Ramsay Street
As the Turners take the bins out, Lauren moans to Matt about Amber's desire to move into New Eden, saying she knows what Rain's type is like, having famously become embroiled with a cult herself back in the day. Lauren's advocating putting their foot down and saying Amber can't move into New Eden, but Matt reminds her that didn't work last time Amber moved out. Matt suggests that Lauren ring around the other Erinsborough businesses, to persuade them to lodge complaints about New Eden like Lauren has.

Sheila presents Naomi with some job vacancies she's found for her online - but Naomi announces she's starting her own business, called Naomi Canning Enterprises.
GEORGIA: Ooh, dynamic name (!)
NAOMI: Thank you.
Naomi says the business will focus on events planning and arts management, building on her experience working for her ex-lover Charles. Sheila suggests Naomi start with something simpler, like being a glassie at the Waterhole - but at this point Kyle and Gary come in and both give Naomi a hug, welcoming her home.
When Sheila asks where Gary and Kyle have been all night, Gary explains it was something to do with one of Kyle's business associates who was storing wood for them for the beds they're making, which was difficult to track down. Kyle remarks it must be years since Naomi and Gary saw each other, and they agree, but their reaction implies that they may not be being entirely truthful.
We learn that working with Kyle has encouraged Gary to perhaps take up carpentry again, so Sheila invites him into the laundry room to fix a wonky shelf. While they're gone, Naomi laments the fact that Sheila is encouraging Gary to aim high, while not taking the same attitude towards Naomi's own business ambitions.
Lassiter's Lake
Amber and Daniel are excitedly discussing their plans for living in the New Eden community, and even considering having their wedding there. But at this point Rain turns up, and tells them that half the local shop owners are complaining about her planning application for New Eden. She explains that Lauren is responsible for starting the petition, and Amber starts to fume. Rain suggests they could set up their community elsewhere, such as a spot she knows on the Mornington Peninsula.
Amber and Daniel aren't sure they want to move that far away, but Rain convinces them to come and check it out. They decide to go and pack and meet here later, but once Rain has gone, Daniel gets a text from Lauren, asking to speak to him alone. Amber's oblivious and asks Daniel if he wants to go to her place first to pack, or his. But Daniel looks worried and says he has something to take care of first.
Harold's Store
Bailey is spying on Paige as she looks at her Facebook account. She reveals she's had a message from a guy called Bryson Douglas, asking if she'd like to chat. Paige insists she isn't going to fall for something like that, and turns the attention back on Bailey, whom she surmises is desperate to get his laptop back so he can cyber-stalk his recent girlfriend Alice. She reminds Bailey that Alice dumped him, and that he needs to toughen up and realise it's over. Bailey looks glum, but when Paige leaves, he realises she's left her Facebook account logged in, and decides to reply to Bryson Douglas on her behalf.
Meanwhile, Daniel is explaining to Lauren about the new plan to set up New Eden on the Mornington Peninsula, following her petition to stop the site opening in Erinsborough. Lauren's upset about it, and warns Daniel that Amber is only doing this for him, but Daniel insists Amber has been the one driving this.
LAUREN: No, no. This is Rain. She's got some kind of a hold over Amber, and it's unhealthy. Now I wanted to talk to you privately to see if we could tackle this together. You know Rain better than anyone. Daniel, I know you want to be with Amber no matter what. But be honest with yourself - is the girl that you're planning on running away with tonight the same girl you fell in love with?
DANIEL: ...
LAUREN: Well you'd better do something about it.
No 32
Daniel arrives to find Amber excitedly packing for the trip to the peninsula, but he relates the conversation he just had with Lauren.
AMBER: Rain said this was gonna happen. She said people would try and badmouth her. Mum is just scared of change, and she's projecting her own stuff.
But Daniel says it isn't that, and admits that Rain can be quite influential when she wants to be. Amber immediately takes Rain's side, upset that Daniel is talking negatively about her. Daniel reminds Amber that she hasn't always trusted Rain and that she used to hate the idea of living in New Eden, but Amber is unwilling to listen or apparently even remember she felt that way.
Daniel suggests that Rain has been brainwashing Amber, but Amber strenuously denies it. She tells Daniel to leave, as she needs to meditate. He protests, but she insists. Spooky music plays.
Lassiter's Lake
Daniel tells Rain that their trip to the Mornington Peninsula is on hold. Rain reacts badly, assuming Amber is responsible for the change of heart.
RAIN: Amber's a kid. She doesn't know what she wants, so it's up to you to tell her.
DANIEL: You really think that's how a good relationship works?
RAIN: Is that what you've got - a good relationship? You're really going to give up everything that you've ever dreamed of over some girl who can't even spend a month in a car. Why are you even with her?
DANIEL: Because I love her, and I want to spend my life with her, no matter where that is.
Rain begs Daniel not to go cold on the idea of New Eden.
RAIN: New Eden wouldn't be any kind of Eden without you. I need you. I'd do anything to make sure you're still on board. So you tell me what it's gonna take to keep you.
Rain kisses Daniel, but he pushes her off. Spooky music plays again.
DANIEL: You are unbelievable.
RAIN: You know this is what you want, not some suburban purgatory.
DANIEL: You have no idea what I want - you never have. It has always been about you.
RAIN: Who's it meant to be about, your schoolgirl girlfriend? She's pathetic.
DANIEL: I don't want to have anything to do with you. You need to stay as far away from me and Amber as possible.

Gary is alone in the kitchen drying crockery, when Naomi comes in.
NAOMI: First you're helping Kyle, then you're doing the dishes. Anyone would think you're turning over a new leaf.
GARY: Just trying to make up for not being around.
NAOMI: So I take it no-one knows that we've been catching up over the years?
GARY: Nope. That's how I'd like to keep it. Kyle was gutted when he found out that I'd been visiting Mum and not him.
NAOMI: By visiting, you mean taking money from? Well, I can't blame him.
GARY: Imagine how he'd feel if he knew I'd been seeing you too.
NAOMI: So what did you tell him?
GARY: I said I'd been on the run from the Mackenzie brothers.
NAOMI: Right, so you were protecting us by staying in hiding. What a hero (!)
GARY: Leave it out!
NAOMI: Okay, and that story was enough to keep Mum happy too, was it?
Gary gets a text from Kyle, and goes off to help him with a job, leaving Naomi to do the drying.
Harold's Store
Paige is mildly annoyed that Bailey has sent a message to Bryson from her account, but is intrigued by Bryson's reply - 'Your message made me laugh and blush and high-five myself, which is more action than I usually get, seeing as I spend most of my time looking after my sick grandma.'
PAIGE: It's a scam. Give it to me. 'Dear Pervert... Cheer up - your grandmother will be dead soon.'
BAILEY: Okay, well what if he's genuine?
PAIGE (sighs): Fine. I'll be nice.
Lassiter's Lake
Imogen finds Daniel looking forlorn and asks what's wrong; he admits he's 'been an idiot' - Rain completely fooled him.
DANIEL: I knew part of her was ruthless, but I never knew she could be so totally toxic.
He explains that he thinks Rain has been brainwashing or manipulating Amber, in order to get to Daniel, and that now Amber won't talk to him.
IMOGEN: This is not your fault. Daniel, you always see the good in people. And I really hope you don't let that change just because Rain played you.
DANIEL: ...
IMOGEN: It's a beautiful way to be. That's one of the things that makes you so special.
DANIEL: You are such a good friend.
She goes to put an arm around him, but then thinks better of it, and just sits by his side.

In the back yard, Lauren tries to talk to Amber about Rain, but Amber's still furious with her. Lauren says she doesn't want Amber to make the same mistakes she made, but Amber insists New Eden isn't a cult and Rain isn't controlling her - and that Lauren's persecution of her has been totally unjustified.
LAUREN: Sweetheart, you do not know what these type of people are capable of.
AMBER: No, no. You just can't handle that I'm changing, I'm growing up. Which means you really don't support me.
LAUREN: I will support you to the moon and back if it's doing what you want to do!
AMBER: Well right now, what I want to do is not listen to you.
Amber starts meditating, and a tearful Lauren walks off.
Harold's Store
Sheila, Naomi and Georgia are debating what kind of cake to buy for dessert. Sheila knows that Gary likes sponge cakes, which leads Georgia to mention the cake at her wedding to Kyle. Naomi's still sad she missed it, and Georgia says she's been thinking of having a vow renewal, so that Naomi and Gary can be present. Naomi thinks it's a great idea, and says her new business can help organise it.
SHEILA: You just had a wedding - it sounds like a complete waste of money!
But Georgia insists this will just be 'cheap and cheerful', and Sheila is swayed by the idea that Gary could be there. Once again, Naomi seems bitter that Sheila seems more preoccupied with Gary than with her.
Meanwhile, Paige is still concocting her reply to Bryson, with Bailey's input.
PAIGE: How about this? 'Sorry Bryson - my annoying, juvenile brother, who needs a life, hijacked my Facebook page and replied to you as a joke.'
BAILEY: Okay. I mean, I wouldn't waste space with all those adjectives, but...
PAIGE: 'I'm afraid I have enough friends, but I hope your grandma feels better soon. Have a nice life.'
BAILEY: No, it's good. Now that you've cut out all the swearing.
Paige sends the message, and closes the laptop - then announces she's going to exact sweet revenge on Bailey for sending the message in the first place.
Rain's campsite
Amber comes to see Rain, asking for her help to find 'clarity' with another guided meditation, since people keep throwing doubts at her about what she should do regarding New Eden.
RAIN: Of course. And we can record it on your phone so you can play it back whenever you're having doubts.
They get to work, and Amber looks relieved.
Harold's Store
An excited-looking Paige walks past with her phone, as Sheila continues to witter on to Naomi about how good it is to have Gary back in their lives. Sheila notices Naomi's not happy.
SHEILA: What's your problem, missy?
NAOMI: Bleurgh!
SHEILA: What?
NAOMI: It's just the way that you treat Gary over me.
SHEILA: Do you know what the most positive thing has been about him being away for such a long time? Not hearing those words.
NAOMI: Just admit it, Mum. He's your favourite.
SHEILA: Or those ones. Stop being petty. You have had a bee in your bonnet about this for ages, and it's simply not true. Me not spoiling you rotten, like your father did, doesn't mean to say I love you any less than I love Gary.
Naomi accuses Sheila of buying Gary a special 'welcome home' sponge cake - but Sheila insists she's bought it to thank him for helping Kyle with the beds. If Naomi wants a cake too, she'll have to earn one!
The Waterhole
Daniel and Imogen continue to talk about the Rain/Amber situation; Daniel's feeling guilty for introducing Amber to Rain. But Imogen thinks it will all sort itself out.
Rain's campsite
Rain brainwashes Amber with hippie mumbo-jumbo as she lies on the grass listening.
RAIN: As you head towards the golden light, feel its warmth enveloping you in its soothing embrace. Let go now. Let yourself drift into a state of complete relaxation, deeper than you've ever gone before.
The Waterhole
Daniel worries about Amber being mad at him, as Imogen reassures him.
Rain's campsite
The brainwashing session continues, as spooky music plays and the camera circles around Amber lying on the ground.
RAIN: Visualise the stresses in your life as a raging, churning river. You're being caught in its current - being dragged under.
The Waterhole
Daniel continues to whinge on about dragging Amber into the situation with Rain, but Imogen says he was manipulated by Rain too.
Rain's campsite
RAIN: Daniel is that current. Daniel is that current, drowning you. And by refusing to swim to freedom, you are holding him back too.
The Waterhole
Imogen tells Daniel that no-one can get between his amazing bond with Amber.
Rain's campsite
RAIN: Daniel doesn't love you. Daniel doesn't love you. Daniel doesn't love you. Daniel doesn't love you. And he never has. You're not meant to be together.
The Waterhole
Daniel tells a visibly still besotted Imogen that he just wants Amber to be happy.
IMOGEN: How could she not be? She's got you. You guys are rock solid.
Rain's campsite
Rain tells Amber that when she leaves here, she'll have a realisation - that she'll have to break free from Daniel.
RAIN: Let him go forever.

Naomi comes in, slams down the sponge cake, and tells Gary she's fed up of Sheila going on about what a saint he's become.
GARY: Not my fault she's got good taste.
NAOMI: I'm being serious, Gaz.
Gary tells Naomi not to take it to heart; Sheila's just happy to see him again.
NAOMI: You know, I wonder if she'd be so nice if she really knew what happened in Frankston. I wonder if any of them would.
GARY: You can't tell them.
NAOMI: Why not? It'd do this family some good to have a little dose of reality.
GARY: I'm building a relationship with Kyle; things are good. What's wrong with a little white lie to keep the peace?
NAOMI: Ah, but it's not a little white lie. It is a whopping great big one.
GARY: Which I told my son to save him a lot of pain.
NAOMI: Oh, don't guilt me, Gaz. You know, I was happy to keep silent while you kept your distance. But if you want to be part of this family, I think you should start telling the truth.
Gary looks pensive.
