This week on Neighbours
- Lucas wondering where Chris is… he's lying on the floor of the garage unconscious.
- Jade taking off.
- Paul trying to get Sophie and Kate to reconcile.
- Emilia blaming herself and Michael for Helena's death.
Previously on Neighbours
- Andrew showing Summer his ‘Pickles' tattoo.
- Chris taking offence at Warren Burrell's gay jokes.
- Kyle finding out about Mal/Jade.
Kyle has a right go at Jade for having an affair with Mal and he's also hurt that she turned him down.
JADE: I don't love him, I love…
But Kyle cuts her off before she can say his name, telling her he doesn't want to hear it.
Kyle takes off and Jade heads to her room as we get a music montage of her lying on her bed unable to sleep.
Number 26 (next day)
Kyle is taking is frustration out on the kitchen appliances as Jade wakes up looking at the picture frame he made with their photo in it. In her frustration, she closes the doors and puts it face down but after taking a call from a client (she's late for their session) she returns it to its original position.
Jade eventually comes through to the kitchen, surprised to see Kyle still there. She volunteers to make an omelette for him but he's giving her the cold shoulder and tells Dane to move when he appears.
Tash winds Andrew up by telling him to get another tattoo – this one saying cheese, so he can have cheese and pickles! He tells her to shush when he hears Paul coming downstairs and she tells him he should tell. Summer backs her up but Andrew is adamant Paul isn't going to know because he will freak!
Andrew tries to bribe Chris into doing up another car (he wants the money to remove the tattoo) by bringing him a coffee but he puts a spanner in the work by saying that to do that they will need to register as traders first costing $2500. Andrew walks off grumbling away as the mystery stalker continues to stalk out the garage.
Dial a Kyle
Sonya is round delivering a Christmas party invite (she's giving them to her suppliers) but Kyle is still anti her and turns down the invite down flat. She tries to plead with him to put what happened past and he turns and accuses her of being just like her sister and rants off. Sonya wonders what it's got to do with Jade and is told to ask Mal Kennedy!
“What's going on Jade?” Sonya asks as soon as she enters the house. She isn't amused to find out about the affair despite Jade's protestation. Jade explains that she isn't in love with him and only did it to get Kyle out of her head. She pleads with Sonya not to talk about it as she's had a rough couple of days.
SONYA: It's one thing to mess up your life but to ruin someone else's marriage, somebody else's life… NO!
Jade asks her sister to leave if that is her opinion and as she heads to the door, Sonya gives her a final message – she thought Jade was better than this.
Commercial break later and Jade begins to packs up some stuff into a bag.
Mal runs into Jade when she puts a black bag into their wheelie bin and he teases her about doing housework. She tells him that Sonya and Kyle know about them and that she plans to take off. Mal's stance is that it is none of their business and tells her that she can't take off, her whole life is here. He pleads with her not to do anything she'll regret but it looks like her mind is made up as she returns into the house.
Andrew gets a lucky break when Danni comes into the bar to look for him – she is interested in buying his car!
Mal tracks Sonya down to the store to beg her to talk to Jade. She ignores that to give him a rant and doesn't take serious Jade's plan to take off. “If you don't do something she is going to leave,” he pleads and points out that what happened is just between them. “I don't hate her, I hate what she did, what you both did,” she replies to Mal telling her that Jade thinks she hates her.
MAL: Fine, but if you don't get off your high horse right now you might not get another chance.
Chris tells Andrew to go for selling the car as the price is fair and he heads off to discuss it with Danni.
Burrell arrives and asks for Lucas but is told he's out – the suspension needs repairing (again) and wants a fully qualified mechanic to do the work. Chris pleads there was nothing wrong with the work he did but Burrell refuses to listen to him and to let him work on the car.
CHRIS: You don't even have the guts to say it to my face, do you?
Chris walks away from him, which infuriates Burrell further. “We don't want your business Mr Burrell,” Chris informs him and this is like a red rag to a bull. Burrell charges towards the garage, telling Chris he can't speak to him like that but just as he reaches the garage, Chris pulls the shutters down, preventing him from going inside. Burrell is not a happy chappy as we head into the next commercial break.
Danni catches up on the news with Kyle and gets an intro to Dane. Paul overhears Danni telling the boys that she is planning on buying Andrew's car and he isn't amused to hear that!
Paul leaves a voicemail message with Andrew asking him to call back. He spots Chris standing at the counter and quizzes him on where Andrew is (he doesn't know) and if he's involved in selling the car (he isn't) but Paul interrogates him further because he can sense there is more.
PAUL: Freckles, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry, so why don't you tell me what's going on mmm?
Andrew stares at a cheque for $2500 from his dad and asks if it's an early Christmas pressie! Turns out it's the money for the 10 sessions that will be required to get rid of the tattoo and Paul further informs him that he begins paying it back tomorrow by doing extra shifts at Lassiters! Andrew is not amused at having to give up his time but Paul isn't backing down, he's ordering Andrew to do the extra shifts!
“Tell me you weren't going to leave without saying anything?” Sonya asks when Jade spots her on threshold of the door. “Would it matter?” Jade asks back, reminder her sister of their conversation they had earlier on. Sonya explains that she was angry and disappointed that she could do something so thoughtless. “There wasn't a lot of thinking going on,” Jade mutters. Sonya pleads for her sister to stay but Jade is intent on going – she doesn't want to stay where people will hate her, “life's too short,” she adds. Sonya has picked up that its Kyle her sister is referring to and asks if she's talked to him yet? “It's kinda difficult when he's busy ignoring me,” she replies back and Sonya's advice is to try again once he's calmed down. Jade explains she's tried that already and it didn't work, adding in that its obvious Kyle doesn't care.
SONYA: Maybe he cares too much, have you ever thought about that? Why else would he be so upset?
JADE: Because what I did was so wrong. I knew it and I did it anyway.
SONYA: (begging) Please stay.
JADE: (shaking her head) I can't.
Sonya pleads that she at least tries to talk to Kyle before leaving. “What have you got to lose eh?” she asks.
Commercial break later and Kyle hobbles into the house and doesn't immediately notice Jade. She asks to talk to him and at the second attempt he agrees to. However just as she is about to talk to him, he gets a call from Kate asking him to go an cinema date, which he agrees to go on, and suggests they do dinner also.
JADE: You're such a hypocrite. You won't even look me in the eye because of what happened with Mal and yet with Kate she messes around with some student and you're all over her like she's some sort of victim.
KYLE: It's different.
JADE: Why is it different?
KYLE: She had a reason for what she did.
JADE: Oh you just don't get it do you Kyle? Do you honestly think I was with Mal for kicks?
KYLE: I don't care what…
JADE: (interrupting) You should. It's because of you.
JADE: That's why it happened Kyle, because I've been trying to get over you for months and nothing was working and I thought that maybe… huh, maybe if I was with someone else it might make it go away but it didn't, it just made everything worse.
KYLE: I don't…
JADE: (interrupting) I love you. I love you. That's what I've been trying to say. I've been in love with you for months.
While Jade has been spilling her guts, Kyle has been standing there listening like a stunned mullet but after that last bit, he shakes his head and hobbles though into the kitchen while Jade does her best not to cry before getting out her mobile and calling for a taxi.
Chris is working away when someone enters the garage, pulling down the shutters behind them. Just at that moment, Chris knocks his head off the bonnet of the car he is working on. He also thinks its Lucas who has entered the garage/pulled the shutter down, and jokes with “him” that he can't see what he is doing. Chris calls out again (thinking its Lucas) for him to open the door so he can some light but instead the mystery figure grabs a wrench from the table and then hits Chris with it causing him to crash immediately to the ground.
