Previously on Neighbours
- Georgia being examined by Karl.
- Kyle urging Georgia to have surgery.
- Georgia agreeing to have the surgery.
- Nate and Chris agreeing to meet up.
- Nate getting all aggressive.
- Chris/Nate disagreeing over what happened.
- Paige showing her parents the embarrassing baby photos.
- Terese spotting the mini party for Brad.
Brad returns from having a birthday surf to a kiss and a very subtle grilling from his wife over what happened in the Men's Shed. He replies that they just hung out and ate a second birthday cake before she then apologises for what she said at dinner. He accepts the apology and Terese wants to talk more but he leaves to go have a shower.
Georgia/Chris discuss whether he should pursue things with Nate after what happened last week. She is playing down what happened (and thinks he came to Paige's rescue) whereas Chris is hesitant in case Nate turns out to be a loose cannon and has to break up with him.
Kyle comes through with Georgia's bag for the hospital and Toadie gives her some encouraging words (not!) before making a hasty exit to get to work.
Toadie is meeting with Amber (and Daniel) and Imogen over the car's ownership. The meeting doesn't get off to the best start where they begin squabbling over Daniel and the fact he's there! In the end Toadie give them his advice – sell it and split the profit but that is ruled out because both girls need the car to get their licence!
Chris runs into Nate in the store and they agree to hang out later on, just on their own this time.
Brad enters the store and spots who he was looking for – Paige and Lauren who are sitting having a cuppa. He tells them about his surfing trip and it was just what he needed. He also gets his official happy birthday from his daughter.
Lou has overheard the trio talking briefly about last night and he quizzes Lauren on it when she returns to work after her break (Brad has left too). She explains about them getting together for Brad's birthday and Lou isn't too happy at what they did and warns her to be careful.
Terese is round to find out the latest on the court case for the trashing of Harold's (still waiting on a hearing) and isn't impressed when Matt explains that Paige is likely to get slap on the wrist because it's only going to court due to her perusing it since the others aren't. She is now questioning him over his 360 and he explains that he can see how important it is to Lauren and asks her how Brad feels about it. Terese is immediately defensive, saying it's got nothing to do with him.
MATT: Whether we like it or not our families are tied up in it.
TERESE: This is a Lassiters matter.
He then says it would be better if they supported their partners and she replies that is what she is trying to do!
TERESE: I'm trying to protect my family.
Matt chooses not to respond to that, so Terese brings up the additional birthday get- together for Brad…including Lauren being there. That bit is news to him.
TERESE: Matt, our partners are getting closer and closer to Paige every day. If she's bad news the sooner we know the better.
Amber is ranting away to Daniel about Imogen taking the car hostage! Paige interrupts to suggest that Amber goes to get the car; citing possession is 9/10ths of the law.
PAIGE: It's not stealing if its half yours.
Amber asks for her sister's help but Daniel advises not to help one sister over another. Paige listens to Daniel's advice and says, “you know for once, he might actually be right,” and Amber's come back is she doesn't need to do anything, just tell her what to do despite Daniel's warning that this is going to be bad!
In the kitchen, Lauren points out to her dad the girls bonding, relived that it's finally happened but maybe if they knew what the discussion was about they might not be too happy!
Paige has hotwired the car and driven it into the driveway of #32 and they compare notes on ex's after Paige explained how she knew about hotwiring! It doesn't take Imogen long to discover the car is gone and she heads over to confront Amber and warns them that they are going down for what they did!
After Imogen has stomped off, Paige has a theory over why Imogen is being so hot- headed - it's because she likes Daniel. “He's definitely on her mind,” Paige says.
Lauren belatedly tells Matt about catching up with Brad (and Paige) for his birthday and he admits that he already knows because Terese told him. “Oh,” she says then explains that it was a last- minute thing for Paige and apologises for not including him in it last night.
MATT: Consider me included now.
Hospital/ Harold's Store
Karl runs through what is going to happen with Georgia before making an exit after Kyle arrives with her recovery gift – nuts, toffee and corn chips! She's not exactly jumping for joy at the pressie and is more interested in how things are going with Chris/Nate!
Chris is impressed that Nate has remembered about Georgia's operation as they enter the store. The pair talk about Chris' friends and he adds in that it was Georgia who persuaded him to have the date. “I'll have to remember and thank her,” Nate replies just as Chris answers his phone to her! Georgia is happy to hear things are going well with Chris' date and he ends the call to continue the date.
Imogen enters the store and apologises to Paige for her behaviour earlier but really its part of a subtle attempt to get Paige to admit to driving the car (Imogen was trying to record the conversation on her iPhone). Paige however is quickly onto her and doesn't incriminate herself.
PAIGE: Better luck next time.
“Doesn't anybody knock on this street,” Matt comments when Terese walks into their kitchen! She's round to see if he's thought about their earlier conversation and he tells her about Lauren immediately telling him about the meeting when he saw her earlier.
TERESE: So that means you're fine with it?
MATT: Honestly, my wife hanging out with another bloke and their kid…that's hard.
TERESE: You don't have to tell me about it!
Terese then puts a face on when she discovers that it's a picture of Paige (one of her baby ones) that Matt is putting on the sideboard.
MATT: Have you ever seen a family fall apart? You know what the kicker usually is? People being forced to choose. Picking sides is poison and it's rare to come back from that. Lauren and Brad have fought so hard to get Paige back and if we push them into a corner, there are going to be a lot more parties with us on the outside looking in. Withdraw the complaint before there's any more bad blood.
Daniel and Amber arrive in Ramsay Street to discover the car sitting now on the street with a couple of guys inspecting it. Imogen explains that she's sold the car to those guys for $300 who will strip the car for parts. “You are so petty,” Amber tells her before reluctantly having to agree to sell her half of the car to Imogen.
As soon as Daniel/Amber leave, Imogen turns round to the guys to announce that the sale (to them) is off!
Georgia comes round after the op and gets a check from Karl. He asks if she can speak and she ignores Kyle, squeaking out instead to ask Chris how his date went! Chris explains that it went well and all seem happy with the news before Kyle tells his fiancée:
KYLE: Seriously I love you but shut up!
Amber isn't happy to see the car sitting on the driveway of #22 and Paige suggests going out for sisterly drinks to help her get over it.
Daniel walks over to try and be peacemaker and his actions have helped as Imogen agrees to let him take the car out for their planned photography trip, throwing him the keys as she's not ready to give them herself to Amber yet.
Terese is happy that Imogen is being mature to lend Daniel/Amber the car and encourages her to try and work though it (if that is what she wants) to repair her friendship with Amber. “I'll think about it,” Imogen replies before getting up and leaving.
Brad approves of the advice his wife gave too and she confesses that “being lied to isn't fun,” and admits that she went after him last night.
TERESE: I saw you, the three of you, this little happy family unit.
BRAD: I'm so sorry.
TERESE: Well I can understand why you didn't tell me.
BRAD: I tried. I even invited you but when you said no, I was kind of relieved.
TERESE: I don't want Paige hurting my family.
BRAD: I know and I want to believe the best in her but I feel like I'm being ripped in two. It's not fair.
Both apologise to each other, Terese for making him feel pressured and Brad for making her feel excluded.
BRAD: I love you.
TERESE: I love you too.
Paige comes over to thank Terese for dropping the charges (Matt told her). She goes to head off having said what she wanted when Terese calls her back.
TERESE: I'm still not happy about the way you went about things, and trust doesn't come overnight.
PAIGE: I don't expect it to.
TERESE: But I don't want us to be enemies, so now I'm prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt.
PAIGE: And I'll do the same for you.
Paige sadly can't accept Terese's invitation to stay but she's happy to have been asked and after she leaves, Brad reaches over and takes his wife's hand as Imogen continues to glower from the garden.
Nate has joined Chris/Kyle in visiting Georgia too. While the boys chat, Georgia looks to be in pain and eventually her coughing gets Kyle's attention. “Can you go get someone,” he calls out to Chris/Nate when he spots that Georgia is coughing up blood.
