- Imogen wanting to be with Mason even if it means they date in secret.
- Mason receiving notification Brad is suing him.
- Mark finding the evidence that could mean it was an accident but proving it won't be easy.
- Sonya opening up to Toadie about Jacob.
- Kate annoyed that Mark seems to be everywhere.
- Mark enquiring about leasing #24.
“I used to look like that in my day,” Lou comments to Karl on seeing topless Mark mow the nature strip on the street and when he follows it up with saying “now its all headed south,” Karl decides another lap running round the block is in order!
Mason catches a quick word with Imogen who is out washing her car. She hopes that they can be open by her becoming his girlfriend (something he likes the sound of) now they've figured out what caused the accident. Just as they are about to kiss, Mark passes them and says that Toadie is already at #32 so they both head towards the house.
Toadie looks at the karabiner unsure if it's the right one but they (Lauren, Mark and Mason) convince him it is however Matt isn't sure it's enough, something Toadie agrees with as its all speculation. “This proves there's another plausible explanation,” Lauren interjects, so Toadie agrees to go do some more digging before having a chat with Brad.
“Oh come on, they're pointing the finger at someone else, how convenient is that?” Brad bemoans to Toadie and thinks Mason is lying but Toadie points out that it was Mark's theory and asks if he's lying too?
TOADIE: If this was the karabiner that Josh used and it shattered that explains the accident.
TOADIE: I'm telling you both as Mason's lawyer and your friend this is enough to sway a judge. This is reasonable doubt.
Brad still wants someone held accountable for the accident especially since Josh's future has been compromised and as far as he is concerned its still Mason.
TOADIE: Guess I'll be hearing from your lawyer then.
Road outside community centre
Kate turns down Mark's invite to join him for a coffee as she's heading to a yoga session and thanks him for the help he's doing with Mason prior to entering the centre.
As Sonya exits the centre, she thanks Bob for the support he's given her over the past few days. Bob points out that she gave herself (and others) the advice and asks if she's like to run the group as he's got to move interstate for a new job.
Sonya is telling Lauren about the offer Bob suggested but is reluctant to take up the offer because Toadie already thinks she's got too many outside commitments, even though Bob said it would only be 2- 3 hours per week. Lauren thinks she should take it up as it will help her too.
On the way out of the store, Sonya runs into Callum who tries to sweet- talk her into helping him get his learners permit as Josie already has hers. Sonya explains that she doesn't think either of them have the time to help just now and his reply is that its only 2- 3 hours per week and surely she's got time for that?!
Imogen is trying to convince the rest of her family that it was an accident and while Terese is sympathetic to what she's saying (mainly because she thinks the litigation could run for years) Josh/Brad are unconvinced especially since there's no proof to say that the gear they used wasn't switched with the stuff the police checked out.
And it looks like Imogen may have proof after all with the photos she took on the day on her iPhone – one of them clearly shows the karabiner Josh was wearing.
Imogen rushes into see Toadie to ask to see the photos of the evidence as she thinks she's got proof to show that the company switched karabiners. “How?” he asks but Imogen isn't saying until she sees the photos. Toadie digs around in his drawer to find them and then hands them over.
IMOGEN: I knew it.
She then shows him the photos on her phone and it proves that the two of them are different. Just as he's convinced, Mason and Matt arrive to hear the good news too.
Eastside Dingoes Gym
Toadie is updating Brad with the latest news and suggests that he sues the company instead as he's got a stronger case against them than going after Mason. Matt interjects to say the police are looking into it too. Almost reluctantly, Brad concedes that it was an accident… an avoidable accident but isn't willing to let Mason off the hook just yet – he still shouldn't allowed novices to go abseiling.
Lou gives Mark permission to put a ‘housemate wanted' poster up on the noticeboard.
Matt arrives to confirm to Lauren/Mason that Brad has dropped the lawsuit and Mason immediately picks up that he doesn't seem happy about that news.
MATT: Let's just say, I don't think we'll be having the Willises over for dinner any time soon.
MASON: Right, Brad's still angry at me.
Lauren says that you can't expect them to change their attitude overnight; he's got to give them time to get over it.
Imogen gets a text from Mason saying ‘Your dad still blames me' and talks about it to her mum. Terese questions if her staunch defence is really to do with her friendship with Amber and she's quick to reply “of course, why would you even ask that!” Terese explains that she's gotten really worked up about it and Imogen puts it down to hating the fighting between the families. “I don't like it either,” Terese concedes and time will sort things out. “How long?” Imogen asks and Terese's honest reply is she doesn't know but agrees to talk to them to try and hurry things along.
Sonya arrives to tell Toadie about Cal wanting his learners permit and is told that she'll have to be the one to give him lessons as he doesn't have the time. “You're a much better driver than I am,” she whines trying to get him to change his mind, so Toadie then accuses her of putting her family last priority again.
SONYA: Okay, how could you even say that? You're the one saying no to the lessons.
TOADIE: If this is going to happen, you're going to do it, end of story.
SONYA: You're only acting his way because you're still annoyed at me.
TOADIE: This is about Callum.
SONYA: No, I think this is anything but Callum.
However their conversation comes to an end as Toadie answers the ringing phone.
Sonya is trying to persuade Cal to hang on a wee bit longer for the lessons but its falling on deaf ears, so eventually she concedes to giving him lessons. She then gets on her phone to call Bob to say she can't be the meeting convener, explaining that she's got to spend more time with her family, who have to come first.
Lauren gives Toadie a free coffee on the house and hears that Toadie won't accept any fee for the legal stuff. She then mentions to him about Sonya taking on the convener's role and the penny drops as to why she wanted him to be the one to give Callum the driving lessons.
Kate spots the flyer Karl is putting up on the noticeboard to raise money for the hospital. When she takes it down to read, she notices the flyer Brennan put up looking for a housemate and doesn't seem too thrilled to find that he's living in #24.
“What are you trying to do?!” Kate greets Mark with when he opens the door to her and his reply is to answer the door! That of course wasn't what she was looking for so she spells it out a bit more clearly – what's he doing moving back into #24?
MARK: Why shouldn't I? The house is available; I needed a place to live.
He adds if she wants to rent one of his rooms! Not surprisingly, the answer is no so she asks if this move is permanent. Mark replies that he isn't sure about how permanent it will be and Kate then says she doesn't want him being in her face, he reminds that that she doesn't even live on Ramsay Street!
MARK: If you don't want to lay eyes on me you don't have to!
“Do you have any idea how weird this is? This was my place,” Kate asks when he tells her to enter the house and he points out that it ‘was' but he also had happy time in it too. “Of course I remember,” Kate replies.
KATE: It's just that we've moved on, I've moved on. There are things that…
MARK: What kind of things?
“Nothing,” she replies before telling him to forget it and leaving the house.
Mason/Imogen are trying hard to resist holding each other's hands as they walk through the carpark discussing how things are with their families. “I just want all of this to stop,” Mason comments and Imogen replies that there is a solution – they could end this but both realise that they can't give the other person up so it's going to be continuing to meet in secret.
IMOGEN: Basically, if they find out about us, it will all become a huge mess and we'll have to break up.
MASON: I won't let that happen. I want you in my life; I don't want to be without you. We'll be alright, there's no way I'm going to let anyone keep us apart.
To reaffirm his love for her, he quickly gives her a kiss before they start walking.
Callum is chatting on the phone to Josie about learning to drive when Sonya looks up from preparing the supper to see that Nell has taken her first steps.
Toadie is working hard… playing patients on his PC and ignores Sonya calling him.
Number 30/Rebecchi Law
Callum is quickly trying to record Nell walking on the iPad as Sonya wishes that Toadie would pick up the phone to tell him about this momentous moment but he's still playing patients not realising what he's just missed.
