- Kate warning Noah off because she could get in trouble for breaking rules of student/teacher conduct
- Summer organising a Pirate Net protest
- Michael telling Lucas to do himself a favour and stay away from Emilia
Emilia returns to the table after ordering at the bar and Lucas looks a little withdrawn after the warning from Michael. Lucas starts putting in some subtle questions about Emilia visiting the family that she talked of, and she answers them smoothly enough but goes to make an escape anyway.
Some random students have turned up to the protest and Summer is thrilled at the turn out. Tash and Chris arrive for the excitement too.
NATASHA: If there was a Uni course in crusading, Summer would be the first to sign up.
CHRIS: Yeah well, that's what she does.
NATASHA: So why are we here then?
CHRIS: To support her, because that's what we do. Plus, it's a good distraction.
Summer sees them and hopes that they brought all forms of communication like phones and laptops or cameras, and Chris jokes that he was going to go Morse Code. Tash flashes her brand new phone which was a gift for her 18th. Summer goes to “ramp it up”.
NATASHA: Is she going to rally?
SUMMER: OK guys, I just want to thank you all so much for coming down.
NATASHA: Yep, it's a rally.
Summer tells everyone that they just need to get the word out there until they get the radio station back. Noah, who has just arrived, sensibly asks what would happen if they don't get it back. Summer is convinced that they'll cave though even though one girl expresses her concern that they'll actually miss the exam.
Everyone is tweeting and doing their thing when Susan, “the press”, arrives. Summer has prepared a statement and everything but Susan quickly tells her that she needs to shut it down. Summer refuses to budge and Susan refuses to do a story. Susan tells the other students that there will be no local coverage but Summer still tries to convince everyone that the council will cave.
SUMMER: See, Susan, it just takes a little faith!
SUSAN: Yeah, and they're putting it all in you. What if you're wrong? What if they all do miss the exam? Are you ready for that? You'll be responsible for every kid here failing Year 12.
Lassiter's Complex/Number 26
Emilia stares at Lucas' business card in her car and Lucas stares at Emilia's name on her invoice. Emilia looks at the card again and then looks at a photo of her sister and Tash.
Chris is still filming as everyone is sitting around waiting for something to happen. Toadie arrives with bad news: the council are not budging. He tells everyone to go back to school and some of the students start leaving, Chris and Tash included. Andrew and a few other students stick around.
Walking past the wall, Kate has kissing- Noah flashbacks again. Paul tells Kate about the protest and he wants her to talk to the kids in the hope of convincing them to go back to school. She's too distracted and selfish to help though because she teachers history and not English so therefore it's not her business, apparently. Paul calls and leaves Michael, who is not answering his phone, a message.
Even some of the more faithful start to leave and Noah goes with them. Paul is unimpressed with the turnout and wants Andrew to go back to school.
PAUL: This is a time that you should be focusing on yourselves, not some cause that you've got no hope of changing.
The last of the students leave and Summer looks disappointed.
Emilia knocks on the door to drop by a body lotion. She apologises for walking out on him earlier and then advises him to use the lotion after a shower and quickly leaves again. Lucas looks confused.
He chases after her and questions why she came to see him.
LUCAS: I like you and I'm pretty sure you like me. But we can forget about it right now and you can go…or you can talk to me.
She explains her relation to Michael and their falling out and tells Lucas that it's best that she stay away from him because she needs to sort out her issues with Michael. She apologises for not letting him know earlier and Lucas pulls her in for a pash.
Summer is still sticking around like an idiot thinking her protest will work. She guilts Andrew into doing the same.
ANDREW: You are asking me to fail Year 12 over a radio station.
Sounds stupid when you say it like that. Oh wait, it is stupid. Andrew leaves and Summer is left alone.
Pirate Net/Erinsborough High
Summer sends an email off to the council: “I'm still here and I'm not going until you reinstate PirateNet.” She sends an SMS: “I will fail this exam if you don't change your mind.” Meanwhile at school, Andrew arrives and shakes his head to let Tash and Chris know that Summer is still stubbornly standing her ground. Everyone starts to head in for the exam. Andrew waits outside until the last minute hoping to see Summer – which he eventually does. She wordlessly heads in for the exam.
Lou is watching TV when Kate brings out a basket of laundry.
KATE: Look how much washing there is to do, there's a whole other basket out there.
LOU: Lucas cleaned out his undies drawer. Decided they all needed a going- over.
Kate spots Lucas' body lotion on the table and upon knowing it doesn't belong to Lou, she gets suspicious of its origins.
Exam over, the students start heading out. Susan comes to pick Summer up but she chooses to walk. She can't get over the fact that the council didn't listen to them and Andrew tries to cheer her up, unsuccessfully.
Kate comes around looking for Noah but Andrew hasn't seen him around. She spots a guitar case and puts the lotion in it, “returning” it to Noah - which Noah witnesses.
After the ad break, Noah opens his case and sees the lotion – thinking it's a gift from Kate. He tries it and Tash laughs at him for being vain. He says it's a present, happily proclaiming it to be from his “girlfriend”. In the background you can hear Tash complaining that someone like Noah has scored himself a girlfriend while she and Chris are still single!
