This week on Neighbours
- Susan's back and Paul is worried!
- Summer telling Susan what she knows.
- Andrew telling Chris about selling the app.
- Lou is back.
Previously on Neighbours
- Paul telling Zoe to butt out of his family matters.
- Jade not wanting to rush things.
- Kyle getting his hopes up.
Kyle arrives late for the party and congratulates Jade when he spots her. Things are still very awkward between them but he does admit that the party is down to him. He invites her to brekkie so they can talk about them and as he slowly starts to go towards Jade (as if to go kiss her) she quickly does a runner into the kitchen!
Paul is still chomping at the bit to get back to being editor before Susan arrives back and wants Zoe to organise one lunch meeting with all the top advertisers so that he can pitch it to them about his return as editor to the newspaper. She seems sceptical that it will work but he's adamant it will work and he'll regain his throne!
Jade shows some guests out as a way of avoiding Kyle. Eventually he forces the issue and shows her the text and she explains that it was meant for someone else. “I don't believe you,” he says but she is adamant and explains it was sent because she doesn't date clients and asks that he lets it go.
Number 22 (next day)
Paul is going over the paperwork for his meeting with the advertisers when Priya drops by to see Paul. She's round to discuss with him Sophie's falling marks and warns that unless they improve she's at risk of having to repeat the whole year. Paul isn't exactly welcoming her visit and literally sends her packing in his inevitable style.
Paul shows the test mark to Kate and wants her to talk to Sophie (after saying he tried and failed with his talk) to get her back studying.
Summer approaches Paul to talk to him about a work issue (an idea for a story) but he's more concerned about his lunch appointment than in talking to her. She asks if it can be brought up at their regular 1pm meeting and is told there is no meeting and brushes past her in his haste to exit the store.
Sum rants off at Karl when she joins him and he remarks that she's as stubborn as Susan and offers to shout her brekkie.
Lucas spots that Kyle is down in the dumps when he enters the bar. As they chat, Kyle shows Lucas the text message Jade accidentally sent him but Lucas' words of wisdom are that the words are true; if she wanted to fend off the guy she'd have said something differently. Kyle now totally cheers up (he's come onto the same wavelength as Lucas) and rushes out the bar to talk to Jade!
Kyle rushes home to confront Jade about the text. He pleads again that it was just one mistake but Jade replies that she needs time.
KYLE: I love you.
It's not Jade's turn to sit despondently at the bar! Heath arrives and she repeats to him what she said in the text – she's not over Kyle. He tries to twist it so that it makes Kyle out to be bad and pleads with her for a date! Eventually she gives in and agrees to have coffee with him.
Andrew does a runner to avoid him being the one to have “the chat” with Sophie. Eventually Kate plucks up the courage to chat to her sister. Sophie isn't taking the falling marks seriously and wants to deal with it herself.
Summer comes by to see Paul but the sisters tell her that Paul is at a meeting, so she departs as quickly as she arrived.
Jade looks absolutely bored in her “date” with Heath, so much so she imagines herself having a (fun) date with Kyle instead!
Summer is on the warpath because Paul fobbed her off when she runs into Karl. He jokes that even he's afraid when she's got that determined look on her!
Paul (and Zoe) are hosting the meeting for the advertisers. They want assurances that things won't be repeated, and Paul assures them that he is back.
Karl reassures Summer that she isn't being self- obsessed, she's just standing up for her professional rights. He then spots Paul over at Charlie's and tells Summer to head over.
Paul spots Summer heading over and asks Zoe to go over some info with the advertisers while he speaks to Summer. He isn't amused at her appearing and tries to send her packing but not before she overhears one of them mentioning something that's in the contact (specifying who the editor will be). “Is this about who's going to be editor?” she asks as we head into the next commercial break.
Break over and Paul decides to use Summer's arrival to his advantage and introduces her to the group before politely sending her packing! Paul wants the clients to sign up immediately (certainly within 24 hours) but they aren't so keen to sign up then and there according to Greg (the extra doing all the talking) and want the full 24 hours so their lawyers can look over it. “Of course,” he replies to them trying to keep a polite smile on his face!
Meanwhile, Summer didn't go back to the office but hid round the corner and overheard the tail end of the conversation and sends an immediate text to Susan informing her that Paul is up to something!
Paul tells Zoe that he plans on calling Greg later on that evening to get him on board but she thinks he shouldn't be contacting him.
The sisters then come downstairs and Sophie immediately starts playing on her guitar again. Paul asks if Kate will give Kyle the money for the fence (she's not exactly happy do that but is forced to take the money) before he asks if she spoke to Sophie.
KATE: I tried, I failed.
PAUL: Well try harder!
Kate reminds Paul again of the deal they made for her moving in and that lecturing to Sophie won't help their sisterly relationship. “So what will?” he asks back and Kate replies that she doesn't know but wishes she did!
Lucas heads over to chat to Jade when he finishes his conversation about moving dates with Priya and comments that she's the second person he's seen looking like that (miserable) today!
LUCAS: Guess who the first person was?!
Kate catches Kyle as he arrives at the yard to pay him the money from Paul. They make small talk about the party before Kate again apologises. Kyle is fully accepting his share of the blame too.
KATE: She will forgive you, you know eventually. She loves you.
KYLE: I'm not so sure of that anymore.
He then expands more – that he talked to Jade and explained that he wanted to try again but that Jade replied saying she needed more time. “That's good isn't it?! Kate thinks especially as it wasn't a flat out no. “I really don't know,” he replies back.
Lucas is now trying to work the same magic on Jade as he did with Lucas earlier. “You going to punish him for the rest of his life?” he asks but Jade denies she is doing that.
JADE: I just don't know if I can ever get past what happened.
LUCAS: Well if that's the case, then it's over… if that's your decision.
JADE: No. It's… I don't know.
LUCAS: Well you'll never know if you can get over this unless you give it a go.
LUCAS: What have you got to lose?
Lucas' words seem to be sinking in as we head for the final commercial break.
Jade is waiting for Kyle when he arrives home. He begins again by apologising for pushing her and will back off is she wants him to.
JADE: You want me to give us another chance and the only way to do that is for me to forget everything that happened and I don't know if I can do that. I honestly don't.
KYLE: Okay, I understand.
He then offers to move out but Jade doesn't want him to.
KYLE: What do you want?
JADE: I want to try again.
Kyle is totally stunned at what she's just said!
JADE: I love you too.
Cue happy face from Kyle and as they hug each other, you can see in Jade's eyes that she doesn't seem to be as happy as he is, almost as if she's pretending.
And as the credits begin, there are three new additions to them – Ajay Kapoor: Sachin Joab, Priya Kapoor: Menik Gooneratne and Rani Kapoor: Coco- Jacinta Cherian.
