- Summer and Chris find inspiration in Lucas's disastrous love- life for the 'Dear Sally' column
- Chris ruins Lucas's latest fling by telling Sara that Vanessa is having Lucas's baby
- Summer humiliates herself by accusing Andrew of sending her flowers then flirting with Tash
No 28
Summer speaks to Lyn on the phone, thanking her for sending the flowers and asking her to give Charlie a kiss from her. When Tash comes in, Summer apologises for the mix-up at Charlie's, but Tash is unimpressed and goes to her room.
TASH: Didn't think you'd want to talk to a skank like me.
Charlie's
Andrew and Chris are playing pool, while barman Vaughan serves a female customer. Lucas, who is drinking at the bar, immediately starts chatting up the newcomer, and they swap names: hers is Hannah. Andrew looks on with a mixture of admiration and envy at Lucas's womanising skills, which evidently depress him so much that he quits the pool game and heads home. Vanessa and Rhys come in to have dinner; and despite Hannah giving Lucas her number, he's busy looking over her shoulder at the happy couple. He tells Hannah he isn't looking for anything serious, but she says the same and tells him not to let it stop him contacting her.
(Next day)
Fitzgerald Motors
Lucas rolls into work late and endures much teasing from Chris, who says he saw him in Charlie's with Hannah the night before. Chris mentions that he's seen Kyle in the yard and asks if he's sleeping there, but Lucas doesn't know or want to know. While Chris works, Lucas finds a copy of the Erinsborough News, open on 'Dear Sally', on his desk - and is soon reading about his very own disastrous date with Sara in print! It doesn't mention names, but the identities are clear enough, and Lucas storms off.
Harold's
Lucas confronts Susan about the column; she reads it and thinks it's hilarious. Vanessa is quite amused too, but Susan promises that it won't happen again, and that the person who wrote it will be dealt with - without telling him it was Summer. Vanessa and Susan start laughing, but Lucas isn't amused, and storms off again.
Charlie's
Susan gently chastises Summer for using Lucas's love-life as inspiration for the column. Summer apologises, explaining that the real letters weren't interesting enough. She promises to come clean to Lucas. Chris comes in, exchanging glances with Vaughan the barman, and asks if Summer's okay - only to be immediately treated to a diatribe about how difficult it is to be Summer right now, what with Lucas, and Tash, and Andrew, and the flowers, and all her work. To help free up Summer's considerable schedule of apology, Chris promises to talk to Lucas for her and explain the situation.
Fitzgerald Motors
Lucas is angrily tinkering under a car when Chris returns. He admits he told Summer about Lucas's date with Sara and that he helped her write the column. Lucas hits the roof.
LUCAS: You made me look like some sleazy loser who can't keep my pants up.
CHRIS: Well we didn't make anything up!
LUCAS: What did you say?
CHRIS: We didn't make anything up. I mean, we even left stuff out because we didn't think people would believe that it was actually true!
LUCAS: So my life's too stupid to be true?
Chris admits he shouldn't have told Summer, but hits Lucas with some uncomfortable home truths: namely, that he did get Vanessa pregnant, that he does sleep around and that his life is a mess! True to form, Chris then heads off for lunch, quipping that Lucas can fire him when he gets back.
Charlie's
Vaughan continues to make eyes at Chris, while he fills Summer in on his conversation with Lucas. Summer reveals her itinerary of apology is far from complete: Tash is still ignoring her, and Andrew hasn't texted her back either. Chris starts talking to her about Vaughan and how he went on a couple of dates with Aidan, but Summer isn't listening to him and continues to ramble on about Tash and Andrew, before rushing off to speak to them. She leaves an annoyed Chris with her laptop and some lunch money, and asks him to look over what she's written so far. Vaughan asks if he can get Chris anything, but he declines, and leaves with the laptop.
Harold's
Chris comes in and opens the laptop to look at Summer's column. Seeing him reading it forlornly, Vanessa guesses that Lucas has laid into him about the previous edition. She tells him he'll calm down, and promises him a milkshake and coconut slice to ease the pain. Rather than reading Summer's article, meanwhile, Chris begins typing out his own 'Dear Sally' letter: "I'm always listening to my friends complain. I help them whenever I can... when I need to talk they're nowhere to be found. I recently broke up with the first person I ever loved and no-one seems to care."
No 28
Summer attempts to apologise to Tash again, explaining about the flowers from Lyn and how she thought they were from Andrew. This time Tash is more understanding, and asks if Summer really wants to get back with Andrew. Summer says she thought it was what both of them wanted; but Tash, perhaps harbouring 'Dear Sally' ambitions of her own, says that the reason Summer gave in to 'ex-sex' was nostalgia, not love, and that what she had with Andrew has gone. Summer agrees, but doesn't look convinced.
No 24
Vanessa tells Lucas to be nicer to Chris, as she prepares for an evening at the cinema with Rhys. While Rhys goes to grab the tickets from next door, Vanessa says Lucas will have the house to himself if he wants to 'take advantage'. Lucas takes offence, assuming Vanessa is referring to him bringing a woman home. He asks her if she thinks he's pathetic and sleazy due to his partying and womanising ways, particularly given that the baby is on the way. Vanessa tells him that if the way he lives his life makes him happy, he should keep on doing it.
Ramsay Street
Summer profusely apologises to Andrew, explaining that she was confused by the 'ex-sex' last week and that she thought they might have been getting back together. Andrew asks if that's what she wants, and Summer says it isn't - but that she's only just realised that. The pair agree just to be friends, and share a hug.
No 28
Summer thanks Tash for her words of wisdom earlier, and says she's okay with her relationship with Andrew being over. But Tash has man-problems of her own: logging onto Facebook, she sees she's been invited by Ed to a comic swap event at the community centre. She hovers over the 'Reject' button, but eventually decides to bite the bullet and clicks 'Join' instead.
No 24
Lucas is pleased to receive a text from Hannah, asking if he's 'up for Round 2 tonight'; but his smile fades as he notices the picture of the ultrasound on the fridge.
Charlie's (outside)
Lucas meets with Hannah, but tells her some things have come up that he needs to take care of, and they agree to meet some other time.
Fitzgerald Motors
Lucas happily sands down planks of wood, while referring to diagrams of a baby's cot. We are left to assume that the two activities are related.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Lucas's crib is built, and Chris seems impressed - but is Vanessa?
- Karl and Ajay have a new song, and Susan tells Priya she's worried it's about Karl's feelings for her
- Rhys has the house to himself, and invites Vanessa around to 'take things further'
