Previously on Neighbours
Toadie warning Sonya that there is likely to be troubled times ahead.
Toadie getting a hard time at the public meeting.
Kyle hassling Sonya.
Sonya reaffirming Toadie that they are in this together.
Number 30
Sonya is looking at the basket of goodies Peter has sent when Toadie arrives home from work. He tells her about the run- in with Paul and she firmly replies back that Paul doesn't scare her! Sonya departs on to a business meeting (a landscaper wanting to use her business) and Toadie get on the phone to call in some help...
Harold's Store
... And that would be Mal to help him plan a party for Sonya's 30th. Mal suggests turning it into a double celebration (the development getting the go- ahead) but Toadie thinks that isn't wise then goes on to tell him about the run- in with Paul and that Sonya is getting it in the neck too. "You know you aren't going to get everyone round with cake and streamers," Mal points out and Toadie gets it but just wants it to be a special occasion for Sonya even if they think he's sold out!
(Later)
Mal does some searching online but the only suitable venue nearby is Lassiters! That is out for obvious reasons so he suggests an alternative - Number 30. Toadie doesn't think it's suitable but Mal convinces him that it would be more Sonya holding it there. Now he's convinced, Toadie mutters that it might be a good way too to start mending bridges before the party...
Number 26
And his first port of call is #26 where Kyle literally closes the door in his face when he finds out who has knocked on the door! Kyle ignores Toadie knocking (and calling) and isn't amused at Rhys letting him in! Toad explains what he is after but Kyle refuses to help - he doesn't want Toadie's charity and promptly shows him the door despite Toadie's protestations that he really can't put up a marquee!
Rhys tells Kyle all about the good (in his opinion) medical procedures that he is going to be observing in and wants to them to celebrate at Charlie's but Kyle is all down because of the development being approved. Rhys tries to reassure him his services will still be required but it's not really winning Kyle round.
Dial- a- Kyle
Sonya takes her life in her hands going to talk to Kyle while he is pounding away on a piece of wood with a hammer! She tells him about the meeting with David (the guy who called her) and that he will need to use Kyle's business too but he's still anti- her so isn't interested in the deal. He bluntly tells her that he doesn't work with people he doesn't trust - their deal of working together is off.
Number 26
Kyle arrives home and Rhys gets him out of his shell with the lure of his legendary nachos! Over the nachos, he apologies for his behaviour earlier and even agrees to the drinks Rhys suggested earlier.
Sonya's nursery
Sonya is teaching a bunch of primary kids about composting (the veggie garden thing) but just as she is beginning the lesson, discovers that one of the chickens has escaped from the coop! There is no adult free to help her and one of the kids is as petrified as she is but she puts aside her fears to go chase after the rogue chook which after a bit of chasing she eventually captures and returns to its rightful home. The kids applaud her and the one who was really scared hugs her with grateful thanks.
Number 30
Toadie confirms that the catering is all organised even if Mal thinks he's been ripped off! As they are discussing the arrangements, the cat is let out of the bag though when Sonya overhears them discussing it when she unexpectedly arrives home. "What party?" she asks.
(Later)
Toadie explains the rationale behind the party even if Sonya thinks that most of the other RSR's think they aren't the most popular neighbours around at the moment! She puts the kybosh on most of his ideas although agrees to still have a party but a more low- key one than he'd initially planned. They even agree a theme for the party too... a 'Something beginning with S party!'
Charlie's
Rhys and Kyle arrive for their drinking session and head straight for the pool table. Kyle has the mis- fortune to run into some other customer who isn't enthralled at his petition or that the locals are objecting to the development. Rhys seems quite oblivious as to the effect the customer is having on Kyle.
Number 30
Toadie spots Sonya looking at a drawing one of the kids did for her. She tells her about Jamie being petrified of the loose chicken and that she got it back in the coop. Sonya admits to him that she missed out on Callum being that age but is looking forward to doing it when they have a child.
Charlie's exterior veranda
Kyle and Rhys take their drinks outside and continue to chat. Both seem impressed (for different reasons) with the others job although unlike Kyle, Rhys doesn't want to live in Erinsborough for the rest of his life.
Charlie's
Rhys comes inside for another round of drinks and remarks to some lady that "he wasn't worth it" I.e. the person who stood her up. He begins trying to chat her up when her said boyfriend approaches them wondering what is going on - it's the same guy who was venting about Kyle's petition earlier on. The guy isn't amused at Rhys cracking onto his girlfriend and Kyle (who has also entered the bar) tells him to go seeing as he commented earlier that he wasn't impressed with Erinsborough. The guy doesn't like that and both he and Kyle go to square up to each other until Rhys stands between them trying to calm the situation.
KYLE: Walk away mate. Walk away.
The guy doesn't like that one bit and asks if they want to take things outside and despite Rhys trying to stop him, Kyle replies, "let's do it."
Lassiters Complex
Kyle, Rhys, the guy and a couple of his mates walk out the front door of Charlie's into the complex. Rhys tries to get Kyle to go home but they both ignore him and start on the verbal insults. Rhys decides he's heard enough and leaves Kyle to it, which gives the guy further ammunition to throw at Kyle. And just as the promo kicks in, it looks like the pair of them begin fighting.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Andrew worried he won't get any future business if he can't deliver this order.
- The guy demanding the car he ordered or his money back.
- Lucas winding Kyle up when he notices his bruised face.
- Kyle not impressed with Rhys.
- Andrew voicing his concern that Noah has a crush on Kate.
- Kate rejecting that suggestion.
- Noah and Andrew confronting each other.
