Suite 1 Eclipse Apartments
Daniel is looking at photos of Amber when Terese turns up, looking for Paul - no-one seems to know where he is. Daniel hasn't seen him either, but says he can't be far, so Terese decides to look in the Waterhole. Daniel thanks Terese for everything she's been doing for Paul, but she's uncomfortable at the praise.

Harold's Store
Toadie and Sonya are having dinner together, when Bailey comes in. He apologises for missing a meeting with Sonya earlier to talk about his drinking, saying he genuinely forgot, but isn't hiding from his issues etc. Sonya offers to go for a walk with Bailey now and discuss things, much to Toadie's frustration - but she kisses him and promises to be back soon.

Meanwhile, Josh invites Amber to a movie tomorrow, but she says she has to spend time in the darkroom to get her photos ready for the art exhibit she's preparing. Josh is perplexed as to why she has to use the darkroom when he bought her a digital camera, but she explains she found Lou's old film camera, and has had fun playing around with it. Josh offers to help her out in the darkroom, but she says she's not sure there'll be room for all three of them if Daniel is there too. Josh suggests they ask Daniel after her shift's finished, and Amber reluctantly agrees.

Suite 1 Eclipse Apartments
Amber and Josh call on Daniel, to ask about using the darkroom tomorrow. Daniel says it's fine and passes her the key, but Josh takes it instead, and she's forced to awkwardly explain he'll be helping her. Daniel doesn't look thrilled, but doesn't object. As Amber and Josh leave, Daniel wishes her luck for tomorrow.

The History Wall
The next day, Paul is looking mournfully at the mural on the wall, incorporating Kate's face. Karl turns up, and offers to volunteer his services as entertainment for the art exhibition. Paul distantly tells Karl that Terese is handling it, and suggests Karl give her a call.

Meanwhile, Sonya bumps into Toadie and gives him some flowers to thank him for a lovely night last night - even though he'd fallen asleep by the time she got back from her walk with Bailey! Sonya wonders where Nell is, and Toadie says Bailey has offered to look after her, to make up for interrupting them last night. Toadie suggests they take the opportunity to have a nice lunch together, but Sonya tells him she has to get back to the nursery to relieve Josie Lamb for an emergency dental appointment.

TOADIE: It shouldn't be this hard for a husband and wife to spend time together.

Sonya points out that Toadie has also been late home from work every night last week. Meanwhile, Georgia and Naomi pass, and stop to earwig on the increasingly heated argument.

TOADIE: That was unavoidable.
SONYA: What, and Josie's appointment isn't?
TOADIE: It feels to me like everyone and everything always takes priority in your life over me.
SONYA: That is not fair, Jarrod!

As the row gets louder, Toadie brings up Sonya's disappearance during dinner last night to talk to Bailey. She blames him for not saying anything, if he didn't want her to leave.

SONYA: I just cannot win with you!
TOADIE: 'Cause that's what this is about, isn't it, winning and losing?
SONYA: I just - I can't even be around you right now.
TOADIE: Oh, yeah, don't worry - it's my fault again (!)
SONYA: Yeah, this time it is!
TOADIE: Yeah, right, okay. Have a good day at work, on your day off (!)

Sonya storms off, leaving Toadie holding the flowers, while Naomi and Georgia watch with concern. Naomi, assuming the flowers were from Toadie to Sonya, thinks she's rejected them, and immediately sympathises with Toadie.

Lassiter's
In the darkroom, Josh looks totally bored while Amber develops photos. When he discovers she has another reel to process, he decides to go surfing with Brad instead. He kisses Amber goodbye, and she looks miffed.

The Waterhole
Karl is talking to Terese about her unofficial role assisting Paul with council business. Clearly concerned about it, Karl tells her that Paul shouldn't be palming council work onto her rather than his council staff. She claims she doesn't mind, and that she's not under pressure from Paul. But Karl warns her that nothing is what it seems when it comes to Paul.

KARL: You need to watch your back, or else you could end up knee-deep in one of his schemes.

Ramsay Street
Toadie is walking home with his flowers when Naomi catches up with him. She admits she saw him fighting with Sonya. Toadie tries to play it down, but admits he's sick of having to make an appointment to see his wife. Naomi sympathises, and suggests they go to lunch together instead since Bailey's already babysitting Nell.

NAOMI: Juicy burger. Crispy bacon. And I promise I will not touch your fries this time.

Toadie is easily convinced, albeit a little perplexed when Naomi disappears into her house to drop some things off before they go, and takes his flowers with her to put them in water!

Suite 1 Eclipse Apartments
Terese comes to visit Paul, and tells him she can't cover the council business for him any more - it's not her responsibility. Paul insists he wants her to carry on, telling her to clear her schedule and that he'll authorise a budget overspend at Lassiter's if she needs to get people in to cover. Terese refuses, saying it's unethical. She admits she's already signed his name on the application for extending the Lassiter's trading hours. Paul doesn't see what the problem is, and says she's overreacting. He begs her to reconsider, but she insists she's out, and he gets angry.

PAUL: You know what? Don't you dare waste my time by asking for any favours in the future. Since you've made your feelings on the subject so clear.

Paul shows Terese out, and Daniel, who has been eavesdropping, asks if there's any way he can help with the council paperwork.

PAUL: Oh, and then what - you jump on your skateboard and race over there to deliver it? Give me a break, would you?
DANIEL: Hey, if you want to be on your own, why don't you just say so? You don't need to treat me and Terese like dirt!
PAUL: Would you spare me the histrionics?
DANIEL: That's all you have to say after everything she's done for you? Working two jobs, going out of her way trying to cover for you. You know, for someone with so few friends, it is amazing how little you value them.

Uncharacteristically angry, Daniel storms out.

Lassiter's
Daniel joins Amber in the darkroom. He asks after Josh; Amber explains he left to go to the beach. Daniel admits he just lost it with Paul.

AMBER: You? You never get angry!

Daniel says he hasn't lost his temper like that in years, and that it freaked him out. He's about to leave her to it, but Amber convinces him to stay and talk to her about it.

Sonya's Nursery
Sonya's upset and it's leading to clumsiness at the nursery. Georgia intervenes, saying she saw the argument between her and Toadie earlier.

GEORGIA: If you want to talk, I'm here for you, okay?

Sonya bursts into tears, and Georgia gives a hug, as she pours out all her worries about her marriage and how she keeps fighting with Toadie. Georgia offers to cover for Josie at the nursery while Sonya goes to make amends with Toadie. Sonya thanks her, and goes off to do just that.

Lassiter's
In the darkroom, Amber reassures Daniel that he had every right to have a go at Paul, as sometimes people need to hear the truth. He thanks her for listening, and says he didn't mean what he said the other day - he doesn't want things to be weird between them. Amber admits it took her a while to get over his kiss with Paige, but says she knows she was overreacting. For his part, Daniel says he doesn't like Paige like that - there's no-one else for him but Amber. She makes an excuse to end the conversation by turning back to her photo development, but looks worried.

The Waterhole
Over lunch, Toadie is moaning to Naomi about how he's way down Sonya's priority list. Naomi repeats her suggestion that Toadie and Sonya could do with some time apart, saying it could work wonders. Toadie isn't sure, and changes the subject, asking about Naomi's stalker. She says she hasn't heard any more from him, and assumes he's lost interest. Naomi suggests she and Toadie share a milkshake, and Toadie goes to order it.

No 30
Sonya comes home to find Bailey still in the house, having an unpleasant time of it with Nell's nappies. She's surprised to learn Toadie isn't home yet, and calls him to find out where he is.

The Waterhole
Toadie's phone rings while he's at the bar ordering, and Naomi cancels the call on his behalf! He returns to their table with the milkshake, and he and Naomi dig in.

No 30
Sonya leaves Toadie a message, asking him to ring her back, then tells Bailey he can go, thanking him for babysitting.

The Waterhole
Karl observes from a distance as Paul comes in and talks to Terese. He's clearly emotional, saying he appreciates her friendship and all her help.

PAUL: Terese, I'm sorry for what I said earlier. You've been a real support - and I don't deserve your kindness or your loyalty.

Much to Terese's surprise he gets a bit tearful, and wanders off, as Karl continues to watch with curiosity. While Naomi's at the bar, Karl speaks to Toadie about Paul. He explains how Paul's palmed off a lot of his council duties onto Terese, and is failing to turn up to meetings and answer calls. Karl adds how he saw Paul staring at the picture of Kate on the History Wall.

KARL: He's obviously struggling. So I'm wondering if there's anything that can be legally done if he's not doing his job as mayor?
TOADIE: Alright - leave it with me. I'll see if there's some sort of precedent for this sort of thing.

Lassiter's
Back in the darkroom, Daniel brings lunch for himself and Amber, then admires the photos she's been developing, noticing the same details that she did. Daniel says it's further evidence that they're 'simpatico'.

DANIEL: It's Italian. It means we understand each other without having to say anything.
AMBER: Like, what kind of thing?
DANIEL: Like, you'd rather take one beautiful photo than a hundred mediocre ones. You always put your family and friends first. And you live life from the heart. How am I doing?
AMBER: How can you guess all of that?
DANIEL: I'm not guessing. I see you. The same way you see me.

There's an almost-kiss, but Amber rushes out at the last minute.

No 30
Sonya is in a mood when Toadie comes in. She explains that Georgia is covering at the nursery, and that she tried to call him so they could go out to lunch, but that he didn't call her back. Toadie apologises, saying he didn't see the missed call.

TOADIE: You should have kept trying.
SONYA: Oh, really? So it's my fault now that you don't pick up your phone or check it, is it?
TOADIE: No, I'm just saying that if you did keep trying, then I probably would have seen it.
SONYA: Why does this keep happening? I love you. I don't want to fight with you.
TOADIE: I don't want to fight either.
SONYA: Well this is all we seem to be doing lately. I just - I hate this, Jarrod. I really hate this.

Out of ideas, Toadie takes Naomi's advice and suggests Sonya go away and spend some time on her own, as maybe they would benefit from some time apart. He suggests Sonya take Nell with her as well. Clearly upset by what he's said, Sonya coldly says that maybe he's right.

Lassiter's
In the darkroom, Daniel is surprised when the door opens, and Amber reappears. Without saying a word, she closes the door behind her and kisses him passionately. There's a brief, loaded pause, before they dive in for seconds.
