Lassiters Complex
Ed and Tash are heading to the cinema for their date; Andrew watches them from a corner. Eventually he shows his face, and tells Ed he wants to make up for behaving badly towards him before. To make out he's genuine, he says he wants Ed to come back on board with the app, and come to the meeting with the health department tomorrow. Ed's not interested and darts off to buy snacks, so Andrew tries to convince Tash to talk him into it. Tash reluctantly agrees but tells Andrew not to hold his breath.
Harold's
Kate comes in and bumps into Ajay and Priya, on their way to pick up Sophie and Rani from shopping. They leave, and Kate orders some carrot cake from Vanessa. Kyle is in Harold's too, and asks Kate if she's spoken to Lou as he wants to send him the latest profits from the business. Kate hasn't spoken to him; Kyle thinks he's due home next week. Vanessa asks where Lou's going to live, and Kate admits she's been trying to call him to tell him the house has been sold. She's sure he'll call before he comes home though, as Lou's not one for surprises.
No 24
LOU: Surprise!
Lou enters the house to find the lights off and nobody home. He's speaking to his lady-friend Dawn on the phone. He thanks her for a perfect trip, and hangs up, before setting about making a cup of tea, impressed with the fancy new kettle. One cup of tea later, Lou's falling asleep at the kitchen work-surface, so heads into 'his' room to sleep off his jetlag.
Ajay, Priya and Rani walk in; Priya tells Rani to go to bed, despite her pleas to try on the clothes she's just bought. Ajay and Priya find the mug on the side, and assume it's Rani's. They all head to bed and Lou comes back into the kitchen to find the mug has moved. Thinking nothing of it, he exits again. Rani dashes out of her room and cuts the tags off the clothes she bought, before rushing back to her room again when she hears the toilet flush.
Lassiters Complex
After the movie, Ed offers to walk Tash home. They both admit they had fun. Tash apologises for Andrew pestering him earlier, but tries to convince Ed to come to the meeting. Ed says their relationship isn't about the business any more, and says he doesn't want it to come between them again. Tash asks Ed to come to the meeting for her, not Andrew, as she doesn't want to sell the app without him there. Ed finally agrees - but only on one condition.
Charlie's
Andrew and Chris are having a beer. Andrew tells Chris he's sure Tash will be able to get Ed to come to the meeting. He's pinning his hopes on Ed proving so socially backward that he'll ruin the meeting, but Chris says Ed's not so backward with the technical stuff that he knows about. Andrew is convinced his plan will succeed nonetheless.
(Next morning)
No 24
The Kapoors get ready for work/school - Priya is mildly annoyed to find the clothes tags on the side, but Ajay points out that at least Rani's washed the mug from last night. Suddenly the family hear whistling from the corridor, and prepare to call the police - but are shocked when Lou emerges in his dressing gown! Lou demands to know what they're doing in his house!
No 22
Tash comes round to see Andrew, who's thrilled to learn Ed is coming to the meeting. However, she soon reveals the condition Ed laid down - he won't attend if Andrew will be there. Andrew panics and insists he has to be to close the deal, but Tash tells him to relax - she and Ed can take care of it.
Lassiters Lake
Andrew desperately tells Chris he needs his help to fix the mess he's got himself into. Chris tells Andrew he can't go to the meeting as Tash is suspicious enough already. He suggests Andrew ought to tell Tash the truth, but he doesn't want to do that until he has the $25,000 cheque to present her with, hoping it will dampen her anger. Chris tells Andrew he's being dodgy, but Andrew says he has to make sure the meeting fails. Chris tells him he's on his own.
No 22
Lou and Kate have a cup of tea and a laugh about his run-in with the Kapoors. Lou asks if they have a spare room but Kate says it's Paul's house, so she can't invite him to move in. She suggests he use the money he made from his trip with Dawn to get a place, but Lou says he earned that to pay Kate back for bailing him out of the Dial-A-Kyle mess and that he has enough to get by. Kate lets slip that Lucas and Vanessa have moved over to No 32.
No 32
Lucas point-blank refuses to let Lou move in, despite Lou's reminders of the times he's helped Lucas in the past. Lucas says it's not personal, but that he's starting a family now with Vanessa and the baby. Lou concedes defeat and exits, leaving Lucas feeling guilty.
Charlie's
Ed is nervous before the meeting. Tash warns him to cut down on the technobabble, just as the health department marketing manager, Monica, arrives. They all sit down, and it's barely thirty seconds before Ed has insulted Monica by slagging off marketing people.
ED: I didn't mean to imply that marketing in general was a redundant occupation...
Tash suggests they concentrate on the app, and Monica agrees. She says she's really impressed with the app and thinks they could really use it to help gambling addicts. Andrew walks in and heads for the bar. Ed is not pleased, and asks Tash why Andrew's there. At which point Monica leaps up and introduces herself, asking him to join them. Andrew acts like he can't stay, but quickly gives in to her pleas, much to Ed's annoyance.
Later, the meeting seems to be going quite well - until Andrew encourages Ed to talk about the maths behind the app. When Monica admits maths isn't her strong suit, Ed launches into a tirade about how she ought to have a good grasp of it given that she's in charge of buying apps at the government. Tash pulls it back around by explaining how the app works to Monica in simple terms; and despite Andrew's best efforts, Monica says she'll be recommending that the government buy the rights to Odds On. Tash and Ed are thrilled, but Andrew's worried.
Later, Kyle comes in and finds Lou having a coffee. Kyle welcomes Lou back and hands him the profits from the last two months. Lou admits he needs it, as he's staying at Lassiters until he finds somewhere to live. Kyle isn't having any of it and invites Lou to come and stay at No 26. Lou's reluctant, but Kyle insists. He goes to tell Rhys and Jade, while Lou stares guiltily at his coffee. He explains to Kate that he doesn't want to take advantage of Kyle, because he stole from him. Kate tells Lou he should let it go - Kyle doesn't need to know.
No 26
Lou comes in. Kyle's been busy sorting out the spare room, but Lou insists he can't move in. Kyle tells Lou he's been like a grandfather to him and that he wouldn't have a business at all if it wasn't for him. Lou can't take it anymore, and admits he stole the $8,000 from the business. He says he always intended to pay him back, but Kyle is furious, realising that's why Lou took on the books in the first place. Kyle tells Lou he's right: he can't stay with him. He opens the door, and Lou leaves sadly.
