- Susan despairs at Karl, Toadie and Lou's cycling club
- Paige makes her peace with Imogen following her accusation that she was chasing Daniel
- Mark and the cops raid Dimato's hideout and arrest him – but Tyler escapes unseen
- Mark tells Tyler that anyone involved in Dimato's ring won't be free for much longer
- After Dimato gets bail, he pays a visit to Tyler and tells him they have things to work out
Dimato, flanked by goons, chastises Tyler for ignoring his calls, and compliments him on his ‘disappearing act' at the yard when the police turned up.
DIMATO: It's almost like you knew the cops were coming.
Tyler insists he didn't, and that Mark is totally unaware of his involvement in Dimato's operation.
TYLER: And I don't appreciate the accusation.
DIMATO: I'm not accusing you of anything.
TYLER: Sounds like you are.
Dimato laughs with his goons and says he believes Tyler, before offering him some more work with him. But Tyler says he's not interested. At this point, Michelle Kim walks in and asks whether Dimato's told Tyler about the role he'll play in their new plan. Dimato says he was just about to.
Lou is treating Amber, Imogen and Paige to cake, but he's saving himself for after his ride with the bike club! Paige remarks that Lou's bike is a bit past it, so Amber suggests that Lou should use Matt's.
AMBER: It's sitting in the garage. I'm sure he'd be happy to know that it was getting some use. Especially from you.
LOU: Your dad would be very proud of the way you're handling things.
Lou gets a text, which reminds him he should be at Karl's. He rushes off, just as Josh arrives.
Josh has also got fitness on the mind, and asks the girls if they'd help him with a TAFE assignment he's been given, by taking part in some high- intensity fitness training tomorrow morning. Paige instantly agrees, but Imogen claims she has to study. When Imogen asks if Amber's up for it, she responds very awkwardly, but says yes. Josh invites her to bring Daniel along as well, which she agrees to, attempting to appear casual. But something is clearly worrying her.
Michelle and Dimato explain to Tyler that they intend to continue their dodgy car- stealing operations, despite being busted by the police – they'll just have to be more careful from now on. With Dimato's container yard now under scrutiny, Michelle says they're looking for a new base of operations.
DIMATO: A place we can get cars in and out of without raising too much suspicion. Preferably a place close to my other businesses, so I can keep an eye on things.
Realising they're talking about Fitzgerald Motors, Tyler immediately says no – letting slip in the process that the owners are selling the garage, so he may not even have a job for much longer. Michelle and Dimato exchange a glance, and Dimato tells Tyler not to worry; they'll find a solution. But when they do, they still want him for the job. Tyler's worried Mark would figure it out, but Dimato and Michelle flatter him, calling him smart and discreet.
DIMATO: So I trust you won't let me down.
Dimato grabs Tyler threateningly, before leaving with Michelle and the rest of the Hamburger Mafia – saying they'll be in touch.
Karl is showing Nate, Kyle and Lou how to shave their legs – the idea being that it will reduce friction on their big bike ride! Nate and Kyle are grudgingly going along with it, with some difficulty, but Lou isn't having a bar of it.
NATE: I don't know how women do this! You have to be a contortionist!
Susan comes in, and is horrified to see them all shaving their legs in the front room! We learn that Toadie is busy with work and can't participate, so Kyle's taken his place on the biking team. Karl waffles on about the importance of making a long- term commitment to the team, but Susan apparently notices that he's exposing himself through his shorts, and he hurriedly readjusts!
Surprisingly, Mark has his shirt off when Tyler comes in. To reassure us it's not gratuitous, Mark explains he's been doing a workout to take his mind off Dimato – saying he can't believe the sergeant granted him bail, without even confiscating his passport. To ensure he doesn't pull any stunts, Mark is setting up some surveillance cameras in the area around Dimato's businesses, so jokes to Tyler that he can't be slacking off work anymore. Mark adds that Tyler should let him know if he sees or hears anything suspicious. Tyler looks worried.
In the garden, Josh has Amber and Paige doing extreme aerobics, when Daniel turns up to join them. He has holes in his trainers.
PAIGE: Did the museum lend you those shoes?
DANIEL: You're just jealous of my customised ventilation.
Daniel gives Amber a hello- kiss, and the training recommences.
Tyler is idly tossing a coin when Imogen comes in. He explains he's deciding whether to stay in Erinsborough or leave. Imogen probes Tyler for info on why he's thinking of leaving, and correctly guesses that it has something to do with his secret money woes, that Mark can't know about. Tyler doesn't deny it. Imogen starts the whole reverse psychology routine, saying Tyler's the kind of guy who bails when things get tough – like he bailed on Port Lincoln. Tyler replies that he just wanted to see the world and hang out with his brother. In which case, Imogen says, he should maybe stick around, as she's sure Mark would like that.
TYLER: You'd like that as well, wouldn't you?
IMOGEN: Get over yourself!
He smiles as she walks off, but then gets a text from Michelle, saying to meet her at the garage in 20 minutes.
When Tyler arrives, Michelle and Dimato are kissing outside.
TYLER: What do you want?
DIMATO: That's no way to speak to your boss.
TYLER: You're not exactly my boss.
MICHELLE: Oh, he is now.
DIMATO: I just bought the place.
Dimato explains that Danni's mum was desperate to offload the garage, due to the trouble Danni is in, and thanks Tyler for the tip- off about the sale. When Tyler asks whether the cops won't be suspicious, Dimato looks at Michelle, and says that a ‘well- respected associate' has bought the garage on his behalf.
Michelle then explains that Dimato is ‘going travelling for a while', until things settle down.
DIMATO: From here on in, everything goes through Michelle. She'll be my eyes on the ground.
TYLER: Won't the cops be after you too?
MICHELLE: Oh well, Mr Dimato and I have never been officially linked. Except for Matt Turner's evidence, and he's dead.
Dimato tells Tyler to be grateful – his job's safe during the day, and on evenings he'll be conducting their ‘other business'.
TYLER: I never agreed to this.
DIMATO: You don't have a choice.
TYLER: You think?
Tyler walks away, and Dimato smiles at Michelle.
Sheila is amused to see Karl, Kyle and Nate in their lycra, preparing for the bike ride, and makes some catty remarks.
KARL: This is micro- fibre. That means it's breathable, it's water- repellent – it's also got built- in UV protection.
SHEILA: Well unless you're planning on competing in the Tour de France, Lance, there's no reason you should be flaunting all of that in public. And why are all your legs so shiny – oh! You have all defuzzed!
KARL: As professional athletes…
SHEILA: Oh, are you serious? How far up did you go?
Lou turns up to join them, and Sheila goes off inside. When Karl comments on his new bike, Lou explains it's Matt's, and that Amber suggested he use it. After a brief wistful pause, the boys prepare to set off for their big ride, for which Karl has mapped out a route. They agree to wait at the Welcome to Erinsborough sign for any stragglers, and Karl and Kyle bicker about who will lead – but Karl wins out in the end. They all set off, except Lou who isn't on his bike yet, and shouts for them to wait for him!
Josh's extreme aerobics regime continues, but Amber seems to be struggling with nausea – and suddenly lunges towards the bushes to be sick. Everyone crowds around Amber in concern, Josh apologising for pushing her too hard. But she says she's just really unfit; and Daniel takes her inside to rest up.
Sheila is regaling Susan and Georgia with tales of Karl's bike team and their silly lycra suits, and Susan laughs about how she caught the MAMILs (middle- aged men in lycra) shaving their legs last night.
SHEILA: MAMILs is spot on, because Lou looked like a big beached whale in that skin- tight get- up.
But Sheila is worried that Karl will get obsessive about this latest hobby, as he has been wont to do in the past. Sheila suggests the women could start their own group. Georgia puts forward the idea of a walking group, so they could exercise and socialise at the same time. Sheila tucks into a cake, saying she'll ‘just eat this first'!
Tyler runs into Imogen again. She sees he's got a rucksack with him, and asks if he's decided to bail – but he claims he's just going away for a few days.
IMOGEN: And here I thought I'd convinced you to stay.
TYLER: Aww, you really don't want me to go, do you?
IMOGEN: I did not say that!
TYLER: Well, I'll miss you too.
He says he'll go for a ride up the coast, but at that moment, Michelle turns up and greets him. Imogen looks suspicious, but leaves, telling him to have fun on his trip.
MICHELLE: Who's your little friend?
TYLER: No- one.
MICHELLE: So you're going on a trip, are you?
TYLER: What's it to you?
MICHELLE: Bad idea. If you don't help us, Dimato will serve you up to the cops, or worse.
TYLER: I don't really care. I'm not scared of him.
MICHELLE: You should be. Look, Tyler, you're a good guy and I like you. That's why I'm gonna be honest. You don't want to mess around with Dimato. He doesn't completely trust you because of your brother, and if I didn't personally intervene – you wouldn't be walking now.
Michelle has got very close up to Tyler, and is stroking his shoulder.
MICHELLE: So, you'd better pull your head in. Because we start tonight.
The ‘Welcome to Erinsborough' Sign
Karl and Kyle are bickering by the roadside, while they and Nate wait for a struggling Lou to catch up with them. They start doing silly exercises until Lou finally turns up.
LOU: Is it time for muffins yet?
EVERYONE ELSE: No!
LOU: Who's the leader on the next leg?
Kyle and Karl stare each other out!
Paige, Daniel and Josh are rehydrating in the kitchen, when Amber comes out of the bathroom, still feeling ill. Everyone's throwing in theories as to why she's been sick; Amber claims she had a really big breakfast this morning, and just exercised too soon. Paige looks suspicious. Amber encourages the others to carry on with the exercising without her, and Daniel and Josh head outside to continue, followed by a hesitant Paige. As they leave, Amber looks worried, and pulls something from her pocket. It's a pregnancy test that she's apparently just taken – and it appears to be positive…
Karl, Kyle and Nate are huddled around a table, whispering about Lou.
KARL: Lou's gotta go.
KYLE: He's a dead weight. He's slowing us down too much.
NATE: Yeah, who's gonna tell him?
KYLE: I nominate Karl.
KYLE: Yeah, well as our leader, Karl, it's your duty to handle stuff like this (!)
Lou interrupts, having fetched them some freshly- baked muffins from the oven. Karl tries the tactful approach, saying the team wouldn't want Lou to injure himself by overexerting. But Lou insists he'll be fine.
LOU: It's just great to be part of a group. This is like the Men's Shed on wheels, eh? And after everything that's happened recently… Harold leaving, and erm… Matt's passing… the bike club gives me something to look forward to, you know? And riding Matt's bike makes it all the more special.
The others all look increasingly sheepish, and don't say anything!
Tyler comes in to find Mark in a mood about the ground coffee not being in the fridge where it belongs! Sensing there's more to it, Tyler asks Mark what's wrong; and Mark admits that Dimato didn't turn up to sign in at the police station, meaning he's jumped bail. Mark suspects he may have gone interstate, so they won't be able to pursue their case against him; Tyler puts a positive gloss on it, saying that at least Mark won't have to see Dimato again. Mark says it's good that they at least shut down his dodgy operation, but Tyler looks worried.
Paige comes back in to check on Amber, telling her that Josh and Daniel have gone off for a run to complete the fitness session. Amber's looking worried, and Paige presses her to say what's wrong.
PAIGE: You're not pregnant, are you?
PAIGE: I know – it's out there. But some things lately have struck me as kind of weird. I mean, you don't have an appetite, you're tired, you just threw up. And then you lied to Josh about having a big breakfast this morning.
AMBER: You're right. I'm pregnant.
PAIGE: Wow. Wow, okay – hey, I know it must be a bit of a shock now. But everything will be fine. Daniel is gonna be over the moon.
AMBER: Please, don't.
PAIGE: No, I'm serious. He is gonna be so happy, and supportive –
AMBER: The baby might not be Daniel's.
PAIGE: … Oh!
- Amber says everyone's going to hate her, but Paige suggests not to ‘tell him anything'
- Amber looks worried, while Daniel is smiling
- Paige talks to Josh about something he'd agreed not to talk to Amber about
- Amber walks into Harold's to see Josh and Daniel at a table together
