Karl has come in to collect his suit for Toadie's surprise ‘wedding day' for Sonya. He chats to Vanessa about the event; they hope it will trigger Sonya's memory. He also drops off Susan's spare key to Lucas and Vanessa's flat - which Vanessa puts in the till for safe- keeping, with Steph's agreement. As Karl leaves, Vanessa puts her foot in it by telling Karl she'll see him tomorrow – thus revealing to Steph that there's a big event going down.
Lucas and Vanessa's Flat
Vanessa comes in; Lucas is cooking. Vanessa runs off to the bedroom to see Patrick but Lucas explains he's only just got him to sleep. She asks if Lucas has thought about her request to stop riding his bike; he tries to convince her there's no need, but Vanessa insists. So Lucas grudgingly agrees, and goes to make a phone call to sell the bike. Vanessa reassures him he can buy it back when he's old and retired, but Lucas doesn't seem placated.
Chris comes round to drop off a DVD for Amber, but is disappointed to find Mason in the house alone. Awkwardly, Chris asks if he could pass the DVD to Amber.
MASON: Crazy Stupid Love? Actually I might watch this myself.
CHRIS: Yeah, I don't think that's really your thing.
MASON: What kind of ‘thing' do you think I'd be into, Chris?
CHRIS: Transformers VIII: Rise of the Lego?
MASON: Oh, you know me so well. It's like you can read my mind.
CHRIS: Yeah, well it's not hard to read a comic book.
Mason demands to know what's with Chris's attitude – he's tried to be mates with him, to no avail. Chris admits he doesn't trust Mason, what with his dodgy Mount Isa contacts and his dubious references. Chris demands to know what Mason has been doing for the last six months, while he hasn't been working. Mason claims he took time off to help his mum and dad. But Chris isn't persuaded, and leaves, telling Mason he still doesn't trust him.
With Chris gone, Mason takes a phone call from his superiors at Lassiter's, telling him he has to work at the Rebecchi ‘wedding'. He claims to have something else on, but is told to be there – or else he's fired. Mason says he'll be there, but looks worried.
Breakfast- time on wedding day take two, and Toadie tells Sonya he has a surprise for her – they're going to get a family portrait taken, he says. Georgia and Callum exchange knowing glances! Toadie presents Sonya with a dress he's bought for the occasion, which she quickly falls in love with – and agrees to go and get changed.
Steph arrives to cover for Lucas, who is all suited up. Steph asks whose wedding he's going to, but he explains he's been sworn to secrecy – she'll find out soon enough. He also tells her he's selling his bike, but she quickly clocks that Lucas isn't too happy about it. Lucas says Steph should buy it; she admits she's just got her licence back, and says she'll take it for a test drive later.
Toadie, Sonya, Cal and Georgia arrive at the lake, where Toadie's real surprise is quickly revealed – they are repeating their vows in a second wedding ceremony. Sonya is overcome with emotion and they cross the bridge to join Lucas, Vanessa, Kyle, Karl, Mason and the minister under the gazebo. As Toadie and Sonya repeat their vows, Kyle and Georgia look at one another wistfully. Sonya struggles to remember the exact phrasing of her vows, but Toadie encourages just to say what she feels.
Suddenly, her original vows flood back into her mind, and she begins to remember the wedding day. Mason looks worried as Sonya ecstatically hugs Toadie. The minister pronounces them husband and wife, and they kiss happily.
Later, Mason serves drinks to the guests, just like on the original wedding day. As Karl proposes a toast on behalf of himself and absent Susan, everyone raises their glasses. But Steph walks by and doesn't look too thrilled about what is going on. Toadie presents Sonya with another surprise – it's two tickets to Hamilton Island, for their honeymoon. They decide to go straight away, and Steph shakes her head in the shadows.
Kyle asks Georgia if there's been any news on her job.
GEORGIA: Oh, same, same; I'm still sacked.
Georgia gives Kyle the cold shoulder, telling him she has to go and look after Nell. Meanwhile, Karl talks to Sonya about getting her memory back, whilst Mason lingers worriedly in the background. Meanwhile, Lucas is still sulking, and Vanessa wants to know if he's still upset about the bike. He says it's fine, and that he might be selling it to Steph. Vanessa's a bit surprised that Steph is riding again, but says she's glad he has a buyer. Having observed the conversation from her hiding- place, Steph walks away.
Lucas and Vanessa's Flat
Steph lets herself in (presumably with the spare key Vanessa left in the till at Harold's), and wanders past Patrick's crib, to look at a photograph of Lucas and Vanessa on the mantelpiece. Finding another photo of Vanessa with Patrick and picking it up pensively, Steph then returns it to its place and leaves the flat.
A road somewhere
Steph has laid down the bike on the road and is making fake tyre- marks in the gravel with her foot in order to make it look as if she's come off the bike. She calls Lucas, telling him she hit a pothole and fell off the bike, adding that she's a bit shaken and has lost her nerve, so can't get back on. She asks if he can come and collect her.
Soon, Lucas shows up in his van and Steph thanks him for coming. She's sorry about the bike – she thought she was ready to ride again. Lucas tells her there's no real damage; just a few scratches. Lucas is in pain from his stitches following the operation, so can't get the bike into the van. He says he'll drive Steph back and then get Chris to come and help him with the bike, but Steph convinces him he should be back at the wedding party, letting on that she knows it was Toadie's.
Steph initially suggests she should ride the bike back after all, but Lucas thinks it's too dangerous.
STEPH: Maybe if I take the van and you ride it back, if you're feeling up to it. I don't want you to burst your stitches though.
LUCAS: I'm fine once I'm on the bike.
STEPH: Vanessa wouldn't like it though, right?
STEPH: Save you having to come back…?
Mason has brought Chris a peace offering in the form of wedding food leftovers.
CHRIS: You trying to use food to get on my good side?
MASON: I put a little arsenic in it, so let me know how it goes down.
Chris asks how the wedding went, and if Sonya remembered her vows. Mason says she did, but doesn't know whether she remembered anything else. He walks off, and Vanessa shows up with Patrick, asking Chris if Lucas is around. Suddenly Lucas pulls up on the bike. Vanessa looks horrified and begins laying into Lucas for breaking his promise not to ride; he tries to explain, but she's not having it. Steph, who has pulled up in the van, runs in to defend Lucas, saying it wasn't his fault.
VANESSA: Thanks Steph, but this is between me and Lucas.
LUCAS: Okay, don't get mad at Steph!
VANESSA: You left your mate's wedding. She looks fine to me – you could have asked Chris and Mason to get her. The wedding's over – everyone's gone home!
LUCAS: What did you want me to do, leave her there?
Vanessa marches off with Patrick, telling Lucas she doesn't want to be around him right now.
Steph is looking at a picture of Lucas on her phone, when Toadie comes in for some non- alcoholic champagne. With a slight hint of sarcasm, Steph congratulates Toadie on his second wedding ceremony, saying it looked really lovely.
TOADIE: Thank you. Yeah, it was just a small bunch of family, and close friends.
STEPH: And I'm neither.
TOADIE: I didn't mean that.
STEPH: I didn't expect an invitation. You didn't have to lie about it.
TOADIE: I couldn't say anything. It was a surprise for Sonya.
STEPH: I can keep a secret. Once upon a time you would have trusted me with something like that.
TOADIE: I really am sorry. I should have told you.
STEPH: Don't worry about it. You've actually helped me. You've made me see who I can really rely on.
Steph walks off calmly, leaving Toadie looking frustrated.
Georgia and Sonya are coming out of the hotel, when Sonya takes a call from Toadie. But he's breaking up, and Sonya goes around the back of the building to get a better signal. She arrives at the spot where she saw masked Mason and Robbo during the attempted robbery – and suddenly the rest of her memory comes back to her, including the belt- buckle. Remembering Mason was wearing the same buckle, she begins to realise the truth about the robbery...
