Rhys finds Erin crying outside. Kate had told Erin that he wasn't interested in her, and he only wanted her surgical place. Rhys denies this, saying Kate is his ex, and she wanted to split them up.
Rhys lies through his teeth to Erin, telling her that he dumped Kate because she became obsessively jealous of any woman he worked with, so they broke up. He assures Erin he doesn't want her surgical place as there will be a place for him next year. He asks Erin if he can make it up to her, Erin smiles.
Sophie is using Paul's computer at home, she tells Andrew she's bought tickets ‘Big Day Out,' pointing out that Paul trusts her since she ‘behaved so responsibly' at the last gig. Corey comes to the door, Sophie is surprised to see him at the house, apparently he and Sophie were meant to meeting down the street. Paul arrives so Sophie tells him that Corey is here to see Andrew about the gig, and Andrew reluctantly confirms this, but takes Corey outside to talk to him.
Corey talks to Andrew outside by his car. He finds out Corey is the younger brother of Griffin, the lead singer of Red Cotton. Andrew questions if the band have management, and asks to be told when the band are playing next. Andrew tells Sophie off for making him lie to Paul.
Corey and Sophie talk about bands they've seen live, she tells him about performing at the pirate net benefit at Charlies.
Kyle listens to music on his ipod while he's doing the books for his business. He realises he's hardly made any profit for this month. Jade tells him he should do some marketing to get some new clients. Kyle wants to watch the cricket, but Jade insists they sort it out now.
Callum meets Corey and Sophie, Callum tells them about doing the paper round to pay for dragon prophecies, Corey suggests Callum should get more money.
Rhys helps Erin study, giving her a book she could use. He tells Erin that he's doing this to help him prepare for next year. Jade arrives but makes herself scarce. Erin has to go off to work, but Rhys tells her they can continue to study after her shift, Erin agrees.
Kate tells Jade about Erin slapping Rhys. Kate sees Sophie with Corey and wonders who he is. Jade suggests they go over to talk to her, but Kate wants to give Sophie space, she decides to call her plans with Jade off and goes home.
Callum tells Paul that he is the face of Erinsborough News and that should be worth some money. Paul reads Callum all the complaints he got from customers for undelivered and poor condition papers. Paul gives Callum a dollar for his effort. Kyle enters asking for some advertising, but only in the sense of putting leftover flyers in his paper as he can't afford an ad. Paul refuses and sends both of them off. Callum tells Kyle they should talk.
Kate returns home, looking through the mail. She finds a letter addressed to her from Erinsborough High. It's a list of stationary that Sophie will need for the new session. Kate writes a text to Sophie saying ‘they need to talk' but she deletes the text without sending it.
Kate brings the list around to Pauls, and asks him how Sophie is doing. She asks Paul who the boy she's been spending time with was, Paul didn't know she was dating a boy, but he knows who to ask.
Paul asks Andrew about Corey, if he goes to school, and where Sophie met him. Andrew's evasive.
PAUL: Sophie is fourteen years old and as long as she is living in this house she is my responsibility, which means she is your responsibility as well.
ANDREW: Dad can you please just not freak her out?
PAUL: Oh you're just full of good advice, aren't you?
Kyle and Callum take a stack of papers onto the dining room table, Callum's worried that Jade will tell his mum what they're doing. Kyle pays Callum 40 cents a flyer. They hear Jade talking to Rhys in the hall and quickly hide the papers and flyers. Jade asks what Rhys said to Erin to get her to change her mind, Rhys doesn't answer and leaves. Jade sees Kyle and Callum sitting together, they cover by saying Kyle is giving Callum advice about chicks. Jade laughs away about this.
Sophie and Corey talk about the instruments they play. Corey's about to kiss Sophie when Paul interrupts them, and Corey leaves. Paul tells Sophie off for lying to him. He tells her that Kate was the one who told him about Corey. Paul tells Sophie she is grounded and sends her home.
Rhys suggests he and Erin go home and do more studying. Kate enters, and Erin pconfronts Kate, telling her to leave Rhys alone. Rhys asks Erin to speak to Kate privately. He informs Kate of the lie he told Erin.
Kate tells Jade what Rhys is doing to Erin, astonished by how manipulative he is. Sophie storms in and tells her off for interfering in her life.
SOPHIE: I moved out to get away from you. Just stay out of my life Kate, I don't want to have anything to do with you, ever again.
Sophie mouths off about Kate to Andrew and Summer. Andrew tells Sophie he'll help her get around Paul to see Corey. He understands what its like at that age and he wants to help her out, though Sophie says Corey won't want anything to do with her after Paul made her look like a loser. Summer has a quiet word with Andrew.
SUMMER: Since when do you care about Sophie's love life?
ANDREW: I just want my little cousin to be happy, that's all.
