"Yes," Tyler replies before grabbing Jayden by his shirt lapels to add that he's not very happy and for Jayden to "beat it before I make you!"
Penthouse suite
Paul asks Amy where she got the drawing from and she replies Sonya because "she seemed to think I was too hard on you." Paul asks what she thinks and Amy admits that she doesn't know. She then admits that she doesn't remember drawing the picture but does remember really wanting him to visit her in New Zealand that Christmas and that he never wrote back to her. Paul apologises then tries to convince her that he isn't the same person that he was then.
Amy concedes to letting Paul see Jimmy once a week after school as long as he follows her rules! He's so over the moon at the news that he readily agrees to those terms.
AMY: He deserves to have a grandfather.
PAUL: Thank you.
AMY: And this isn't for you, you know, this is for Jimmy. You know he's the best thing that's ever happened to me so just don't wreck it. And no more spoiling him, he needs to learn the value of possessions.
PAUL: I understand. I just want to make things easier for you both.
She suggest that if he wants to do that, then he can put away his credit card.
Harold's Store
As she enters the store, Coco leaves a voicemail for Alistair to urgently call her. She then spots Nate at the counter and asks if he knows why Susan's pulled out of officiating at her wedding. "I really don't want to be involved," he tells her and she asks "in what?!"
COCO: I don't get it. Alistair and I are great together, people get jealous of how perfect we are.
NATE: Have you talked to him?
"Not yet," she replies before asking Nate if he's met Alistair. "Once or twice," he replies before she demands to know what this big secret is. "I have the right to know," she protests.
NATE: Your fiancé kissed me.
Coco looks absolutely gobsmacked at what she's just heard.
Penthouse suite
After returning from doing Paul's errands, Naomi initially thinks that he is off with her because of her interference in his family matters, so is relieved to discover that her plan has worked and Amy has restored his contact with Jimmy. "I figured there was nothing to lose by giving her that picture," she admits and he wonders how she knew he still had it.
NAOMI: I found it when I was...
PAUL: When you were what?
NAOMI: Looking for... sticky notes. Yes, let's not get caught up in who rifled through who's drawers alright, the important thing to remember is the outcome!
PAUL: Mmm. How is it that I want to throttle you and kiss you at the same time?
NAOMI: It's a skill that I've cultivated over the years!
"So you're not mad at me?" she hesitantly asks and he reminds her of their agreement... which she broke.
NAOMI: So what does that mean?
PAUL: It means it still stands... oh and I'm going to revoke the third term too.
NAOMI: About interfering with your family?
PAUL: Yes for two reasons - one because clearly you're going to continue to ignore it and secondly if it wasn't for your interference I wouldn't have Jimmy and Amy back in my life, so thank you.
"Well I'm just glad that it worked out for everyone," she comments before Paul pulls her in for a kiss. He suggests they go out for dinner but she tells him to pick her up in an hour as she's going home to change first!
Harold's Store
"Isn't it past your bedtime?!" Paige asks when she spots Jayden entering the store. "Pillow talk, I like it," he replies and doesn't think she will report him to the police for stalking her because he knows what she is up to. "And what exactly might that be?" she asks and all Jayden can reply with is that he knows she/Tyler are up to something dodgy. "I saw the money, I saw the drop," he adds but her reply is that he saw nothing. He then suggests that perhaps he should go have a chat with Mark at the police station and after a moment's pause is told to name his price for keeping quiet.
JAYDEN: Chill out, I'm not going to dish on a friend. You are my friend right?
PAIGE: Sure, whatever.
JAYDEN: How good a friend?
PAIGE: Best friends for life! Happy?
JAYDEN: Not quite. I was hoping we could be a bit closer... actually a lot closer but if you're not up for it then I'll blab. You're choice babe!
Unmissable drama
- Paige asking for a re- negotiation of the terms with Jayden.
- Alistair confronting Susan about the lies she is telling.
- Arguments over preparing for the fact Amber's baby has CDH.
