Previously on Neighbours
- Jacob doing a runner leaving Elliot with the Rebecchi's.
- Lauren opening up to Lucy about having another child… Brad's child.
- Gem violently pushing Georgia that she hits her head off the stove and collapses to the ground unconscious.
- Georgia being found.
- Toadie explaining to Georgia who worked out where she was.
- Georgia telling Kate that they can't be friends.
Kate is telling Chris about what happened with Georgia and he can't believe it. “I don't think she's ever going to forgive me,” Kate bemoans and Chris tells her never to say never but adds that if she does want to make things up with Georgia then she's got to stay away from Kyle (she opened up to him about her feelings for Kyle still being there).
Kyle grumpily comes home after Georgia has kicked him out. Sheila suggests it might just have been too soon and reassures him that she will eventually forgive him, the love they had won't evaporate overnight regardless of how much he stuffs up! Kyle doesn't think that after seeing how Georgia looked, so Sheila suggests things will be better after a good nights sleep.
KYLE: It's not as though they can get worse!
Toadie is trying to settle Nell as Elliot is disrupting her routine. He wants them to contact the DHS but Sonya is firmly against that happening because she's sure Jacob will be back.
With their attention drawn to Jacob/Elliot, they've totally forgotten about picking Callum up from the airport and they apologise profusely when they realise who has entered the house!
Number 30 (next day)
Cal distributes the pressies he's taken back from China and Toad begins to fill him in all that has been happening whilst he was away.
Imogen begins stripping the Christmas decorations from the car in retribution for Mason running off to be with Kate. Mason denies that he's still interested in Kate although concedes that a part of him will always care for her, he thinks what they have could be so great
IMOGEN: A relationship is more than a few laughs and a kiss.
MASON: Yes, but that's a good place for one to start.
Mason wants to get straight to the kissing part but Imogen pushes him away and thinks that for the sake of their friendship, they should just leave things as they are.
As they enter the house, Josh is after an explanation over what he saw when he arrived home but Imogen is refusing to say. Eventually she tells him that she and Mason kissed at the party.
JOSH: Why the hell would you go near that loser?!
IMOGEN: I don't know… because my brain and sense of sanity clearly went away during the Christmas holidays and I became an idiot.
Josh is relived to hear that they aren't getting together and finally gets from his sister that was the reason for what he saw when he arrived into the street but she's not up for talking about it.
Matt trades places with Kate who is in for comfort food (ice- cream) to go with her PJ's and a pile of DVD's back at the penthouse suite.
KATE: It's an ancient Kate Ramsay remedy called ‘avoiding the world'!
Lauren quizzes her if that's the right way to go and Kate isn't sure but adds that it's the one with the least hassle before exiting the store.
As soon as she exits the store, Kyle spots her, but he does not want to talk (what she thought) but to see if she's seen Bossy as the dog has run off. Kate volunteers to help look for her and they head off looking once Kate throws her ice- cream in the bin.
Kyle/Kate are looking for Bossy and as they do that, she urges Kyle to give Georgia time, she will come round. “You sound like Gran,” he comments and is told that he should listen to her, she's a wise woman.
KYLE: This time you're both wrong, Georgia doesn't want a bar of me.
KATE: Well maybe not right now, but she will, you guys will sort it out, you have to.
Josh is round wanting a word with Mason! He explains what he witnessed then tells Mason that Imogen doesn't need him mucking her around. Mason confirms that Imogen wants nothing more to do with him, so is told to respect that! That comment doesn't go down well with Mason, and tries to make it clear to Josh that he/Imogen are just friends, nothing more.
JOSH: Good, see it stays that way.
Elliott still isn't settling and even Lauren is concerned for him and suggests getting medical help but Sonya is reluctant to do that in case it gets Jacob into trouble with the authorities. Lauren asks why is she getting involved and her reply is that she can't help it, because she knows what Jacob is going through being scared and overwhelmed with your first child. This comment strikes accord with Lauren and she starts to get a bit emotional but hides the real reason why when Sonya notices.
Kyle is still fretting that he's not found Bossy as he/Kate walk up the street, with Kate trying to reassure him that she will turn up. He eventually spots his dog outside #30… outside of Georgia's bedroom but she refuses to come when Kyle calls her. “She must be missing Georgia,” he tries to explain it by and goes towards the dog, leaving Kate on the pavement.
Kyle insists on making Kate lunch to make up for her having to ditch the ice- cream. Kate is still having pain from her arm and when Kyle has a look, spots a huge bruise there. Chris walks in on them and when they explain why Kate is there/about Bossy, he thinks its a sign for Kyle not to give up on Georgia. “I guess you could be right,” Kyle replies and treats Bossy to a juicy bone as a reward.
“I thought you were going to trying and avoid Kyle, not have romantic lunch together,” Chris comments to Kate after Kyle heads outside to give Bossy her bone. She explains that she was simply being Kyle's friend “but then…” Kate doesn't finish the sentence and instead quickly leaves the house, fearing that she may make things worse.
Sonya arrives home deadbeat with Elliot/Jacob and Toadie suggests that they go out for supper, which Cal is all for as long as it isn't Chinese! Almost reluctantly, she agrees to go out and reassures Toadie that she is fine, just simply tired. Again, he wants to contact the DHS but she vetoes that and contacting his in- laws as they are in Adelaide.
Lauren packs away the Christmas decorations while Matt/Mason play chess. “I love you,” Lauren tells her husband and Mason thinks his parents are auditioning for the next episode of Oprah!
MATT: I think talking with Lucy has made your mum reflective. I have been too. Last year was tough but I reckon it made us stronger and I've got a good feeling about 2014, it's going to be the year of the Turners.
Matt spots Lauren staring (she's looking at the teddy) and when he picks her up on it, agrees with what he's said.
LAUREN: It's going to be a really good year.
Kyle catches up with Kate to hand over a replacement tub of ice- cream and an invite for her to come over to #26 and hang out. Kate turns his offer down citing that he promised to help Paul but he wants to know why she is being weird. “I'm not,” she protests but when he pushes her, she bluntly tells him that she isn't a replacement for Georgia.
KATE: I'm not your surrogate girlfriend okay, this has to stop.
Toadie/Callum discuss where they can go for supper but Sonya doesn't want to go out as she's just got Elliott settled and doesn't want to risk it. Toadie offers Susan as a babysitter but Sonya wants a calm night beginning with baths for the youngsters.
With everyone occupied, Toadie gets online to search for a funeral notice for Hannah Holmes (Jacob's late wife). He tracks it down and gets the name of Hannah's parents (Maryanne and Victor Sutton) and then tries a further search to obtain a phone number for them. That search is successful too, so he gets out his mobile and starts dialling the Adelaide number. Once connected, and verifying he's talking to the right people, he then explains why he is calling.
