Nursery
Matt and Lauren arrive, and there's tension for all of 5 seconds as Bailey turns up unharmed. He claims that Gem's not dangerous, and what happened with Georgia was an accident. Lauren is dubious that you can steal a car by accident. Bailey says he knows Gem has problems, but when he told her, she ran off.

Hospital - reception
Georgia is sitting at reception, and she's very jumpy. Maybe it's the creepy music, maybe it's the cameraman sneaking up. Nah, it's Kyle with a pizza, saying that Karl had told him about the car. He asks if she thinks Gem might do something. She's not sure...

KYLE: Well, you know it's medically proven that pizza makes you feel better.
GEORGIA: Really? Is it? I must have missed that class at nursing college.

They smile at each other, and Georgia agrees to share the pizza.

Charlie's
Jacob tells Sonya he's sorry that she missed Callum's dinner. She says they can catch up at home. He's thrilled that Elliot is coming home the next day, and Sonya offers to help him get organised. He says he can't thank her enough for what she's done. She tells him to lead a wonderful life with Elliot, and suggests he include his in-laws.

SONYA: Look, really, family, it's the most important thing.

Lassiters complex
Terese leaves the hotel and bumps into Paul. She tells him that his tab in Charlie's is building up.

PAUL: That's how you win in politics. You have to keep greasing the wheels.
TERESE: Uh, yes, but you need to pay for the grease. Lassiters isn't your private election fund.

She tells him to pay by the morning, saying that he can't expect her to waive it. He says that it doesn't matter what she threatens him with.

PAUL: You cannot win this fight.

Terese says that both she and Lucy believe he's bluffing as it's his legacy. Meanwhile, he owes over $700, which she wants on her desk. He says he's busy with a campaign meeting.

Hospital - reception
Kyle and Georgia are chatting when Karl and Kate arrive. Georgia sees Kate and looks awkward. Kate asks if anyone knows where Gem is. Georgia looks away and Kyle answers that they don't. Georgia is going to see a patient, but Karl says he'll go. Kate says she'll walk home. Georgia then asks about her shoulder, and says she's really grateful for what she did. Gem rushes in, saying she's cut her hand. Georgia takes her into a treatment room to dress it.

Hospital - treatment room
Georgia is treating Gem, who claims that the knife slipped when she was cooking dinner. Georgia asks why she took off. Gem said she was waiting until she thought Georgia was ready to hear, because everybody assumes the worst about her. Kate walks in, and Gem screams at her to get out. Outside the room, Kyle tells Kate that hospital security will keep an eye on Gem until the police arrive.

No 32
Lauren asks Bailey what he hoped to achieve by meeting Gem. He says he thought maybe she needed a friend, but then he realised he was sucked in again.

BAILEY: I mean, she was so nice when I said the right things. But the second I said something she didn't want to hear, well, she went off. She was so vicious when I suggested that there was something wrong with her.

Matt gets a message calling him to the hospital, and Lauren tells Bailey that Gem manipulated him, and he has to stop thinking he can help her. She needs professional help.

Hospital - treatment room
Georgia wants to know if this injury was a way to get to see her.

GEM: It was an accident.
GEORGIA: Just like what happened with the quad bikes was an accident? Your mum told Toadie what really happened.

Gem moves away from her, saying that she'd lashed out after being betrayed. Georgia says she knows how that feels.

GEM: I did not betray you. I was showing you the truth.
GEORGIA: By humiliating me in public?

The two of them continue with raised voices and Kyle comes in to see if everything's OK.

KYLE: I'm just making sure Georgia's OK.
GEM: Why wouldn't she be?
KYLE: Because the last time you were left with her, she nearly died.
GEM: Oh, don't you pretend you care. You're the ones that cheated on her.

Gem reminds Georgia that she's always been there for her ever since they've been little, and that Georgia used to look up to her. Kyle tries to get between them, and Gem accuses him of not being sorry for what he did to Georgia. Kate tries to defend him, and Gem says that Kate is in love with him.

GEORGIA: Just tell her that she's wrong.
GEM: I'm not! She's loved him all along!
KATE: That's not true.
GEM: That's why you did it in the first place.
KATE: I didn't even feel this way then.

Cue stunned pause.

GEORGIA: What do you mean, "then"?
KATE: Just stop listening to her.
GEM: You're a liar. She's always lied to you, she always will.
GEORGIA: Kate, tell me the truth - are you in love with Kyle?
KATE: Yes.

Matt arrives and takes Gem away for a chat, while Georgia looks stunned. Kate has taken the opportunity to slip out.

Hospital - reception
Georgia asks Matt if Gem is being charged with anything, as she needs psychiatric help. Matt says that is being organised, but he asks Kate if she wants to press charges over hacking her email account. Kate says she wants to go home, and think about it. Matt asks Georgia if she wants to press charges over assault or the theft of her car, which she doesn't. Matt leaves, and Kate tells Georgia she's sorry. Georgia asks her coldly if she meant it, or just said it to shut Gem up. Kate says it's true, and wants to explain, but Georgia tells her to go home, and tells Kyle the same. Outside the hospital, Kate looks like she can't believe what she's done.

Kyle comes in and sits down, looking shell shocked.

Hospital - treatment room
Georgia sobs.

No 30
Sonya comes in, yawning and collapses on the couch. She notices the balloons and party decorations and suddenly remembers...

No 32
Sonya tells Lauren that it's Nell first birthday, and she forgot to make the cake.

SONYA: Talk about the worst mother ever!

Lauren offers to put aside a cake at the store, but Sonya says she promised to make one.

SONYA: I promised to make it from scratch.
LAUREN: Yeah, but Nell won't know.
SONYA: Yes, but I will. I'll know.

Lauren gives her the ingredients she needs, and points out that the importance of teaching your kids about helping people in need. Sonya takes the point, although now she can do both.

Lassiters reception
Paul leaves with a man in a suit. Terese asks the receptionist if Paul has been to West Waratah (he hasn't), if he's left a cheque (he hasn't), and who the man was ("a guest of Mr Robinson"). Terese frowns.

No 30
Sonya is busy mixing a lurid green cake, when there's a knock at the door. It's Jacob with a bunch of flowers. She invites him to Nell's party, and he wipes some bright pink icing off her cheek with his thumb, which makes her uncomfortable.

Lassiters reception
Paul and the man are checking something on the hotel computer and Terese comes over to see why a complete stranger is accessing the computer in her hotel. Paul says it's his hotel and it's not a stranger. Terese says she's in charge, and he should start talking before she calls security. Paul decides to do the introductions. Nigel Sheppard is head of acquisitions for the Quill Hotels group.

PAUL: Nigel and I have just negotiated an alliance for this hotel to join the group.
TERESE: What? You're actually leaving Lassiters?
PAUL: Mmm, as soon as the ink's dried on the contract. And they'll probably want to bring in their own manager which means... oh, your position will cease to exist. Awww.
