There is an update to the titles this week. The Willis family have replaced the Kate/Paul shot for #22. Joshua and Imogen join the second pool scene. Paul now joins Lucas/Vanessa/Patrick walking up Ramsay Street (Paul catches the cricket ball this time). And the final change is that Kate has joined the #26 shot.

Number 26
Kate lets Mark into the house relived that he is indeed alive. He explains why he didn't talk to her at the lake (he saw her with another guy) and figured it was easier to stay out of her life. "You were dead!" she replies and he explains how a hit was ordered on him (to be carried out by the now deceased Wes Holland) and it was decided to fake his death (and all the evidence too) in order to keep him alive.

KATE: I thought I'd lost you forever.
MARK: I thought you'd chosen not to be with me.

Kate explains that they just missed him. He reveals that with Wes dead they said he was now free to go home... to wherever that is. Mark explains that he's been hiding out near Sydney at the Blue Mountains teaching abseiling but despite the new life thought constantly about Kate.

MARK: Are you happy Kate?

She doesn't answer that question directly, citing that she needs to process all that has happened, so he hands her his number asking for her to contact him, before exiting the house.

MARK: It's good to see you.

Number 30
Kate is over telling Georgia all that has happened and she asks if she's going to fall for Mark again and Kate replies she is trying not to think of that! "I don't know what to think," she admits to Georgia, so she goes back to the beginning suss out Kate's feelings. Georgia asks how she felt when he disappeared (heartbroken/unfinished business) and tells her to meet up with him to talk things through. Kate realises she needs answers too and the next dilemma is whether to tell Mason just now or not! Georgia recommends no as she doesn't think Mason has anything to worry about because all Kate is after is closure with Mark.

Hospital
Karl gives Steph the news that she is being transferred today. Now she is back on her meds, she is distraught at what she did.

STEPH: Lucas must hate me.
KARL: I think he understands you didn't know what you were doing.
STEPH: I did though at first. I know I told him to move on but when I saw him and Vanessa and their son, it really hurt. And I tried to be okay with it but it was like Vanessa had my life, she just walked in and taken it. And I wanted him back so much, so I thought if I could spend time with him that he'd realise that I deserved him and she didn't.
KARL: He's a family now. You can't interfere with that.
STEPH: I know that now. I hate that I tried to manipulate him, that I did it, and then I stopped taking my meds... I can barely remember the rest. Do you think Lucas will ever forgive me?
KARL: Maybe in time.

She then asks Karl to relay what she's just said to Lucas and Vanessa to let them know how sorry she is, which he readily agrees to do. Steph then adds that there is something else they need to know but doesn't say what it is.

Lucas and Vanessa's flat
Karl is round to deliver what Steph said to him to them and the extra bit was that she was the one responsible for all the ex- husband stuff.

KARL: She is genuinely sorry.

Vanessa asks what will happen and Karl replies that there will be legal ramifications but isn't sure exactly what they are. Meanwhile, Lucas has headed into the bedroom to take a call and comes back to say it was from and old mate who wants to see him.

Charlie's
And that old mate is Brennan! Lucas is still in shock over the whole thing as Mark apologises for how things were and asks how Kate has been while he was gone. "She took it pretty hard," he explains then goes on to tell him about Mason when Mark asks about him. Lucas avoids replying when Mark asks what sort of a bloke Mason is; expect to tell him that he and Kate have a lot to catch up on. He then heads off (going for radiotherapy) and his place is taken up by Paul, who wastes no time at all in letting slip to Mark what kind of a character Mason is!

PAUL: Her new boyfriend is a convicted criminal.

Mark now decides to take up Paul's offer of a drink!

Lassiters Complex
Mark meets Kate outside Harold's and he doesn't waste any time in telling her about the conversation with Paul (about Mason). Kate is defending Mason when the man in question happens to appear and walk over to her table. Mason puts 2+2 together over who the guy she is with is and Kate is forced to do the formal intros. She then has to separate them when their egos get in the way (Mark wanted Mason to go/Mason wanted Kate to leave with him) and asks for Mark to leave so she can talk to Mason.

Charlie's
Mason is very peeved that Kate didn't contact him the moment Mark (formally) appeared. She tries to get through to him that it's all over with Mark but she needed answers/closure and thus will need to talk to him again.

KATE: I need you to understand that.
MASON: I guess so. I can't pretend I'm okay about it.

She then tells him basically to grow up and get over it, which causes him to throw preverbal rattle out of the pram, and storm out of the bar.

Ramsay Street
Karl asks Toadie if he will go to see Steph but their conversation is curtailed when Sheila comes over to chat about the Willises intro to the street. He suggests that to show the Willises that they are indeed "normal" in Ramsay Street that they host their own version of 'Come dine with me'. Sheila is very up for it and rushes home to write names out for the draw (Karl suggested pulling names out of the hat for the order of who will be the hosts).

Hospital
Steph is just finishing getting dressed when Toadie arrives. He begins by apologising for getting her into this mess (by his actions in her trial) but she dismisses that citing that she made it impossible for him.

STEPH: I killed someone. I killed Ringo and whether I'm to blame for that or not I deserve to go to jail.
TOADIE: I still feel like all this started that day.
STEPH: It all started the day I slept with Dan and got pregnant and dragged you into a lie that got bigger and bigger.
TOADIE: You didn't drag me Steph.
STEPH: But it was my fault. And when I gave Adam away, again it was my decision alone. It's my decisions that have led me to this position to losing Charlie, not you. You forgive me?
TOADIE: Yes of course I do!

The pair then hug and Toadie tells Steph that he will get her a lawyer, the best that he can find.

TOADIE: It's going to be a long road but you are going to get better and you should see Charlie again and maybe one day Adam too.
STEPH: I hope so.

She then tells him that they are going to take her down to the station and formally charge her and accepts his offer to accompany her.

STEPH: Do you think this is how everyone is going to remember me? Like some crazy woman?
TOADIE: Your friends know who you are Steph. You are a strong woman that can take on anything that is thrown at her and beat it.
STEPH: You're such a good friend.
TOADIE: I know right!
STEPH: I'm going to miss you.

Charlie's
Georgia wants an update from Kate on how things are going and is told that it's "a disaster!" and why. Kate is sure that there is still stuff Mark isn't telling her and how he reacted to Mason wasn't like him at all (or at least the Mark she knew).

GEORGIA: Well if you don't ask your questions you'll always be left wondering.

As they've been chatting, we've cut to seeing topless Mark out jogging and as he stops to do some stretching we see a sizeable scar just above his ribcage.

Police station
Vanessa is waiting for Steph when she comes out from being formally charged and asks the silent officer for a moment. He leads them over to a corner where they can chat and Steph immediately begins by sincerely apologising. That doesn't wash with Vanessa and tells Steph that as a mother, she should have some idea of what she was putting her through and asks Steph back how she is supposed to forgive her?

STEPH: I...
VANESSA: I know everyone told me you're sick and you had no control over your actions that night. From the day you arrived you schemed, you manipulated your way into our lives so that you would destroy our relationship. I'll never forget what you did. Lucas and I will get through this Steph, don't you worry about us, you just get better Steph. Don't do it in Erinsborough and don't you ever come near my family again.

Number 32
Sheila comes by with supper to Lou and to tell him all about Ramsay Street's version of 'Come dine with me' and that Terese is hosting first. She confesses she'd rather taste test her hubby than her food though!

Once she leaves, Mason winds his grandfather up that Sheila likes him! "Don't be ridiculous, we can't stand each other," Lou replies and then turns the tables round as to why Mason is at home and not our romancing Kate. "Kate's busy," he replies nonchalantly and refuses to say exactly what when Lou enquires.

Charlie's
Kate decides she's had enough pussyfooting around and wants to know what happened to Mark while he was away. His initial reply is that he's already told her but she wants the truth, all of it. He then tells her something new - that Wes Holland got to him at the Blue Mountains before the police and a fight happened where he (Wes) lost. "The police killed him?" she asks and Mark confirms it.

MARK: Otherwise he would have finished me off.

"It's over now," he ends with and Kate asks what he was called when he was there and eventually he replies with 'Matt Smith'... after the actor who plays Dr Who. It goes all quiet between them and Mark comments that how they are now, it's like he wasn't away.

KATE: But you have and things are really different now.
MARK: They don't have to be.

Kate doesn't respond to that but instead asks for Mark to get the bill as she wants to call it a night.

Number 26
Mark escorts Kate home and wants to stay for a coffee but she isn't comfortable about that happening as she thinks he means the overnight coffee!

KATE: I have a boyfriend.
MARK: He's a juvenile delinquent.
KATE: You don't know the situation.
MARK: And I don't care. You want the truth? Then here it is. I've missed you Kate. I thought about you ever single day. I didn't come back here just to check up on you, I needed to know if you still had feelings for me.
KATE: I told you, I'm with Mason now.
MARK: And what if I'd never left? Do you think you'd still be with him then?
KATE: This whole conversation is pointless.
MARK: No it isn't.

Mark then grabs her and begins kissing Kate and she isn't exactly pushing him away!

MARK: Tell me that didn't mean anything?
KATE: ...
MARK: I want you back Kate.

Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Mark promising that he'll never let Kate go again.
- Kate explaining her feelings (about Mark/Mason) to Georgia.
- Brad checking the Turners are still coming for dinner.
- Lauren wanting a reason from Matt for not going to the dinner.
- Fisticuffs between Mason/Mark.
