This week on Neighbours
Toadie telling Harold that he just can't keep coming in and out of their lives.
Mark worried.
Summer refusing to lie to Andrew for Paul.
Tash calling things off with Ivan.
Are things about to move on with Jade and Kyle?
Previously on Neighbours
Jade keen on Kyle but he wants her help to get with Kate.
Kyle losing the bet with Lou and quitting his job.
Number 26
Jade is trying hard to get Kyle to reconsider but he's not changing his mind, indeed telling her that he should have stood up to Lou earlier.
Ramsay Street
While Lou sees the $2k cheque he got from Kyle as compensation for not putting Kyle in his box earlier! Harold is adamant he shouldn't at least bank the cheque and somehow give it back to Kyle even if he did return it to Lou after he initially returned it.
Number 26
Jade tries and fails to persuade Kyle to at least take the cheque back but he makes it clear it's no longer up for discussion. She then tries to find out what his plans are going to be now he's out of work.
Ramsay Street
Harold tries to find out from Lou who he is going to get to replace Kyle and he replies nobody, he can do it all himself especially since he just proved he can beat a 20 year old!
Number 26
Kyle is now trying to look on what happened as the opening of a new door until Jade asks where that door is!
Harold's Store
Jade checks with Kate to see how Lou is over the whole Kyle thing and she replies that he's not backing down and that she thinks that they should just leave them two to sort things out between them.
A very smart Kyle comes into the store and the ladies complement him on how he is dressed but the appearance isn't helping him to get a new job - he's been to five other car yards and nobody is hiring. He then tells them about another opening - mining work in the west. Jade seems rather stunned by this news and rushes out of the store, telling them she'll be back soon!
(Later)
Jade returns to the store with Nikki - she is one of Jade's clients who invests in the right business if she can see a decent return. Kyle is immediately on board and they agree to meet later once he has his business proposal for her to see.
(Later)
Harold joins Lou as he is calling around sorting out a few bills that have run up whilst he was on his very long 2 weeks in Sydney! Lou is getting into a right panic over how messy Kyle has the books in and wants to concentrate on getting that sorted rather than stopping for a quick break for elevenses with Harold even if he's had nothing to eat so far today.
"Would you like a bagel?" Harold greets Lucas with as he trades places with Lou, but it isn't quite the freebie Lucas thought it was! Turns out it's a bribe for Lucas to keep a friendly eye on Lou, we find out when Harold tells Carolyn why she no longer has a bagel!
Car yard/Garage
And Lucas is enjoying his bagel (and a cuppa) as he watches Lou try to flog a car to someone.
Harold's Store
Harold seems to be fighting a losing battle trying to convince Carolyn and Kate that Lou needs help/to slow down.
Car yard/Garage
Lou settles the punter into the car while he goes to get the keys and as he turns, he spots Lucas. He doesn't notice that there is a reason why Lucas is watching and is happy to prove it to him that he still has it in him!
Harold's Store
Harold still isn't getting anywhere with Carolyn and Kate, they seem more than happy that Lou can manage fine enough. Carolyn complements him though for caring about Lou and Kate adds that she doesn't think there is anything to worry about either.
Car yard
Except when we cut back to the car yard, Lou has a slight wobble as he is leaving the office but quickly brushes it off as he returns to the punter.
Charlie's
"It's about time you two came up for air," Jade remarks to her sister when she joins her at the table she is sharing with Toadie (he's at the bar). Sonya relays that they've heard nothing from Troy and that Cal seems to be handling things okay. Now its Sonya's turn to quiz Jade on why she is smiling and she replies that she was helping out a friend.
Toadie joins them and Sonya invites her back with them to catch up but she declines although says they can catch up at the party. She then reminds them about the party at her place however she gets distracted in telling them when she spots Nikki and Kyle at the other side of the bar and seems to be paying more attention to them than what Toadie and Sonya are saying - especially the bits where they put their hands on top of the others, Nikki hands him a suit and when Kyle kisses her on the cheek before leaving!
Charlie's
Commercial break later and Jade slides up to chat with Nikki on how things are going with Kyle. Nikki replies that it's going very well but isn't sure yet whether to back him or not. She then tells Jade that they are going to discuss things more over lunch although Jade seems to put 2+2 together when Nikki mentions that they are meeting first in Charlie's then going to Lassiters.
Harold's Store
Carolyn tries to cheer Harold up that Lou will be alright when he seems rather down in the dumps and not exactly keen to do anything on what is their penultimate day in Erinsborough. "I'm probably worrying too much," he says and Carolyn gives in and tells him to call.
Garage/Harold's Store/Car yard
Harold calls Lucas to get an update and he replies that the bagel was delicious and yes, he is keeping an eye on Lou. "He can't put a foot wrong," Lucas tells Harold since Lou is apparently on top form in his eyes although it isn't music to Harold's ears. Harold asks him to visibly check on Lou and Lucas reports that all is well, indeed remarking that he wishes he had half his energy! Lucas then updates further to say that Lou is now taking a breather (sitting down) and again promises to keep an eye on him.
Harold's Store
All that the phonecall has done for Harold is prove that Lou is overdoing things, as he suspected. Carolyn warns against him going down to see Lou and then adds she has an idea!
And in the kitchen, Jade sounds off to Kate over the whole Kyle/Nikki thing even though Kate can't see anything wrong with them going to lunch. Kate then quizzes her as to why she is taking such a keen interest and she fobs an 'I don't want to see him being ripped off' reply before adding further that she doesn't want to lose Nikki as a client if things go sour too and she takes it out on Jade. Kate tries to get her to see it from another angle - if things go well, she could get more clients!
Charlie's
Jade walks into the bar and immediately spots Nikki and Kyle, both of whom look very smart - her in a dress and Kyle in a suit complete with a real tie! She storms over to them when she spots Nikki adjusting (innocently) his tie.
JADE: First of all I want you to know I am not judging you.
She then changes her mind and decides now that she is!
JADE: What you are doing is disgusting.
NIKKI: (puzzled) What?
JADE: Taking advantage of him because he's desperate for money.
NIKKI: I beg your pardon?
JADE: No you heard me.
KYLE: (interrupting) Jade!
JADE: And you. (turning round to him) Look, I know you have this whole cougar thing going on but seriously...
Kyle decides enough is enough and asks her outright what she is doing! She doesn't feel she's done anything wrong and instead blurts out that it's him who is sneaking off to a hotel room with Nikki. "Her partner is going to be there," Kyle tries to tell her and she interprets this as being a threesome!
JADE: (unamused) The three of you? That's just awesome!
After Kyle explains that it's the board in the business suite he is meeting for lunch and the suit is rented from a company Nikki owns, I think Jade wishes the ground would immediately open up and swallow her! Sadly for Kyle though, Jade's actions have resulted in Nikki pulling out of potentially backing him and as a parting gift, Nikki also fires Jade too with instructions that she doesn't want to hear from either of them again!
Ramsay Street
Jade does her best to try and apologise to Kyle for stuffing up and tries to put a bright side to things - he is no worse off unlike her who is now down one best client! Kyle rants off at her as they make their way towards #26 and wants to hear why she did what she did. She tries to say that she thought Nikki was using him (for sex) but its not washing with him and he heads up the stairs after telling her to forget it.
Harold's Store
"Aren't you supposed to yell surprise and throw party poppers at these things," Lou remarks when he enters the store to find a reception committee of Harold, Carolyn, Toadie and Kate waiting for him. Begrudgingly, he sits down although if he had things his way he'd have just got a sandwich and left.
"You are far too old to be working like this," Harold bluntly tells him and Toadie pushes Lou down when he goes to leave. Lou insists he isn't overdoing it and isn't amused to find out that Lucas was spying on him too when he tried to claim that he was just doing bookwork. Lou makes his feelings known a bit more forcibly that he isn't amused and doesn't want to be treated like an invalid either. The others express concern for him, even if he doesn't appreciate it, and informs them that he knows his limitations which he hasn't reached by a long shot!
Lou leaves the group and heads to the counter and Harold follows suit to try and get him to listen but all his one- to- one results in is Lou storming off back to work after Harold's true colours shown through (telling Lou that he was a silly old fool).
Car yard
Lou arrives back to be greeted by Lucas and takes it out on him what happened at the store and his role too. "They are just trying to help," Lucas pleads but Lou isn't interested, even more so when Lucas suggests to him that he really doesn't look well.
LOU: (angry) I'm not ready to go on the scrapheap yet so you and your bunch of do- gooders can just back off.
LUCAS: Okay.
Lucas then says he's off to get something and just about gets his head bitten off when he asks if Lou wants anything.
Harold's Store
When he enters the store, Lucas tells Harold and Carolyn that he may have made things worse by telling Lou to go easy. "This really has turned out very badly," Harold laments and Carolyn suggests giving him some space until he calms down. Harold wants to go with Lucas back to the car yard to apologise but Lucas doesn't think its the right time, he sides with Carolyn in thinking that time and space will be best.
Car yard
Lou seems happy that the cars are looking all ship shape as he surveys them but as he bends down to pick up the keys he accidentally dropped, he is far from ship shape! He is having another dizzy turn, but more serious than pervious, ultimately (in slow mo) collapsing to the ground.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- The teens not keen on going to the #26 housewarming.
- Mark trying to get Kyle and Jade at least talking to each other for the sake of the party.
- Kyle and Jade dancing.
- News breaking that Lou is in hospital.
