Previously on Neighbours
- Kate kissing Noah and then telling him that it can't happen again.
- Tash trying to get info on her mum via her death certificate.
- Emilia turning up at the house.
Michael does his damndest to get Tash away from Emilia but she bluntly spells it out to him – she's the one who made contact with her and that they've been meeting up with each other too before adding she knew he'd go ape therefore kept it quiet. Michael is still fuming and orders Tash to wait in her room so he can have a word with Emilia, but she refuses to budge until Emilia signals for her to do so. After sarcastically thanking him for her best birthday ever, she stomps off.
Chris catches up with Tash to find out how it's going (he conveniently decided to leave and go see Summer). Tash admits that her dad isn't handling it well and begins to wonder since he's seeing a counsellor already, if this might push him over the edge. “I'm pretty sure you've done worse!” he replies, trying to cheer her up!
Emilia quizzes Michael on why he didn't say anything to Tash about her visit last week before adding on if he's said anything to her about her mum. He replies that he doesn't want her telling Tash or getting caught in the cross fire should Emilia tell.
Andrew arrives back in Mr Pickles and wishes Tash a happy birthday although he wonders why she seems down in the dumps considering it's her 18th.
Emilia explains that she didn't make it easy for Tash to find her but adds that Tash was determined.
MICHAEL: She's stubborn.
EMILIA: Like her mother.
That remark is met by a look that could kill from Michael but Emilia is quick to tell him that she won't say anything.
MICHAEL: The fact that you are here is enough.
EMILIA: For what? For her to keep asking questions?
“Yes,” Michael replies and Emilia informs him that she is going to do that whether she is here or not! She explains to him that she simply wants to get to know her niece.
Cal is back from a sleepover and Toadie seems concerned that he isn't behaving like normal but Cal puts it down to simply being tired before heading off to his room. Toad calls out for him but put his stuff in the laundry but Cal has ignored him, so given the overpowering smell, Toadie empties his bag instead and is concerned when he spots his school jacket covered in egg stains.
Sitting at a table reading the paper, Lou remarks on Toadie's choice of shopping (lots of sweeties) and Toad explains that they are for Callum because he thinks he is being bullied over this online game he is playing. Lou asks if he is certain that is the reason and suggests that it could be because Toadie got PirateNet closed down. Toad hadn't thought of that one and Lou dishes out some advice – if he is going to splash out money on Callum then make sure it's something they can do together.
Toad returns from the store and decides it's time for a chat with Callum over him being bullied because of his actions. Callum is totally bemused by this and tries to tell him he isn't being bullied but Toadie isn't listening and instead hands Cal an envelope with a games voucher so he can buy something they can do together. Cal thanks him for the voucher but the two seem to be at opposite ends of the spectrum!
Tash enters the house refusing to spend any longer outside on her birthday. Michael makes her day but saying that Emilia is staying, he isn't kicking her out like Tash thought, and the two of them hug each other happily… unlike Michael who is glowering away in his seat.
Commercial break later and the trio are tentatively bonding with each other although it gets very awkward when Helena's name/death is brought up.
The trio now decamp to Charlie's for a birthday lunch for Tash. The atmosphere is very much lighter now although Michael glares at Emilia when she hands Tash her birthday pressie.
Kate calls Lucas into her bedroom to see if he's been in it because her apron is missing. He replies no he hasn't and jokes whether he should call the police, to which she is quick to say no to, and moments later follows him out of the house.
Lou pays his bill and begrudgingly agrees to pay for Lucas' coffee too. He notices Kate seems away with the fairies and he tells her “guitar man” aka Noah dropped around earlier when she was out. She isn't amused at him for not telling her that especially when Lou then adds that he didn't think she'd mind him letting him into the house. “Unbelievable,” she mutters before heading through to the kitchen area and getting her mobile out.
Noah makes a dash for the rotunda because it's peeing it down with rain but he might well regret meeting Kate when she lays into him for going into her room when he was in the house. Noah immediately denies that accusation and that he took her work apron too. “What else did you take?” she asks accusingly and he is quick to reply “nothing,” and swears to her that he didn't go into her room.
Andrew is cleaning up his car (it got trashed during muck up day) with Chris keeping him company (and providing the jokes) when they spot Callum throwing eggs around #30. Rightly they are puzzled and call Callum over for an explanation – turns out the egg stains on his jacket is from where he too got caught up in muck up day shenanigans except Toadie thinks he is being bullied and Cal wants their help to hit him with eggs so he can get more vouchers from Toadie!
CALLUM: Imagine how much that is going to get me.
CHRIS: That's pretty dodgy.
ANDREW: I think it's pretty good.
He tempts them with half the profits but although Andrew is keen to help, he follows Chris' lead in not helping, thus Callum smashes the eggs over himself.
Callum enters the house covered in egg and tells Toadie that he was ambushed! Toadie is immediately concerned especially when he sees the mess on the driveway too. Cal is sent off to get himself clean and Toadie leaves a voicemail message for Michael asking for a call back.
Sonya appears with Cal's egg stained jacket and puts a different light on Toadie thinking that Cal is being bullied. The penny finally drops that Toadie has been conned and Sonya remarks that he'd have done the same thing too at his age!
TOADIE: How did I not know it was muck up day yesterday?
SONYA: You're not a kid any more and that's a good thing… but you've been wronged!
Toadie and Callum come out of the house to try and see if they can spot who it was that egged Callum when they spot someone wearing a hoodie (Cal said that he couldn't ID them because they had hoodies on). Toadie heads to confront them, much to Callum's horror, and when he does confront the person – its Sonya armed with two BIG water pistols! Cal realises the game is up so taunts Toadie that he fell easily for his plan, “like taking candy from a baby,” he gloats before getting a soaking from Toadie who then loses possession of his water pistol so that he ends up getting soaked too!
Lou enters Kate's room moments after she arrives home to apologise for moving a folder – Noah was round again for some stencil and this time he didn't let Noah enter her room. “Thanks Lou,” she says and then goes to look through the basket of freshly laundered clothes Lou has just taken through when she spots her work apron!
Tash eventually gets her pressie from Andrew (and Summer) after he was holding it too high for her to reach but she gets her own back by kissing him on the cheek! She is overjoyed at the pressie though and at how lunch went with her dad and Emilia. She shows Andrew and Chris the pressie Emilia gave her (her mum's stuff) and that the pair of them decided to let her have some friend bonding time. Tash then gets an email on her new iPhone and her bubbly happiness has changed into tears and she quickly gathers her belongings and rushes out of the bar.
Michael and Emilia chat cordially about Tash not having a party when the birthday girl barges into the house demanding that they “look at this.” Tash hands her phone to her dad so he can see the email and accuses him of never planning to tell her. “What is it?” Emilia asks.
TASH: She's your sister and I'm her daughter. I have every right to know.
Tash explains what has made her so upset – the email was a copy of her mum's death certificate.
TASH: You told me she was sick.
TASH: She drowned dad. Mum drowned. You have lied to me for sixteen years and I've had enough. I want the truth.
Michael looks between Tash and Emilia wondering what to say as we head into the promo.
