Charlie's
Paul returns from his call, and observes how well Mason and Kate are getting on with each other, to try and dig more dirt about him from Rhiannon. She refuses to say any more so he asks her out to lunch tomorrow... and asks that she keeps the whole afternoon free as it may be a long lunch!
Mason and Kate are just finishing up too (she's got a 1 drink limit on a school night) and Paul isn't taking no for an answer to him giving them a lift home!
Number 32
Amber is still getting hassle on Twitter and Lauren isn't amused to find out how bad things are when she takes a look at her phone. Matt isn't pleased either at what has been written about her and orders her to close her Twitter account and if she won't he will!
School playground (next day)
Cassie and her groupies hassle Amber when she arrives at school and Bailey tells her to ignore it. Amber wants to go back on Twitter to see what has obviously been written about her and Bailey warns her not too as it will just get to her and make her worse.
Ramsay Street
Paul has heard back from Tony about Mason just as the man in question is ready to leave #32 to go for a run. He decides to confront Mason about his past and gives him a proposition - stay away from Kate and his dirty little secret will remain secret.
School playground
Bailey, Cal and Rani are discussing school work when Bailey's phone goes off - he's seen what is being written about Amber and concludes she isn't going to like it! The whole thing has brought up memories of what happened with Rani and she stomps off. "I thought you were supposed to be the smart one," Cal comments when it eventually dawns on Bailey why she stomped off. He goes over to where she is now sitting to apologise and Kate ends up getting involved when she overhears their conversation in passing and asks to see what it was all about.
(Later)
Kate tries to sort out the stuff between Amber and Cassie. Cassie refuses to accept that she's been bullying Amber and Kate orders them both to do detention (yard duty) to try and sort it out but all it does is give Cassie and her groupies more ammunition because of the hat Amber is wearing (a blue sunhat compared to the red baseball hat Cassie has on).
Rani tries to give Amber some encouragement about what is happening to her but she takes it the wrong way and thinks Rani is having a go at her and retaliates by reminding her that she isn't a saint. She again stomps off and Cal has a go at Amber for what she said and reminds her what Rani went through herself recently on Facebook. Cal's words of wisdom, and the reassurance that they are still her friends, get through to Amber and she goes off to find Rani to apologise.
(Later)
Amber finds Rani and apologises to her for being insensitive. Cal swaps places with Amber and gets a peck on the cheek from Rani for whatever it was he said to Amber. He's shocked thrilled at the kiss.
Lassiters Complex
Kate tries to talk to Mason about Paul's bad timing last night as he's on his run. She suggests they have their belated goodnight kiss now but he's still fearful of Paul's words and puts the kiss off on the grounds that he stinks! Kate departs and Matt comes over for a chat and he subtly brings up what Kate will do when he finds out about him being in juvie. Matt reminds Mason that he's paid his debt and shouldn't let his past dictate his future but Mason isn't so sure.
Charlie's
Paul is back to his flirting best when he joins Rhiannon in the bar. He suggests room service instead of the reservation at Charlie's and agrees... on condition she gets lobster!
Lassiters Hotel room
As he pours the champers, Paul tells Rhiannon that the Lobster Thermidor will take about 30 minutes to arrive, so she suggests they play a game until it arrives. She gets out a pair of pink handcuffs and cuffs Paul to the bed... before telling Paul she's no scrubber! Rhiannon then disconnects the phone and throws the key onto the floor (out of his reach) before walking out of the room!
RHIANNON: Enjoy the lobster!
Harold's Store
When she comes over with his order, Lauren reminds Mason that he could have had his bacon sandwich at home instead of in the store and suggests if he has time to kill, he could get on Paul's good side by starting work early.
Mason then finds out about Amber being back on Twitter when he overhears Callum and Bailey chatting as they come into the store. Cal decides to get some tips from Mason about girls, well Rani, as he's not sure about how to get her from friend to girlfriend. His advice is to step up and trust, which Cal seems happy with.
School
Cassie and the groupies confront Amber. The latest thing is a "competition" to see whose side you are on - displaying a red means you are for Cassie, blue for Amber (which nobody is wearing).
Cal spots Rani and decides to strike while the iron is hot to invite her for a date to the movies with a burger after. However before she can give her answer, Bailey comes over to talk to them about their school project and its Cal's turn to stomp off in the huff! She tells Bailey about her date and seeks his advice and it is a begrudgingly "why not" just seconds before Cal comes back talk to talk about their project. He but doesn't seem amused that she's been talking to Bailey but Rani turns it around by saying that she was telling Bailey about them going on a date tomorrow night. Cal is chuffed while Bailey looks depressed!
Lassiters Hotel room
Mason arrives with the room service order and discovers Paul handcuffed to the bed! Taking a leaf from the Paul Robinson book of blackmail, Mason quickly snaps a pic of Paul... and promises to keep quiet if he will too.
MASON: Do we understand each other?
Realising he's over a barrel, Paul asks if Mason is going to keep lying to Kate and Mason replies that he won't do anything wrong by her but is told if he has any sort of conscience, he will tell Kate the truth.
Charlie's
Kate arrives to meet Mason, who is looking rather agitated, and tells her about the break in at Mount Isa and that he spent time in juvie.
MASON: I've got a criminal record Kate. You deserve to know that.
Kate seems rather gobsmacked as to what she's just heard and Mason further adds that what happens between them is up to her.
