Previously on Neighbours
- Gem moving into #30.
- Sonya chatting to Eric's wife then trying to persuade Toadie to help them.
- Josh getting a punch in the face from Chris for talking 'off the record' to a journalist about Chris/Hudson.
Number 26
Chris is nursing the hand used to punch Josh with a bag of frozen peas and Sheila isn't giving him any sympathy while Kate/Kyle are astonished to hear he punched someone! They then turn the situation around to try and give him some advice, which Chris doesn't appreciate and tells them to stay out of his life.
Number 22
Brad checks his son's injuries out and although he doesn't think his cheek is broken, still wants them to go to the hospital. Josh then tells his dad all that happened and Brad says that it's not his fault and that he (Chris) won't be getting away with it!
Number 26
Matt comes round to chat to Chris after being at #22 and when he can offer no explanation, arrests the lad. Kate goes to get Toadie but Chris refuses any legal help at all, despite his housemates trying to tell him that's a daft idea!
Rebecchi Law
Eric is surprised to be back at the law firm and Toadie explains to him how it came about. Toadie takes him into his office and lets Eric explain what happened and after hearing that, thinks there might be a glimmer of hope for him and is told to leave it with him.
Number 30
Sonya is lavishing some personal praise on Toadie when he arrives home having told her about meeting Eric.
Living with the family is beginning to get on Gem's nerves and she tells Georgia that she thinks it's time she moved out (now she's got a job to pay rent) and drags her out to look at a perspective property...
Ramsay Street
... which is the old Kapoor house that is up for lease. Gem wants Georgia to move in with her reminding her that they promised to do so when they were little and will be just over the road should Toadie require any babysitting duties.
Charlie's
Georgia is telling Chris about her potential move and he's all for it as long as he has visitation rights! Gem enters with the lease application form and gets Georgia to fill it in given she knows the owner. As Kyle gets ready to leave, he tells Georgia about how mad it is at home and she quickly suggests that he moves in with her. He's a bit stunned as they've never had a conversation about this previously, and he leaves promising that they will chat about it later especially as she seems quite stunned to have suggested it in the first place!
Number 26
Sheila has bailed Chris out and he's not exactly happy at being freed! They all (Kyle/Kate are there too) want to know what happened as none of them think the article was that bad. Sheila is extremely peeved at him for not yet reading Hudson's letter and Kyle had a big go at him too as its starting to affect them. Chris is still as blasé about it, reminding them (Kyle/Kate) that they are fine ones to speak about hurting other people. Kyle/Kate look awkwardly at each other while Sheila wonders what on earth he's talking about.
Kyle tells Chris that he's had enough and that he's moving too. This stuns Sheila especially and Kyle explains that the invite to move in has just happened but he can't live with Chris any more.
KYLE: You know what, if you keep doing what you're doing it's only a matter of time before everyone else gives up on you as well.
Number 30
Kyle is round to double check that Georgia still wants him to move in, adding too that he's more than eager to move. She's a bit hesitant as she feels he should still be supporting Chris, even though Kyle has said that is no longer possible with his current attitude. After a wee bit more of a chat, they agree to move in with one another and with Gem's approval although the lease agreement will need changing later on to add his name to it.
Rebecchi Law
Eric is back and Toadie comes out of his office looking not very happy. Toadie has made some calls including one to the instructor who claims that Eric turned up that day drunk, Eric admits having a couple - he was on holiday after all, and was told he shouldn't ski. Eric hopes they can still sue for negligence but Toadie firmly tells him no, that the accident was all down to him. He pleads for help for his family but Toadie points out to him bluntly that he's not a victim but a conman. "Thanks for nothing," is Eric's parting words before leaving the office.
Lassiters Complex
Eric exits the law office and goes to sit down at one of the tables belonging to Harold. Kate gets up to go chat to Brad at the other side of the complex, stupidly leaving her laptop lying, and when she's chatting to him, Eric goes to read the article that appeared about Josh and looks intensely at the family photo of the Willises on it.
Kate's chat with Brad is about her pleading with him to drop the charges against Chris so he doesn't end up with a criminal conviction. He doesn't seem to be willing to do that, especially since Chris hasn't even apologised, so she asks that he at least thinks about it.
Number 22
Josh and Brad are back from the hospital - no broken bones but he's not allowed to do any training until the swelling subsides, around a week, much to the lad's frustration.
Matt drops round to finalise Josh's statement but before they begin, Brad asks how Chris was when he spoke to Matt (co- operative) and if he will have a criminal record (probably yes). Josh is curious about the questions his dad is asking and he explains that he is wondering if it would be better to sort it out among themselves but Josh is angry that he might miss out on making the national squad though not training and doesn't want it to appear that he's being punished while Chris gets off with it. This convinces Brad that they want to proceed as planned, so Matt sits down to finalise the statement.
Number 26
Chris is sitting out in the backyard and debating still whether to read the letter from Hudson or not. After a trip down memory lane with some flashbacks, he decides not to read it and sets it alight using one of the candles that is burning away on the table.
Inside the house, Sheila 'punishes' Kyle by not giving him any of the spag bol she's cooked since she feels its time he learned to cook as he is moving out!
"She's not happy about you moving out," Kate tells him after Sheila leaves to go sit outside and have supper with Chris. "What gave it away," he replies before going to help himself to the leftovers and Kate admits that she is surprised by the speed of his announcement. She then asks if it's due to her (since Georgia is boycotting the house when she is at home) and that they've had their moments too. "Should I be the one moving out?" she asks him when he doesn't reply back to her immediately and is told "no" because he loves Georgia and moving in together is the next step for them. Kate is relieved with the answer and tells him that she will miss him but does give him a general warning to watch himself with Gem although he doesn't really twig at the warning.
Number 30
Gem calls the agent pretending to be Georgia to say they are no longer interested in #24! Georgia comes into the room just as Gem hung up and is told that they lost out on #24 to a family. Gem suggests that the next place they look for should be smaller, ie a flat, heavily hinting (not picked up by Georgia) that it should just be the two of them, that Kyle shouldn't be involved.
Final commercial break later and Toadie has obviously brought Sonya up to speed with the later developments in Eric's case when the man in question comes calling to the house. "I've found my angle," he tells Toadie - he is now going to be suing Toadie for negligence. Eric has worked out the Imogen connection and when Toadie counteracts that nobody will believe his lies, he pulls going to the law society thread out of the bag.
ERIC: I have nothing but time on my hands okay and I will take this as far as I have to, to prove that you are a dodgy lawyer.
(Toadie shakes his head at that one)
ERIC: Or you can just pay me outright alright, save yourself the trouble. The choice is yours; I'm going to give you until lunchtime tomorrow to make the decision.
Toadie is absolutely gobsmacked as he closes the door on Eric and goes inside to tell Sonya that he thinks he's just been blackmailed.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Toadie ready for a fight.
- Kyle wanting to know why Georgia cancelled the application for #24.
- Georgia protesting it wasn't her, so Kyle suggesting she has a word with her cousin.
- Imogen being a shoo-in for School Captain.
- Amber deciding to run against Imogen.
