- Paul denying seeing Marty.
- Paul asking Marty if he was the one that run over Robbo?
Paul drops round to rant at Terese following a call from the police asking him to attend to make a statement. She tells him to calm down as if they stick to the story, he will be fine. Terese also promises to sort Jack's room out as it was let to someone while he was in hospital and now he's being released wants him back in his old room.
Once outside the house, Paul calls Marty telling him that they need to meet.
Sonya tries to pacify Callum with reasons why Josie could be legitimately avoiding him when he asks for advice about it. They are soon joined by a despondent Toadie who is home from work early as there is nothing to do. Sonya decides to cheer the boys up - they are all going to take part in the latest treasure hunt.
Cal is doing the treasure hunt with Bailey and run into Josie who is also at the community centre checking out a clue. They invite her to join their team but she turns them down, saying that she will work alone.
Paul meets Marty as arranged and tells him who is in the frame for the Robbo hit. He then hands over an envelope stuffed full of dollars for Marty to disappear until someone is convicted.
Toadie isn't impressed with Sonya dressing/acting like a pirate to cheer him up nor at the fact she's arranging a party for Lucas and Vanessa.
Bailey drops round to see if Cal is home as they split up to do the hunt and now he can't find him, but is told he isn't home.
“Go be anti social!” Sonya tells Toadie after she gets fed up of him not getting into the hunting mood and he quickly disappears with his coffee from the store. Susan trades places with him and tries to tell Sonya that how Toadie is behaving is just his way of coping.
Josie appears too and wants some help from Susan about one of the clues but she is in the dark about them as only a few Year 11/12 students know. She then accepts Sonya's invitation to attend the Lucas/Vanessa party at Charlie's despite her saying that she wouldn't know most people.
Jack arrives back from the hospital and finds he's not in his previous room however he has been moved to a different one but the view will make up for it being a smaller room.
The Concierge take Jack to his room and Paul tells Terese that he isn't impressed at what she has done. Terese then informs him that Jack's credit card was declined and was directed to cut the card up too!
TERESE: Jack's completely broke.
Jack's hotel room
Paul arrives and comes straight to the point, telling Jack his card has been declined. He then seems stunned when Jack informs him that he's broke… because he's given it all away!
JACK: Let's face it, you can't take it with you!
Jack explains why he is broke - that he has an inoperable brain aneurism and has known for the last 6 months (the heart attack was a side effect of the medication) and hadn't bargained on living so long! Paul is struggling to comprehend him not having any money.
JACK: In the end the moneys not important, its people. I'm just sorry it's taken me so long to figure that out.
Erinsborough High Radio
Josie and Cal end up at the station trying to see if there are any clues lying around to help them. She mentions being invited to the party and Cal tells her she might not want to go as its lame then tells her about the tension at home (Toadie thinking that he ran Robbo down) but firmly believes that he didn't do it. Josie then walks towards him and kisses him but Cal is stunned at what she's just done and backs off slightly, causing her to do a runner from the station.
Jack's hotel room
Jack is busy packing when Paul rushes up to his room after the front desk told him that Jack was checking out – he doesn't want to bludge since he can't pay his bill. “I'm not going to evict the founder of this hotel over an unpaid account,” Paul tells him but Jack doesn't like the charitable offer because he thinks it's being done to avoid a PR stunt. “I'm perfectly happy the way I am,” Paul retorts and isn't impressed at the guilt trip either when Jack adds that when Paul is on his death bed there will be nobody around it.
Jack reassures Paul that he will pay off the bill by using the winnings from the latest treasure hunt (its $10,000) but Paul doesn't want him digging it out of the ground, so Jack writes on a piece of paper where the money is before handing it to Paul.
Susan does her best to get Toadie out of the doldrums he is in and does seem to get through to him when she asks what advice he'd give a client in the same position as him.
In another corner of the store, Callum tells Bailey about Josie kissing him and he admits to telling her that Cal liked her a little bit more than he actually does. Cal isn't impressed at his mate, especially since she's going to the party too, and orders Bailey to help figure out what to do with her.
As Jack's bags are being loaded into a taxi, Paul tells him that the balance of the treasure hunt money has been put into his account. Jack is impressed… because the treasure hunt money hasn't been dug up and tells Paul that he passed the test!
JACK: I needed to know that you've learned something from me before I left and I'm happy to say you passed with flying colours.
Paul rejects Jack's offer of a handshake in favour of a hug, before the famous yellow taxi departs the hotel complex.
Terese comes out of the hotel to notify Paul that his Ferrari is missing and is surprised to hear him tell her that he sold it especially since he loved it!
PAUL: What can I say, it wasn't the right colour!
Sonya and Sheila are decorating the place for the party when Susan arrives to lend a hand too. She is surprised to see Toadie arrive carrying a bunch of flowers too but for her not Vanessa. He apologises and thanks her for the support she has been given him then suggests that Susan and Sheila can finish the decorating so they can have some quality alone time!!!
“I hear you are looking for me,” Marty tells Det. Oakley.
People are starting to arrive for the party and Sonya/Toadie socialise with some of the non- speaking extras. Brad and Terese arrive and she tells them about identifying Marty.
And at the station, Marty is having a nice conversation with the detective.
Sonya and Toadie look relieved to hear that Marty has been identified and that it could help clear Lucas too.
Marty is explaining why he decided to help Lucas but isn't being believed; instead the detective puts it to him that he really wanted the money and ran Robbo down. He rejects that accusation and instead tells what he saw – that when he got back to his car he saw someone, a professional, totally wasted and who really shouldn't have been behind the wheel of a car.
“I feel like I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel,” Toadie declares to Sonya. Both look as deliriously happy as the other.
Det. Oakley is showing Marty pictures of the suspects and he picks Toadie out.
