Vanessa's made a batch of tasty looking cupcakes. Lucas asks if Vanessa is okay - she's no longer feeling sick, but is going into hospital for a routine checkup. He offers to clean up before she goes to work, which she finds unusual. Vanessa explains she's looking for a new place, which Lucas isn't too happy about but she silences him with a cupcake.
Summers working on an article about Corgis for the Jubilee. She notices a press release that says Red Cotton has taken a record deal, just days after getting a new manager - Susan is as surprised as Summer is.
SUMMER: This is so unfair, Andrew worked his guts out to get them where they are and this new manager just swans in and takes all the credit.
SUSAN: I thought you said it was Andrew's idea to drop them?
SUMMER: Well it was but... it's still got to hurt.
Susan suggests that Summer gives him a ring, and suggests its time the two start talking. She tells Summer to go on a chocolate run for the team.
Sophie insists to Andrew that she doesn't want to play bass for The Right Prescription. Andrew doesn't care what her 'little emo friends' think, and tries to persuade Sophie with the money that she'd receive from a regular gig. Tash overhears and labels joining Karl's band as 'musical suicide'. Summer bumps into Andrew as he leaves but neither says anything. Summer explains why Andrew has been hassling her, and tells Sophie about the new record deal. Sophie tells Summer it's not her problem.
Lucas is reading a pregnancy book left on the table and sees the first trimester scan. Rhys knocks and asks for Vanessa but she's at work. Lucas tells him to back off.
RHYS: She can tell me that herself, it's got nothing to do with you.
LUCAS: It's got everything to do with me.
RHYS: Why? Because you knocked her up and denied it ever happened?
Lucas explains that he's only concerned because he lives with her and doesn't want her stressed. Rhys tells Lucas he's left things too late and slams the door in his face.
Rhys has brought Vanessa a present - measuring cups! He explains that when she releases her first cookery book she'll need exact measurements. He reckons he's back in with a chance.
VANESSA: What do you want from me Rhys? No, I'm serious. In a couple of months I'm going to be out here. In a few more months after that I'm going to be a single mother with a screaming baby.
RHYS: I am aware of that.
VANESSA: And you still want to get involved?
RHYS: Would I buy you cheap measuring cups if I didn't?
Rhys explains he isn't scared by the baby, and Vanessa is left lost for words.
Chris tells Lucas off for being late and for being cranky. Lucas explains about Vanessa's ultrasound, and he's annoyed that he wasn't told about it. Chris reminds Lucas that he didn't want anything about it a month ago, and maybe Vanessa isn't aware that he's had a change of heart. Lucas is scared that it's too late, but Chris urges him to try anyway.
Lucas inquires about the cupcakes to Vanessa. He offers Vanessa a lift to the ultrasound but she declines - she's not too fat for the car yet! She insists she can take care of herself.
Lucas spills coffee all over his paper work. Chris asks if Lucas talked to Vanessa.
Susan tells Vanessa she wishes that she'd had an ultrasound with her children, and asks if Lucas is going along too. Vanessa explains that he doesn't want to get involved, although he did offer her a lift that morning.
SUSAN: Really? Oh that's nice! What did you say?
LUCAS: She said "Don't worry about me y'know, I can look after myself!"
Chris is surprised that Vanessa shut him down like that, and wants to make sure that Lucas made it clear with what he wanted.
Vanessa tells Susan that Lucas has been clear from the start that he doesn't want to be involved, and she completely understands.
Chris tells Lucas to try again but make his motives clear, but Lucas is having none of it - he says it's too late.
Summer's finished her article, and asks Susan if she can do an article on The Right Prescription. Susan isn't buying it, and can see that Summer wants to help Andrew. Susan gives it the green light, as long as Summer runs it past Andrew first - she agrees to send him an email.
Tash is chilling on the couch but Summer interrupts, and explains that she needs Tash's fashion skills for a promotional shoot with Karl. Summer explains that it's not just for Karl, but also for Andrew. Tash says if Summer can come up with a good enough reason, she'll help.
SUMMER: The only reason Andrew dumped Red Cotton was because he found out Griffin was seeing other girls behind my back.
SUMMER: Yes. And if I don't find a way to thank him, then I'll hate myself forever, are you satisfied?
Tash reluctantly agrees - she needs a minute to clear her schedule!
Karl's getting his makeup done by Tash , whilst Summer sets up the camera.
KARL: You're making it sound like she's raising me from the dead!
SUMMER: Come on then zombie, let's make this happen!
Summer starts taking photos. Andrew and Sophie appear from around the corner arguing and Sophie notices the photoshoot. Andrew approaches and is annoyed that Summer hadn't spoken to him directly about it first. Andrew agrees that it's a good idea; he just wishes that she'd phoned first. Tash urges Summer to go after him and tell him what she told Tash.
SUMMER: I heard about Red Cotton. I also know if it wasn't for me, you'd still be managing them. And celebrating a record deal. We both know that you earned them, and so does Griffin.
Summer explains that she just wanted to do the article as a way to say thank you, and that Andrew deserves something after all the work he's put into Robinson Entertainment. Summer tells Andrew that she felt weird phoning him, and actions speak louder than words.
SUMMER: So are you okay for me to finish the shoot?
ANDREW: Yes. I'm coming with you though. Because that location you've got is shocking!
Karl, Summer, Andrew and Tash are on the forecourt, and Chris rolls up in his vintage car - Andrew wants Karl to pose with it for the 'classic' look! The gang spends several minutes posing with Karl in a red cowboy shirt and a guitar in and around the car taking lots of pictures.
The gang crowd around a laptop admiring their handiwork with Susan, who is very pleased with the results. Karl thanks them all but has to go.
TASH: It's nice isn't it, Karl and Susan. How they're not together but they're still good friends. It's quite inspiring.
Tash proposes the three of them grab a drink, but both Summer needs to finish her article so leaves the two of them to it - but promises she'll be there next time.
Susan bumps into Lucas and explains that she'd spoken to Vanessa. Susan suggests that it would be a shame to miss the ultrasound for no good reason, and she guessed that Lucas wants to be there.
SUSAN: Lucas I understand that things are complicated between you two, but you're the father of this baby. You don't want a misunderstanding to get in your way. If there's any part of you, any part at all, that wants to be there, then you should tell Vanessa.
Lucas runs up and scares Vanessa who's in the waiting room. Lucas says he wants to be there for the ultrasound - Vanessa says that's fine, he just scared her.
LUCAS: I've been thinking, and I want to be involved, if it's not too late.
VANESSA: It's never too late Lucas, you're the baby's father.
Lucas looks pleased, but then Rhys turns up. He's covering for Dr Olenski. Rhys offers to rearrange the appointment if it's going to upset Vanessa.
LUCAS: Well... I'd prefer you to see your own doctor, but it's your call.
Vanessa says she just wants it done and over with, but Lucas doesn't look pleased at all.
