- Sonya worrying about keeping her secret
- Toadie and Jade trying to find common ground
- Lyn causing a scene at #28 and getting Summer offside
Number 32/Number 28
Lyn brings Charlie home from his sleepover after he had nightmares. He asks to see Summer but Lyn says she'll help him get ready for bed instead. Charlie stroppily says he doesn't need his Nan's help and walks off.
Meanwhile, Susan is having a chat with Summer over a cuppa, trying to console her about Lyn. Susan reminds Summer that her Nan's struggling, but Summer says she's been dealing with her own problems lately too. If her Nan thinks so little of her to believe schoolyard gossip, then Summer's not sure she wants to mend fences.
Sonya and Callum escape to another room to play X- Box, sick of hearing Jade go on about how she predicted Lucas's downfall. Toadie smirks and says he's finally got Jade figured out - she's a bad winner. Jade scoffs and says she could say the same thing about Toadie, and she's got just the thing to prove it. An epic Game... OF LIFE! battle where neither one of them is allowed to win. The first one to crack has to be the other's slave for a day. When Sonya and Callum are called back to join them, Sonya nearly bolts, but Toadie and Jade convince her they just want some family time together.
Harold's Store - Next Morning
Lucas buys a latte from Kate but she's pretty cold with him. The #30 gang arrive for some breakfast with Sonya and Callum gloating about how they won The Game... OF LIFE! Their bragging eats away at Jade until she can't stand it any longer and blurts out that she and Toadie lost on purpose. Toadie's eyes light up - Jade's just set herself up for twenty- four hours of torment.
Sonya, Callum and Sophie wait in the rotunda until they finally see Jade return from lugging Toadie around the park in a makeshift rickshaw. Jade complains that she's pinched a nerve in her back but Toadie's ready for another round.
Susan checks up on Lyn after last night's debacle and Lyn admits that she was just surprised Summer confided in Susan and not her. Lyn feels as though she's slowly losing everything that matters in her life.
LYN: (upset) We're not biologically related.
SUSAN: Lyn what has that got to do with anything?
LYN: Perhaps she doesn't think I have anything to offer her anymore.
SUSAN: Because she came to me once? Lyn you're her Nan, you always will be.
Susan encourages Lyn to go and talk to Summer and sort things out.
Lyn catches Summer as she returns from walking Audrey, but Summer's not really in the mood to listen. Lyn apologises for not believing Summer about Zeke, and brings up the whole ‘confiding in Susan' thing again, but Summer just angrily replies that Susan doesn't judge her. Lyn gets upset and says that's not fair but Summer says she's just sick of everything - talking about her problems, living at #32 and seeing Andrew with Tash. She quickly thanks Lyn for apologising, but things still aren't the same between them.
First Commercial Break
Toadie stops to chat with Lucas and let him know he's still got him as a mate. Lucas says he just got back from a GA meeting and that he's staying at the shed for a while. Toadie gets a text from Sonya letting him know the women's calendar proofs are in and invites Lucas along to check them out. Lucas is wary, wanting to distance himself from Ramsay Street (and Kate) for a while, but Toadie reminds him he could bump into Kate anywhere in Erinsborough.
TOADIE: You've done a stupid thing, it happens to everyone at some stage... Not exactly what you did but you get my point. The main thing is that you're doing something to sort it out.
Susan, Sonya and Jade try to hold back the laughs as Karl, Toadie and Lucas realise their calendar wasn't a nudie one. The girls' calendar has them dressed up like 50s housewives with recipes next to them.
KARL: What was all the business with the melons?!
SUSAN: They were melons!
The guys pretend to be annoyed but you can see they're amused that the girls managed to trick them (except maybe for Toadie). Karl reclines on the couch in a pose and says the guys are still going to prove that nudity sells.
Jade finds Toadie folding washing and wonders why he didn't make her do it, but Toadie says she's off the hook. Jade can't even stand to lose being a slave, though, and says the deal's still on. Sonya says she'll join in too (feeling bad for tricking Toadie about the calendar). A smile plays on Toadie's face - he's got a certain request in mind...
Jade and Sonya stand in the lounge room wearing their outfits from the calendar, much to Toadie, Callum and Sophie's amusement. Toadie wants the girls to cook up a feast for the three of them. Jade claims she doesn't know how, but Toadie hands her some tongs and says that anybody can BBQ a steak.
Karl and Susan show Kate the proof prints from the girls calendar. Susan then takes Lyn aside on the same premise, but really she wants to know how things with Summer went (shoving Karl away in the process). Lyn sadly tells her that Summer's still angry and she doesn't know how she's going to make it up to her. But when Lyn flicks through the calendar she gets an idea and asks Susan if she could take it to the printer's herself.
Second Commercial Break
Lyn brings the calendar to show Summer, who isn't keen on looking at it at first, but then Lyn points out the dedication she recently added. “For Summer. My granddaughter. My family. My rock.” Summer's touched and Lyn says that while the calendar is helping to fix their house, she's hopeful it will fix their family as well.
LYN: You mean the world to me, Sum. I want to be the one you turn to, to talk to. I mean, when you want to talk of course. I just can't stand not being part of your life.
SUMMER: That is never going to happen.
LYN: I wasn't sure if you wanted to come home, even after the rebuild.
SUMMER: I can't wait to come home to our home. It doesn't matter where I live, you're always going to be my Nan.
They hug it out, Lyn looking very relieved.
Sonya and Jade collect Toadie and Callum's plates after lunch but can't believe the boys still want dessert. And pavlova of all things. Sophie appears to tell them that the BBQ's still on and Jade admits she didn't know how to turn it off. Toadie and the kids head outside to fix it up.
Karl puts out some new stock of the boys' calendar next to the girls while Susan says they should have a public launch. Karl's not sure, but Lucas walks up and says he just got two girls' phone numbers outside so the more public the event the better.
SUSAN: Maybe we should get Lou to do a TV ad?
KARL: Ugh, thanks for that visual.
Lyn and Summer sit down to eat and Lyn asks if everything's OK between her and Zeke. Summer says everything's fine - he leaves for London next week and she's already shut down all the online gossip.
LYN: That's great, love. I mean I know you'd never do anything that silly. You sneaking around behind everyone's back? You're hardly the type!
Summer just plasters on a grin and goes to get a drink.
Toadie and Callum can hardly move from the couch after their massive afternoon of eating. Jade encourages them to go for a walk before taking her mobile for a call, so Toadie heads out with the kids while Sonya cleans up. Jade returns to the lounge room in tears and tells Sonya that their Gran died.
Sonya stares at a photo of her, Toadie and Callum while Jade gets funeral details on the phone from their sister, Robyn. Jade tells Sonya that the funeral's on Monday. Sonya cries and says she always wanted to see their Gran again to apologise and thank her for raising Callum but now it's too late. They're worried about Callum but Sonya says there's no way they can keep this from him. Jade reminds her sister that unless she's ready for Callum to know the truth then she has to keep this a secret.
Third Commercial Break
Sonya paces the lounge room and says that if Callum goes to the funeral then someone's bound to mention their names. She's worried she's going to lose Callum and Toadie for good, but the girls have to wipe away their tears when the boys get home. When Callum and Jade leave the room Toadie can see Sonya's down about something but she pretends she's fine. But when Toadie goes to make them a cuppa she breaks down into tears once more.
(Monday on Neighbours)
SOPHIE: (about Mark) He's good- looking, he's funny.
SUMMER: He can dance, he's great with his hands.
LUCAS: He alphabetises his cereal.
SOPHIE: And herbs and spices.
(Zeke puts some doubts into Kate's mind about ‘perfect' Mark)
ZEKE: If you're the weak link in the relationship then it's only a matter of time before the other person finds out and they realise they're too good for you.
(Callum's told about his Great- Gran's death)
SONYA: It has to be his decision.
JADE: You're just going to let it all come out?
(Callum has a chat with Sophie)
CALLUM: I don't know what I want to do. Do you think my mum will be there?
(Jade tries to comfort Sonya while she cries)
SONYA: Everything they think they know about me is a lie.
(Callum tells Toadie and Sonya he's made a decision about the funeral)
CALLUM: I want to go.
