Ramsay Street
On returning from a bike ride, Nate tells Susan about his disastrous date and the run in with Alistair and that he kissed him! She can't believe it either and wonders if he is serious. Nate isn't sure but admits that it's messing with his head so she warns him off Alistair and suggests he moves on, putting what happened down to "weirdo behaviour."
Number 30
Sonya and Toadie have slept in but their new lodger has been up since the crack of dawn it would appear doing her (and Jimmy's) laundry, making pancakes and feeding Nell! Amy forces them to take the rent money after Toadie suggested it could wait until she'd been paid.
Harold's Store
Laruen is a tad melancholy after reading a card from Lou (he's thinking about her on what would have been her wedding anniversary) but doesn't tell Paige (and Robin) what the note actually said before she joins Robin to look at more of his designs.
Alistair is relived to run into Nate to explain about last night and admits that he's a jerk who turns into "a turbo idiot when I'm drunk." Nate questions if he was drunk and Alistair tries to deny that "he's that type of guy." He then claims to not remember what happened... so decides to apologise for everything including if he did kiss Nate. Nate reassures him he isn't going to be broadcasting what happened. Alistair then asks if Nate can help get the 'cranky granny' video taken down as hates what he did and that everyone can see it given its gone viral. "I'll see what I can do," Nate tells a very grateful Alistair.
Ramsay Street
Amy arrives in the nick of time to help Kyle load up the Ute and points out that he's not properly dressed (wearing thongs/flip flops rather than work boots) and has to remind him to go get his boots before they can head off.
Kyle has an excuse for being forgetful - he was up half the night on a video call with Georgia.
The Waterhole
"He's in the closet," Nate tells Susan as he makes her a coffee following the chat with Alistair earlier. She warns him to be careful reminding him that he's seen Alistair's ugly side already.
After catching Terese/Brad in the bar, Paige discovers why Lauren was quiet this morning after Terese worked out that today would have been her wedding anniversary.
Harold's Store
Lauren is looking through more of Robin's designs for the Lassiters logo but nothing is really appealing to her. Robin is happy with the help she's given him and suggest going out for dinner as a thank you. Lauren isn't too sure if his invitation is a date or not and he confirms that it is a date and thinks he'll regret it if he doesn't ask (although he does acknowledge that she's still getting over Matt's death). Lauren turns down the invite and while Robin thinks it should then be business as usual, she calls a halt to their work. Robin thanks her for her work and when he goes to give her a farewell kiss, she stops him.
Dial-A-Kyle
First day on the job and Kyle/Amy are already at loggerheads over her wanting to use more expensive wood for the council job, so he lays down the law to her before leaving to meet with the council.
The Waterhole
Lauren consults Brad on turning a spare office into a mini-gym but he stops the work conversation to talk about them instead as he's worried. Both want to work together to repair their marriage but Brad admits that he still feels honoured to uphold Matt's request. "I know you do," Terese concedes and admits that Matt's death brought up her insecurities and confesses to him that perhaps there was some sort of sub-conscious agenda in setting Lauren up with Robin.
TERESE: I couldn't bear to lose you.
BRAD: We both made our fair share of mistakes, the question is where do we go from here?
Alistair comes into the bar to see if Nate's been able to take down the video but he hasn't. Nate is about to take a break and invites Alistair to join him and when he shows hesitant signs, reminds Alistair that after what happened last night he owes him.
Number 30
As she enters the house, Sonya is surprised to see her husband home - he has used a couple of spare hours to come home and do a load of ironing and tidy the house up because he's embarrassed at being shown up by Amy earlier. They then come across a 'to do' list Amy has drawn up and are more than relived not to be in her shoes and agree to not try and keep up with her like wearing clothes that have a few wrinkles in them.
Dial-A-Kyle
Kyle returns from his council meeting with Councillor Trevor McCann and does the intros with Amy. He's peeved at his employee for ignoring his instructions over which wood to use and tries to show her up to Trevor but she's got him onside over the green credentials of using the more expensive wood and Kyle is told to cut costs elsewhere. While Trevor takes a call, Kyle reminds Amy that he's the boss and is so frustrated that he can't talk more to her about it and instead makes his way to the office.
Harold's Store
Paige is surprised to see her mum in the store as she should have been out with Robin but Lauren explains that she called it off. Its Lauren's turn to them be surprised when Paige admits she knows why she called it off and reassures her mum that she isn't a horrible wife for forgetting her anniversary (until she got the card from Lou). Paige wants her mum to get in contact with Robin as she was enjoying helping out, so she's forced to tell her about him asking her out.
LAUREN: You and Brad were right all along and I know I told you I could handle it but what I couldn't handle was for the tiniest, briefest moment it felt good to be wanted, to feel attracted to someone then I remembered I just buried my husband.
Paige then pulls her mum in for a much needed hug.
Number 30
Amy returns home at a slightly 'inappropriate' moment as Sonya/Toadie are having some 'alone time' but is told to stay since she leaves here (plus they need to remember they've a housemate!) and Toadie can't get back to work quickly enough!
Sonya asks how her first day is going and Amy thinks it's only a matter of time before Kyle sacks her (well asks her not to return since she's a casual) and tells her why. The advice Sonya gives is to apologise to Kyle as he's a reasonable guy adding that it beats having to get a new job.
The Waterhole
Nate tells Alistair about his experience of being gay and being in the army - the army only cares if someone is a good soldier plus he was up front about it from the start so didn't give them a chance to judge him or if they did, then they were shut down quickly.
Alistair is still in major denial over what happened or that he is gay since he's in a very happy relationship (with a woman) and tells Nate to keep his number when he tried to pass it to him in case he wanted to talk.
Paige comes into the bar and spots her dad. She asks that he goes to see her mum as she needs a mate to talk to after telling him about the move Robin made. Brad is extremely hesitant to do anything as he's trying to sort things out with Terese and Paige literally begs him to help.
Dial-A-Kyle
Amy is back and begins with an apology for what she did, explaining that she's not used to working for someone and the bottom line is she can't afford to lose the job. Kyle apologises for snapping at her (he's tired and missing Georgia) but when he mentions to her about how tough being a single mum is, she takes the hump at everyone assuming that! "You just told me that it was," he tries to remind her and she concedes that it's better than being in a failed marriage and has a great set up, just her and Jimmy, and doesn't need anyone feeling sorry for her!
Lassiters Complex
Down a side alley, Lauren unloads all on Brad. She thinks she's let Matt down as he wouldn't have thought twice at looking at someone else if the positions had been reversed. "Matt deserves better," she tells him and Lauren seems annoyed by him commenting that perhaps they don't know people as well as they think.
LAUREN: Brad, what are you telling me?
BRAD: What do you mean?
LAUREN: At least have the decency to be honest with me!
BRAD: Matt... he wasn't as pure and innocent as you think. He was tempted by Sharon Canning.
LAUREN: That? I know that, he told me that, he sent her away.
BRAD: The first time.
LAUREN: No, he was absolutely loyal.
BRAD: The second time he didn't reject her and he ended up in her hotel room.
LAUREN: ...
Unmissable drama
