Recap
- Sophie being given a makeover by Summer
- Summer crusading against the no- uniform policy
- Libby wanting to be Principal but unwilling to cooperate with Paul
- Michael questioning the no- uniform policy
Number 28
Karl and Susan have a bicker about the whereabouts of Harold's tuba - Susan can't believe that Karl has lost it but Karl only says that it's not in the garage. Karl spots the front page article of Summer protesting the no- uniform policy in the newspaper and they both sigh that Paul is exploiting minors to sell newspapers. Susan comments on how she's relieved that she's not teaching anymore because she hates the idea of being stuck between a principal and a student.
Ramsay Street
Lyn is has seen the front page of the newspaper and is freaking out. Summer strolls out but she's pretty nonplussed about it all.
SUMMER: It's nothing, Nan.
LYN: Your picture on the front page of the newspaper is *nothing*?!
Lyn wants to know why Summer didn't just speak to Michael about it rather than protest, but Summer insists that it's over and that's why she's wearing casual. Lyn warns her to keep a low profile and not to speak to Paul!
Summer is surprised to see Andrew walking out of Number 22 wearing uniform. He's supporting her cause but she wants him to change because she doesn't want to cause trouble. It's too late, though - he has started a Facebook group to protest the policy.
Number 24
Sophie takes off the jacket that she was going to wear because she's worn it three times that week already. Kate suggests accessorising like Donna would and plops a beanie on Soph's head, but Sophie can tell it's just the same outfit - with a black beanie.
KATE: I would love to go shopping, OK, for both of us, but we just don't have the money right now.
SOPHIE: What if I don't eat for a week?
Sophie also suggests candles instead of electricity, but it's not really Kate's idea of money saving!
Harold's Store
Sophie sees Lyn being run off her feet because one of the staff has called in sick, so she offers to help out since she needs the money for clothes. She's only 13 though, and Lyn doesn't want to add breaking- child- labour- laws to her list of problems, so unfortunately Sophie will need to find another way of making money.
Lassiter's Complex
Summer and Andrew are walking to school when they meet up with Chris outside Harold's. He's in uniform too because he's always happy to support a cause for Summer. Sophie approaches them.
SOPHIE: Have you got any dance parties coming up you need any help with?
ANDREW: Uhh, that was random.
And no, he doesn't. They're surprised that Sophie is looking for a job since she's only 13, but they make some suggestions like newspaper delivery or babysitting. Andrew thinks babysitting is a goldmine since Declan used to fork out plenty for babysitters. Sophie then wonders why they're wearing uniforms.
Erinsborough High - Hallway
Summer, Andrew and Chris walk in and see other students wearing uniforms, until they see Tash walk up in casual.
NATASHA: What's with the army of clones?
SUMMER: You really don't get the irony, do you Tash.
Tash reckons she's still got the numbers but Andrew isn't so sure so Tash makes a snarky comment about Andrew always taking Summer's side. Natasha then takes a good natured dig at Chris for wearing basketball singlets when he's not on the basketball court and Summer instantly pounces on Natasha for being judgemental and only hanging out with them because she hasn't got anyone cooler to hang out with. Tash calls her out for being a hypocrite since Summer only pays attention to her when she's down so that Summer can feel good about herself. They're interrupted by Michael who demands to see them in his office.
Erinsborough High - Michael's Office
Mike is unimpressed with the uniform and as well as the casual outfit. He sets some guidelines - the uniform is still out, however casual does not mean nightclub outfits. No more dangly earrings, miniskirts and high heels. Tash complains that that's what her entire wardrobe consists of! Libby walks past and listens in at the doorway.
Outside Harold's
Susan and Karl are bickering again as the tuba has been found and Suse can't believe that Karl didn't see it! Karl sees Libby having lunch with Paul off in the distance and he doesn't like it at all. Susan tells him it's too bad since its Libby's life, and she suggests that perhaps it has to do with the school board.
Over at the lunch table, Libby clues Paul in that Mike might be ditching the policy.
PAUL: But if he scraps the policy, then it doesn't look good for you. Well you backed him at the board meeting, didn't you? So the stink is all over you as well.
She looks thoughtful, but she's unwilling to back Paul's other suggestion: that Summer be punished for breaking the rules, Libby be credited for it, the policy be ditched, and then a vote of no- confidence when the board is on side. Libby flat out says that she won't do it at the expense of a student but Paul puts doubt in her mind when he says it's the perfect opportunity.
Erinsborough High - Playground
Summer, Andrew and Chris are discussing how long they'll protest for and the consensus is until the policy is overturned. Summer passes Libby on the way to get a drink and Libby looks like she wants to say something but instead she just tells her not to walk past rubbish and to put it in the bin.
Harold's Store
Sophie's putting up flyers for her potential babysitting jobs. Lyn's happy to support and thinks it's a great idea; however she can't keep it up if Kate doesn't know.
SOPHIE: She's not the boss of me.
LYN: Soph, she is.
Lyn offers to hold onto the flyer and put it back up when Sophie's told Kate.
Erinsborough High - Michael's Office
Mike is being hounded on the phone by parents as per usual. He confides to Lib that it's probably best to end the policy before the school board drags him out for a meeting. It looks like Libby has decided to sell her soul as she takes Paul's advice and suggests to Mike that perhaps the "ringleader" should be punished. Mike doesn't think that Summer is the problem, Paul Robinson is, but Libby doesn't want the students to think that Mike is buckling under their pressure.
Erinsborough High - Classroom
Michael has called a meeting with the students to let them know that the policy has been cancelled and everyone is required to wear uniform the next day and onwards. Tash is upset while Andrew and Summer are not. Michael asks Summer to stay behind and he looks like he's dreading what he has to do.
Erinsborough High - Hallway
Andrew and Tash are waiting for Summer.
NATASHA: Dad's probably giving her one of those "I'm so disappointed in you" lectures.
Summer exits the classroom and tells them that she's been suspended. Libby walks out as well and Andrew insists that he be suspended instead, or as well, since he was the one who stirred things up.
LIBBY: The decision's been made; it's out of my hands.
Andrew thinks it's unfair but Summer wants Andrew to just leave it since it's not Libby's fault, and Libby has the decency to have a shadow of guilt cross her face. Summer reasons that she could do with a break and she's kind of looking forward to it.
Ramsay Street
Lyn's having a little trouble with Charlie as she tries to bundle him into the car but he doesn't want to go. She bumps into Sophie who offers to babysit, which Lyn is very reluctant about but eventually agrees to it.
Erinsborough High - Classroom
Michael thanks Libby for backing his policy even though she didn't agree with it. He offers to trial her at Assistant Principal and all is well until Paul strolls in. He makes a snarky comment about Michael not being in control and as Mike leaves, Libby genuinely thanks him for agreeing to mentor her. She's quite stunned at the turn of events and looking a little bit guilty while Paul just looks all sorts of pleased.
Number 24
Sophie tries to get Charlie to stop playing with Jade's stuff and she manages to convince him to draw even though he calls it "boring". The phone rings and Soph chats to a friend about her babysitting job while Charlie sneaks out.
Number 24
Lyn and Kate walk in having a laugh about the ridiculousness of Summer being suspended for wearing uniform. A crying Sophie runs in from the backyard and tearfully confesses that she doesn't know where Charlie has gone. Kate tries to calm everyone down by saying that he's only been gone 10 minutes so they're sure to find him, and Lyn rushes out the door while Kate gives Sophie a hug.

(Paul and Karl are looking at Libby)
PAUL: That is the picture of a very hardworking ambitious young lady.
(Karl and Susan at Number 28)
KARL: She's come to a point in life where work is all- consuming.
SUSAN: Libby has been through enough. She doesn't need you making things worse.
KARL: Life needs balance!
(Karl introducing a man to Libby at Charlie's)
KARL: John, this is my daughter.
LIBBY (V.O): I'm going to kill dad!
(Everyone is looking for Charlie)
LYN (V.O): Did you find him?
(Summer hugs Lyn)
SUMMER: I'm so sorry, Nan.
LYN (V.O): Something's happened to upset him and Sophie must know what it is.
PAUL (to Lyn): You're supposed to be looking after that boy since his mother went to jail, and what have you done so far? You need to have a good hard look in the mirror Lyn, you might see the real reason Charlie ran away.
