Number 30
'Good Morning Erinsborough,' Toadie bellows. He's filming a video of his and Sonya's first ultrasound for the baby, which he plans to show on Jellyfish's 21st because it will be hilarious. Sonya asks him to turn it off. There's a phone call, it's Angie, confirming she's about an hour away and she'll meet them at the hospital. Sonya asks Toadie if he invited his mum to the ultrasound, but he says she kinda invited herself.

TOADIE: It's her first grandchild, you try telling her no, it's like stopping a freight train.

Sonya picks up the phone and tells Angie that she didn't realise she was coming and she's anxious about the whole thing. She'd rather it was just her and Toadie for the day, and she promises she'll call to tell her how it went. (And I sigh with extreme disappointment, desperately hoping Angie will show up anyway despite Sonya telling her not to come... but alas it won't happen.) Toadie didn't realise Sonya was so anxious about it, otherwise he'd never have let Angie come. She says she didn't tell him because of everything else that's been going on. They look forward to the ultrasound, with just the two of them.

Number 24
Vanessa's cooking breakfast when Lucas gets up. He's heading into work to get some stuff sorted on his day off. Vanessa encourages him to have breakfast, as they won't be together much longer. She asks if he's upset that she's not staying, she appreciates the offer but doesn't want to feel she owes him anything. She says it'll be best for everyone if she finds her own place, especially now she's seeing Rhys. She suggests he moves in with other people but Lucas says it wasn't for other people, it was for the baby. Vanessa says that they will still visit all the time.

Ramsay Street
Toadie and Sonya get into the car. Callum and Rani walk past, and they ask Toadie and Sonya where they're going. Sonya says they're off to the ultrasound, but Callum thought he'd be there too as it was meant to be a big family thing. He wants to see his little brother or sister. They see he's not needed at the ultrasound and tells him to look after the nursery with Rani. They promise he'll be the first one to see the DVD when they get back. They drive off, leaving Callum upset.

Charlie's
Zoe tells Paul that Sophie's really happy about Kate moving in again, he seems uncomfortable and rushes to his feet when he sees Summer arrive. He hobbles over to talk to her, passing her a list of Professional Development Courses for journalists, saying it's for Susan. He says he's obliged to offer them every year, but he doesn't see the point in them himself. Summer's fascinated by them, and asks if she can go to any of them. Paul says they're for the editor only, and Summer will benefit when Susan comes back and feeds back what she's learned.

PAUL: The Adelaide one looks good.
SUMMER: Why, what are they offering?
PAUL: I don't know. They're the closest and the cheapest. Tell Susan to keep that in mind when she chooses. Remember, I do still have to approve it.

Summer leaves to pass that information on. As Summer leaves, Zoe gives Paul two thumbs up.

Harold's
Summer drops the list of courses in front of Susan. Summer tells her that Paul has to offer these, and is concerned about the cost. Susan notes that the best courses will be the furthest away like in New York, Summer says that the Montreal course looks the best. Summer gets back to work.

Vanessa enters on the phone looking for a place to live. Susan listens in (unsurprisingly.) After Vanessa hangs up with little success, Susan tells Vanessa she went through the same thing when she had to find her flat, although she notes she had the luxury of time to find some place, whereas Vanessa doesn't. She suggests she shares with someone, Vanessa thinks Susan's offering, but Susan says she would if she had a spare bedroom. (Toadie must have been sleeping on the couch when he stayed with Susan, either that or Susan's lying because she doesn't want Vanessa to live with her!)

Vanessa doesn't want to move in with Rhys either, as moving in so soon would not be a good idea, Susan agrees that it would just kill the mystery. Vanessa says Lucas is bidding on the house, Susan thinks Lucas is getting attached and that he likes the idea of creating a family. Vanessa doesn't think Lucas wants to settle down, and it'll be the perfect solution for everybody including the baby.

VANESSA: You mean instead of being so pig headed about my independence I should just enjoy the fact that the father of my child wants to take care of us.
SUSAN: Your words, not mine.

Vanessa says she's still in doubt, so Susan suggests she make a list of pro's and con's, it's how she manages to make decisions.

Fitzgerald Motors
Lucas opens the garage. He looks at the loan application form, and then puts it down on the bench, walking over to the car cot he made, before leaving the garage and locking up.

Community Centre
Lucas is in his Gamblers Anonymous meeting. Lucas offers to stand up next to talk to the group. He says he's managed to keep things under control recently. His business is going well and he's thinking of buying a house. He's about to become a dad for the first time and it's changed the way he looks at things; he wants to be a better bloke. He's not together with the baby's mother, he says he's telling everyone else that he's buying the house for the baby, but he's not, he's buying it for Vanessa because he loves her, and he wants to be part of her life. He smiles while the chair of the meeting, Taylor, doesn't look too pleased.

(Later)
Taylor sits down for a coffee with Lucas. He thanks Lucas for being so honest, and says the meetings are also to give each other support. They both know what financial pressure does to them, they get in over their heads and they gamble their way out. He says buying a house is a slippery slope, speaking from experience. He got in over his head and when he couldn't make repayments he went back to gambling and lost everything. Lucas's financial advisor says it's doable, but Taylor says that it's also dangerous for guys like them, and he doesn't want him to undo all his good work. He says he needs to think about why he's buying the house, if it's for him and the baby that's fine, but not if it's for a fantasy relationship with someone who hasn't given him any indication that she wants to be with him. If she's the only reason he's buying the house, he's setting himself up for a fall.

Lassiters Complex
Rani and Callum leave Harold's with some milkshakes. Callum thinks Toadie and Sonya are shutting him out. Rani says that Sonya never said she didn't want him there, she just looked nervous. Rani tells him that the least he could do is sit in the waiting room, let Sonya know he's there. This is a happy time; it's his future brother or sister.

Erinsborough Hospital
Sonya is impatiently waiting for the obstetrician (franticly as usual - remember when Sonya wasn't frantically worrying about everything!) Sonya's worried that after all the stress they've been under that it might have done harm to the baby. That's why she didn't want anyone else here, because of the pressure. Toadie tells her to calm down, when Callum enters. He wanted to be with them, she shouldn't have told him not to come because she was nervous. He says he's a lucky mascot (as Rani won $10 in the raffle because he was there). Sonya starts laughing. Callum tells them that they're a family and they do stuff together.

Fitzgerald Motors
It's pouring with rain as Vanessa enters the garage. She sees the crib that Lucas 'pimped' into the style of a car. He says when she finds a place he'll move it in for her. Vanessa says she'd like to stay with him, but he wants to be a proper tenant and pay proper rent. She says finding another place was becoming a nightmare, and that they get along together, and they're good friends.

(Later)
Lucas has said no to them living together. He says he's confused by her changing her mind. If he's making a large financial commitment he needs to know her intentions, what if she wants to move out and live with Rhys? Vanessa promises she won't run away. Lucas says he does want her there, and they should stick together for the baby. Vanessa kisses him on the cheek, saying it'll be great. She leaves.

Charlie's
Susan interrupts Zoe and Paul, and says she wants to go to the course in Montreal. He'd asked Summer to tell her to buy something cheap, but Susan says this is the best course for their needs. It's for two weeks, and Susan can work remotely and check the paper online. She even offers to pay her own air fare. Paul agrees, as Susan walks off, Zoe and Paul share a delighted look to each other, then drop it when Susan comes back. She tells him that this doesn't change anything, she will be checking in regularly to make sure that the paper functions just as normal as when she's there. Susan leaves, and Zoe and Paul celebrate. Paul says Susan's even going to pay for her own air fare, what an idiot! Zoe wants to go out to celebrate, inviting Sophie and Kate, a family thing. Paul thinks they should be knuckling down and planning their attack. He says right now he needs her expertise and strategy, and once they deliver then they can celebrate. She agrees as long as he makes sure it's worth the wait.

Erinsborough Hospital
Sonya is getting her ultrasound while Callum and Toadie watch on. Toadie excitedly thinks he sees the head and legs and arms, but the obstetrician (who isn't Dr Olenski) points out he's wrong. She shows them the head and the rest of the body. Dr Hawkins says the baby is developing just as it should be. Callum wonders if it's a boy or girl, but it's too soon for that. Sonya is relieved, and Toadie's so pleased to see their baby.

(Later)
In the waiting room, Toadie's on the phone to Angie, saying all went well and they're waiting for the photo and DVD. Angie offers to come all the way from Colac to see it but Toadie says he'll email it and upload the video, though not onto youtube. Dr Hawkins hands Sonya the DVD and photo. They get up to go.

CALLUM: Baby Mitchell (reads off the label)
TOADIE: Mitchell?
SONYA: Yeah, that's my surname Jarrod. What's the hold up?
TOADIE: What about Rebecchi?
SONYA: What about it?
TOADIE: Well, I'm the dad.
SONYA: And I'm the mum. It's coming out of me Jarrod.
TOADIE: I put it in there (Callum looks so excruciatingly embarrassed!)
SONYA: I'm not having this discussion in public.
CALLUM: What about Jones?
SONYA: It's Mitchell!

They all walk off.

Number 30
They return home, still arguing about the name. Toadie suggests that when the baby comes along they all take the same name. It'd be easier than them all having different surnames, Callum agrees because it would make it easier than having to explain things all the time (the audience agrees because it's incredibly stupid that they all have different surnames anyway.) Callum says he'd be happy to change his name from Jones as it makes sense because they are his parents. Sonya wants them to keep the Mitchell name, but Toadie wants to keep Rebecchi. Toadie suggests they have a debate, each makes their case and Callum decides. Their surnames are both important to them, but if they don't decide this now, they never will.
