- An angry Bailey impersonates a cop with Matt's badge, then lashes out at his family
- Lou suggests Bailey should move back to Queensland with him
- Paige tells Tyler she saw him checking out cars to steal, but he insists it's one job
- Bailey steals the already stolen car that Joey left outside the garage for Tyler to work on
- Paige tells Tyler that Bailey took the car
- Michelle tells Tyler and Paige they have a week to get £8K to compensate her, or else…
Paige is giving Tyler a hard time about his involvement in the stolen car operation. He explains he's been working for Michelle – and admits that Stubbsy, the new garage owner, is merely a cover for Dennis Dimato. Tyler warns that Michelle is a ‘serious player', and says he and Paige need to steal a car for her as recompense.
PAIGE: Oh no. This is your mess, not mine!
TYLER: Guess we'll just have to go to the cops.
PAIGE: No, you can't!
TYLER: It's the only other option.
PAIGE: Right. I see you've learned a few things from your psycho mates.
TYLER: I'm not like them. Paige, I need your help.
PAIGE: I am not stealing a car. There has to be another way. Just tell me everything – right from the beginning.
Lou is telling Lauren about his plans to move back to Queensland. He says he's been thinking about it for a while, since he wants to see more of Guy, Lauren's brother.
LAUREN: But you will still visit us a couple of times a year?
LOU: That is a promise.
Lou then announces that he thinks it might help Bailey to go with him. Lauren objects, saying Bailey needs her. But Lou shows her the letter Bailey opened, detailing the payout from Matt's pension scheme for over $600,000. He says it was just another reminder for Bailey of the family's loss, which is why he didn't come home last night. Lou doesn't tell Lauren about the car theft, however.
LOU: You don't need to know the details, but we've got to get him out of here, before he does something really stupid. Lauren, the boy needs space to grieve. He's got to go somewhere where he feels he doesn't have to lash out, and up in Queensland he'll have me and Kathy. Not to mention Guy and a lot of cousins.
LAUREN: Yeah, I suppose you could be right. A couple of weeks away couldn't hurt, could it?
LOU: Or longer, depending how he goes. Darling, I know this sounds drastic. But this is about what Bailey needs. So think about it, please – for his sake.
In the kitchen, Daniel is giving Amber a shoulder massage, and says she feels tense. She admits she fought with Josh, having seen him kissing Danni. Daniel's appalled at Josh's insensitivity, and wants to go and talk to him. But Amber tells Daniel to stay out of it, saying they should forget about it and move on.
Paige is in disbelief that Tyler is so deeply involved in Dimato's car theft scheme. She asks if he stole another vehicle after scoping out Danni's car on the day Matt died. He explains he was in Dimato's debt after he gave back Imogen's car, Hermione. Paige retorts that that doesn't make it right.
PAIGE: I am so glad my sister lost interest in you.
TYLER: What, like you did?
Paige says that she wants nothing to do with this, or Tyler, ever again, and marches out. Tyler looks worried.
Lauren expresses her reservations to Brad about Bailey leaving for Queensland, saying she feels like it's her job to look after him while he's grieving, and that even considering it makes her feel like a bad mum. But Brad says he agrees with Lou – and would probably let Bailey go if he were in Lauren's shoes.
LAUREN: Yeah, but the idea of him being so far away – it physically hurts. It's bad enough with Mason, but Bailey – he's my baby.
BRAD: Lauren, he's practically an adult.
LAUREN: No. He's my baby.
Daniel confronts Josh about whether he's seeing Danni. Josh says it's none of Daniel's business, but Daniel's in an unusually combative mood – and replies that it is his business when it's upsetting his fiancée.
JOSH: Amber. She has a name – or do you just like rubbing it in my face?
DANIEL: This coming from the person making out with the woman who killed her dad, in front of her.
JOSH: Just leave me alone.
DANIEL: No, no. Not until you understand a few things. Like it or not, Amber and I are together and we are having a baby. So I'm gonna do whatever it takes to protect her.
JOSH: I'm not trying to hurt her; I'm just trying to move on with my life.
DANIEL: Good. Go for it. But whatever you do, you keep it out of Amber's face. Got it?
Bailey comes to talk to Lauren about the idea of moving to Queensland.
BAILEY: I just can't be here anymore, Mum; it's too hard.
Bailey says everything here reminds him of Matt – he just wants to be able to forget it all for a while. Lauren's concerned that if it doesn't work, she won't be there to look after him. But Bailey says he'll have Lou, Kathy and Guy to help him through it.
LAUREN: Doesn't help me, though, does it? But then it isn't about me, is it?
BAILEY: Look, I know I haven't really acted like it lately, but you can trust me, Mum. This will help.
LAUREN: I know. Which is why I'm letting you go. I just want to see you happy again.
BAILEY: Thank you, Mum. Thank you so much.
They hug, and Lauren wipes away her tears.
Later, Lauren is sitting on the back porch. Lou comes out, and tells her she made the right choice. She says she's okay with Lou going too, as long as he keeps visiting. He says he will; he wouldn't have changed this recent time living with them for them, and if ever she needs him, he'll fly straight back here. He goes off to organise the plane tickets.
Back indoors, Bailey tells Amber and Paige that he's going to live interstate. Amber is upset, saying he'll miss out on being an uncle. But Bailey says he's struggling, and needs this move.
AMBER: But I don't want you to go. And neither does Paige, right? Right?
PAIGE: Of course I want Bailey to stick around.
PAIGE: But even more so, I want him to be okay again. Sometimes all we need is a fresh start.
AMBER: Yeah, but…
LAUREN: Amber. He needs this.
AMBER: I'm really gonna miss you.
Amber hugs Bailey tearfully.
BAILEY: I'm gonna miss you too.
An also- tearful Lauren rushes off to organise a send- off party, as Amber hugs Bailey again.
In the back garden, Lou is with Karl and Toadie. Lou thanks Toadie, who has spoken to the police and got them to drop the police impersonation charges against Bailey.
KARL: I can't believe that you're actually leaving.
LOU: Oh, I'll be back soon enough. You know me – citizen of the world.
KARL: Yeah, but you're leaving behind so many good friends.
Toadie points to Susan, who's just arriving.
TOADIE: Yeah – life- saving friends.
LOU: Don't remind me. I'm just lucky Susan's handy with a pen. Unlike her husband.
Sheila then shows up, having heard that Lou is leaving, and says she has just popped in ‘to make sure he's going'! Lou then gives her a farewell gift – it's a framed photo of him!
SHEILA: Oh, I have just the spot for that! On the dartboard at The Waterhole.
LOU: Haha. You can hide it all you like, but I know you're going to miss me.
SHEILA: Not if I aim properly!
LOU: You know, after all we've been through, I was sort of hoping for a little farewell gift from you, too.
SHEILA: Oh! Well maybe I have got something for you.
She grabs him and kisses him on the lips! Lou looks flabbergasted!
Back indoors, Paige, Amber, Bailey and Daniel are in the kitchen preparing food. Bailey apologises Daniel for the way he treated him recently. Daniel says he didn't take it personally.
DANIEL: I love you.
BAILEY: I love you too, man.
They hug it out. Paige asks if Bailey's sorted out a place at the school in Queensland – and says if anyone gives him trouble there, he can always give them a thump!
BAILEY: I'm going to Queensland, not juvie!
AMBER: Just as well, you wouldn't last a week.
Josh turns up, and also gives Bailey a goodbye hug – he's also bought him a present (it looks like a sports watch), to help with his future astronaut training. Amber and Daniel look awkward at Josh's presence, but Bailey insists he stay for a drink.
Paige picks up her phone, and finds she's been sent a video. It's CCTV footage from the garage, of Bailey stealing the car.
Paige confronts Tyler, demanding to know why he gave Michelle her phone number. He insists he didn't, leading Paige to wonder how she got it. She shows Tyler the video, and they both look up uncertainly at the CCTV camera.
PAIGE: Is she watching us right now?
TYLER: It's possible.
Paige says she doesn't want to steal a car, but Tyler says he knows how to get away with it – and that it's only one job. Paige is sceptical, reminding Tyler that ‘one job' was how he first got involved with the crooks.
TYLER: Look – if we just do it, and be smart about it, Bailey will be fine.
PAIGE: There's got to be another way to get this money.
TYLER: Do you have eight grand in savings? Taking this car is the only option.
Paige tells him they'll go to jail if they get caught.
Josh, Daniel, Amber, Lauren, Susan, Karl, Lou, Sheila, Toadie and Bailey are all gathered for the farewell party. For some reason, Susan is making a speech.
SUSAN: It has been my privilege to know Bailey for the last few years, and he's always shown himself to be a kind, and intelligent, and driven young man. And Lauren, I know how hard it is to see your babies leave home. But from the moment Bailey arrived on Ramsay Street, it was as though he'd always been here. So I have no doubt he'll do brilliantly – whether he goes to Queensland, or hopefully, one day, the stars.
ALL: Hear, hear!
KARL: Now, Lou on the other hand…
LOU: No farewell speeches for me. It's not my swansong.
KARL: Ooh, speaking of which, I've written a song for this occasion!
Everyone groans, and Karl says he's joking.
TOADIE: It's fair to say that Lou is a man of many talents. You have been Erinsborough's mayor, local radio DJ, used car salesman, philanthropist…
KARL: And is there anything he hasn't tried to flog off to his friends and neighbours?
TOADIE: Yeah, like padded underwear!
LOU: That design was ahead of its time!
KARL: Aquatic- themed toilet seats…
The list continues, and Karl says they'll miss the money- making schemes as much as they'll miss Lou himself.
TOADIE: Not quite.
LOU: Oh, come on, you're making me blush. Please continue.
KARL: It'll be my pleasure. You're one of a kind, Lou. You're always there with a joke or a kind word, lending a hand. I'm very proud to count you among my dearest friends.
LOU: Thanks, mate.
Lauren adds that Lou has been an amazing support to her and the kids through a difficult time.
LAUREN: You've been just incredible, and that says a lot about the kind of man you are.
He hugs and kisses her.
TOADIE: We're gonna miss you, sunshine!
Toadie imitates Lou's trademark laugh, and raises a toast.
TOADIE: To Bailey and Lou!
ALL: Bailey and Lou!
Lou does the laugh himself!
The Turner family are loading up a taxi, as Paige arrives in time to say goodbye.
BAILEY: I thought you were ditching me!
PAIGE: After all the effort I put into straightening you out? I don't think so.
They hug, and Bailey thanks her.
LAUREN: It gets pretty cold up there, so have you packed something warm?
BAILEY: Yes, Mum.
LAUREN: Have you got enough underwear?
BAILEY: Yes, Mum!
LAUREN: I've put some snacks in there, just in case you get hungry.
BAILEY: I'm pretty sure they have snacks on the plane…
LOU: Never look a gift- horse in the mouth, sunshine.
Lauren hugs Bailey sadly, and then he gets a double hug from Amber and Paige.
AMBER: We love you, Bails.
BAILEY: I love you guys too.
Lou hugs Lauren, and tells her to call if ever she needs him.
LOU: I'll be back.
LAUREN: You'd better be!
Lou and Bailey go to get into the taxi.
LOU: Come on Bailey, time to hit the road. Adventure calls.
As the cab drives away, Amber, Paige and Lauren wave sadly.
LAUREN: Looks like it's just us three girls now, hey?
They all put arms around one another.
Indoors, Daniel and Amber are clearing up. Amber's gone quiet. He tells her he got his results back from the spine and muscular atrophy gene test (following the revelation that his aunt Lucy was a carrier) and that it's all clear, so the baby won't be affected. Amber doesn't really react, and when quizzed, says Bailey's departure is really getting to her.
AMBER: Everything's changing.
DANIEL: Yeah, but change can be good. I know you're low right now, but things will get better, I promise.
He starts wittering on about the baby again and how happy it's made him. He suggests they set a new date for their wedding to make things official. She doesn't look too thrilled at the idea, but insists she wants to get married.
AMBER: But it's just…
DANIEL: Just what?
AMBER: … I don't deserve you.
DANIEL: Oh, Amber. Why would you say something like that?
AMBER: Because… this baby might be Josh's.
Daniel looks astounded.
