- Nick is thrilled when Paul tells him the council is about to vote to grant him his research centre
- In a bid to prove to Tyler she's not boring, Imogen challenges him to a game of strip poker
- Imogen quickly takes the lead in their game, and is flustered when Tyler takes his shirt off
- In an emotional moment, Naomi kisses Paul on the lips
No 24
Naomi comes in, and quickly goes to hug Mark, evidently feeling guilty about her kiss with Paul - but doesn't admit to it. He asks why she didn't respond to his messages earlier - she admits she got waylaid with work. Mark says he knows a way she could make it up to him, but Naomi just wants to talk.
MARK: Are you sure you're okay? Paul hasn't done anything to upset you, has he?
NAOMI: Oh, no, I'm fine. Work's fine. I just - I just wanna catch up with my amazing boyfriend! Anything wrong with that?
Mark goes to make them tea.
Men's Shed
The strip poker game continues. Tyler is now totally naked except for his socks, whereas Imogen still has her undies on.
IMOGEN: I cannot believe you lost your jocks before your socks!
TYLER: I didn't want to get cold feet!
IMOGEN: You're not ninety!
TYLER: Yeah, well, clearly.
IMOGEN: Okay, the only thing I'm looking at are my cards.
Tyler wins a hand, but Imogen avoids having to take her bra off in the nick of time, by realising she's wearing a bracelet and taking that off instead. The shed door opens, and Imogen dives behind the couch, leaving Tyler to greet Kyle with a full frontal!
KYLE: Oh, dude, I just saw your- ! Why are you starkers?
TYLER: Oh, you know, just letting my body breathe. It's good for the skin!
Averting his eyes, Kyle swiftly collects his toolbox, before reminding Tyler that all the other guys have keys to the shed, so could walk in at any time. When Tyler seems unperturbed by this, Kyle exits, telling him to 'have fun'! Once he's gone, Imogen bursts out laughing, while Tyler performs a naked bow - our view obscured by strategically placed objects, of course.
The Waterhole
Nick comes in to make arrangements for the press announcement about the cancer research centre getting the go-ahead, and asks Sheila when he should come in for a sound-check.
SHEILA: There isn't one. This isn't the Rod Laver Arena.
Nick insists Sheila schedule a sound-check, and gives her a checklist of things to organise before the press conference. But she simply screws up the list and throws it away, before telling him that she takes her instructions from Paul.
SHEILA: So unless you're here as a customer, you know where the door is!
Sheila goes over to talk to Georgia, who's already heard about the cancer research centre going ahead. Sheila offers to turn off the PA system while Nick's speaking; Georgia thanks her, but says they'll have to put their feelings about Nick aside for the greater good of curing cancer.
Meanwhile, Georgia is working on a speech for her disciplinary hearing tomorrow, but admits she still has no proof that Nick made the social media post that got her into bother with her superiors, or that 'Patient X' even exists. Georgia gets a text from Toadie, telling her to come over and discuss their strategy. Sheila says she'll be back at work in no time.
No 24
Naomi gets a text from Paul, which reads: 'Thanks for coming back, can't do this without you'. Mark complains that he's always texting her out of hours, saying he expects too much - but Naomi defends Paul, saying he's a good boss.
MARK: Yeah, because you're doing what he wants. The moment you do something he doesn't like, he'll turn on you.
NAOMI: Or maybe he's not as bad as you think.
When Mark tries to look at the text, Naomi pulls away, saying it's 'work stuff' and confidential. She then apologises for overreacting, saying she's a bit on edge lately.
NAOMI: I can't stop thinking about how short life is, and the future, and what's going to happen.
Mark wrongly guesses that her negative thoughts have been prompted by Matt's death, but Naomi goes along with that idea, and asks Mark how he handles it. But he says he's too tired to get into it, and asks if they can talk about it another time, before going to bed. Naomi looks worried.
Men's Shed
Tyler and Imogen are getting dressed, while talking about Imogen having skipped the Law Society drinks. Imogen says she can't imagine what Kyle must be thinking having found Tyler hanging out in the nude.
TYLER: I'm more interested in your thoughts.
Tyler goes in to kiss Imogen, but she backs away, saying she needs to think about this a bit more before she comes to a decision. They smile at one another.
No 30
Georgia comes round for her meeting with Toadie. She provides him with the statement she's written and character references, but Toadie has some bad news - the hearing she was due to have tomorrow has been postponed, because all the hospital bigwigs are going to Nick's cancer research centre press conference. Toadie says they will get another hearing, but isn't yet sure when. Georgia is furious that she's been sidelined by the hospital in favour of Nick.
Lassiter's Lake
Naomi and Paul are walking B2 by the lake, discussing his speech for the press conference. Paul admits he's feeling really tired today, and isn't sure he's up to doing the speech. He asks Naomi if she would read it instead. She points out that she's only an assistant, but Paul says she'd be better than any of the councillors would.
PAUL: Don't make me play the cancer card.
NAOMI: Oh, that's just cruel!
PAUL: So is that a yes?
The Waterhole
Imogen is talking to Nick about the opening of the research centre - apparently his name will be mounted on the building! Tyler comes in and makes a remark about Imogen not wearing her bracelet, asking if it makes her feel naked. Sensing there's some flirtation going on, Nick asks Imogen what's going on, once Tyler's gone to the bar. She admits she thinks he's cute, but that she's taking Nick's advice and concentrating on her career goals.
IMOGEN: My number one dating rule - if I wouldn't want him on my arm as chief justice, then he's a no-go.
NICK: Stop being so serious. Allow yourself to have a bit of fun. You'll never make a good lawyer if you can't find ways to blow off steam.
Imogen watches as Tyler throws peanuts into his mouth, and they smile at each other.
No 24
Kyle comes round to meet Mark - they're going to the park for a game of footie, but Kyle is nervous as to whether Tyler will be joining them! Mark says he has no idea where Tyler is.
KYLE: You two are different from each other!
MARK: Yeah, in a lot of ways.
KYLE: Yeah, but you're not into the same hobbies though?
MARK: Well, we both like bikes and sport.
KYLE: Yeah, but he's more of an outdoors guy, isn't he? You know, one of those nature people - like to air themselves?
Mark is perplexed by Kyle's line of questioning, and the topic moves onto Naomi; Kyle asks if everything's alright between her and Mark. Mark explains how Naomi was being all philosophical about the future last night, and explains how she didn't want to get physical. Suitably disgusted, Kyle wonders if Naomi is ready for 'the L word'. Mark says she never wanted things to be serious.
KYLE: I know Auntie Nomes can seem pretty chilled. But at the end of the day, mate, she's a chick. They all want to hear the L word eventually.
The Waterhole
Nick is schmoozing with VIPs prior to the press conference, when Georgia comes in. She tells Sheila her hearing was postponed, and says she's come to hear the announcement.
NICK: Ah. This is a surprise.
GEORGIA: I just wanted to see if you could lie to all these people and keep a straight face.
Imogen, who is nearby, asks what's going on, so Nick asks her to fetch him a drink while he talks to Georgia. Pulling her aside, he asks her what it is she thinks he's lying about.
GEORGIA: Just how brilliant you are.
NICK: But I am. You know, you could've been a part of all this.
GEORGIA: Everybody who is a part of this won't want to know you when the truth comes out.
NICK: Watch yourself.
GEORGIA: Or what? You're gonna screw me over and get me booted from the hospital? No, wait - you've already done that.
NICK: Look, if you're that bitter about losing your job, I'm more than happy to give your CV the once-over...
GEORGIA: No, no. I haven't lost my job. My suspension is temporary.
NICK: The hospital won't take you back.
GEORGIA: Then why would they bother setting up the hearing?
NICK: Oh, you mean the one that they scheduled for today? The one that's been 'postponed'? You're done.
He walks away, leaving Georgia worried.
Shortly afterwards, Naomi introduces the press conference, explaining that Paul has asked her to speak on his behalf.
NAOMI: Today is a proud day for Erinsborough. Today, Erinsborough joins a fight against a very cruel disease. Mayor Robinson recently observed that cancer was an adversary not unlike himself - strong, unrelenting and not used to losing. That changes, this moment. It is my absolute pleasure to formally announce the opening of the Dr Nicholas Petrides Cancer Research Centre in Erinsborough.
Unveiling an image and logo of the new centre, Naomi invites Nick to speak. Georgia looks angry.
NICK: Firstly, I'd just like to personally thank Mayor Paul Robinson, for championing this cause. Without him, none of this would be possible.
He then goes on to thank the hospital staff for their support, while looking directly at Georgia. Furious, she marches out.
No 30
Sonya and an eyepatch-wearing Mark are entertaining Nell, who is dressed up as a pirate, with their best buccaneer voices! They discuss Naomi - Sonya tells Mark not to worry about Kyle's earlier advice, as 'he's not the most intuitive of people'! But Mark thinks Kyle's maybe right and that Naomi wants more from their relationship, judging by her behaviour last night.
Sonya says that in which case, commitment would be the next logical step - as they've been together for a while now. But Mark admits he likes things how they are; and says that if Naomi did 'throw the L word' at him, he doesn't know if he could say it back.
Lassiter's
Georgia approaches hotel underling Glen, who's on reception. She makes out she's Nick's girlfriend, and asks if she can have a key card to his room. Glen resists at first, but Georgia threatens to tell Terese on him, pointing out that Nick's her brother.
GEORGIA: And she can be pretty scary when she wants to be. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes when she finds out how difficult you've been, Glen.
Glen reluctantly gives Georgia a key card, and she heads upstairs.
Letting herself into Nick's room, Georgia goes through his drawers and jacket, then opens up his laptop. Her phone rings - it's Kyle - but she turns it off, and gets to work searching his computer for references to her. She's shocked to find that Nick has a typed-up copy of her baby bucket list saved on the laptop, and that this is how he knew to woo her with ballet tickets!
GEORGIA: You creep!
She takes a USB stick from her bag, and plugs it into the laptop.
Suite 1 Eclipse Apartments
Naomi is telling Paul all about how the speech went, and admits that she felt like she was part of something good by announcing the launch of the research centre. But she's still jumpy around Paul, and admits she's still angry at herself for kissing him.
NAOMI: It was crazy.
PAUL: Yeah, it was. But you know, the day I complain about a beautiful woman coming onto me is the day I should chuck in the towel.
NAOMI: So we're okay?
PAUL: I don't mince words. If I'd been offended, I would've sacked you.
NAOMI: That's true.
They agree to forget about it and get on with their work.
Lassiter's Complex
Tyler is sending someone a text, which reads: 'Surfing in 5'. He bumps into Mark, who is coming out of Harold's. Mark asks if Tyler's met the new owners of the garage yet; Danni's told him it's been sold. Tyler says it's some overseas investor, and that he hasn't met them - but adds that the new owner is willing to keep him on. Mark asks if he wants to go for a drink to celebrate, but Tyler says he has to get to the garage.
Mark leaves, just as Imogen approaches Tyler. She explains she's been looking for him.
IMOGEN: How would you feel about... hanging out? Officially, I mean?
TYLER: You should know I'm not that easy! If you want any action, you're gonna have to shell out. So I fully expect to be wined and dined...
IMOGEN: Well, I think I could come up with something.
TYLER: Then I'm in!
IMOGEN: Cool.
Lassiter's
Georgia is copying files from Nick's laptop onto her USB. The transfer finishes, and she pulls out the memory stick and closes the laptop. At that moment, Nick walks into the room, and demands to know why she's there. He walks towards her menacingly.
NICK: I think the hospital board will be quite interested to hear about this. Don't you?
Georgia backs away, looking worried.
Unmissable Drama
- Nick searches Georgia's bag, and tells someone that 'that girl is out of her mind'
- Georgia tells Karl she's trying to clear her name, but he says he's stunned by her actions
- Terese and Brad are having trust issues again
- Lauren's furious at Mark, accusing him of asking her to help him label Matt as a corrupt cop
