This week on Neighbours
- Lucas racing bikes.
- Toadie being invited to join the Blokes Club.
- Tash wanting to know what is going on between Sum and Andrew.
- Rebecca commenting to Paul that he's not the only one who has changed.
- Paul informing Michael he's Rebecca's husband not her minder.
- Declan spelling things out to Michael - suck it up or walk away.
As the titles begin there is a change to them following Donna's departure last week - she has been removed from the shot with Declan and Kate, it's just the two of them now.
Previously on Neighbours
- Summer and Andrew agreeing on a pact.
- Lucas being given lots of money to do a job.
- Sonya demanding to know where Lucas is getting the money from.
Garage
Lucas works on the car that he was paid to strip.
Number 30
Toadie tries to distract Sonya by taking about gluten to stop her worrying about Lucas.
Garage
Lucas covers the shell with a tarp now it's been stripped.
Number 30
Toadie tries to offer suggestions why Lucas would have money and not from gambling but Sonya is very sceptical and she is still anti him too though for lying to her about it.
Garage
Lucas finishes loading up Garland's van of the car's parts and asks what he wants done with the shell. "What shell?" he replies back before driving off.
Number 30
Sonya is still adamant Lucas is hiding something from her and Toadie reminds her about trust and that it works both ways. "I just don't want to see him undo all his hard work," she tells him.
Garage
Lucas counts out his money for the job - lots of green $100 bills!
Number 30
After realising Sonya isn't going to give up, Toadie suggests they do some espionage!
Harold's
...And it begins with Sonya shouting Lucas his coffee (as way of an apology) then subtly getting an invite to the garage on the pretence that there is something wrong with her bicycle.
Number 32
Tash and Sum get ready for their first day back at school. Sum isn't exactly comfortable in Donna's old dress and that she only has a week to get through before she and Andrew can tell Tash about them being a couple.
"You look like you shrunk in the wash," is Tash's indomitable way of telling Sum she looks awful in her baggy uniform and offers her the use of her spare, albeit customised I.e. very short/tight!, uniform. Tash is surprised that Sum wants to wear her customised dress and after a few more friendly insults, talks Sum into undergoing a makeover too including doing something with her fringe!
TASH: Oh you've no idea how long I've wanted to do this.
Ramsay Street
And we glimpse our first look at the "new Summer" and I must say I do struggle to recognise her as Andrew joins her she waits for Tash to leave the house. "Did she drug you?" Andrew asks when Sum explains to him why she let Tash loose on herself. He follows that up with, "you look hot by the way," moments before Tash joins them and pulls Andrew down for the compulsory kiss.
School
Andrew moans to the girls about his heavy timetable for Year 12 but doesn't get much sympathy from Tash. Again, before he heads off to class, Tash demands a kiss from him but as he gives her a peck on the cheek he looks at Summer.
Tash has picked up on the look and quizzes Summer about it when Andrew leaves. Sum lies and says it means that she has to keep an eye on her when he isn't around. Thankfully, Tash buys it although wishes he'd understand that she is fine. And to keep the pretence up, Sum invites Tash to go shopping with her after school for some new clothes and gives her carte blanch to style her wardrobe!
Garage
Sonya feigns wanting a cuppa so she can look inside the garage as Lucas works on her bike outside. As she rakes around though, Lucas catches her big style and is furious and orders her out of the garage.
Charlie's
Garland joins Lucas and Billy at a table after he returns with their drinks. He admits that he recognises Lucas' name and Lucas confirms Garland's question that he used to race bikes for Reyada. Billy interjects to say that Lucas has just got a new bike too but their conversation is interrupted when Toadie arrives at the bar. Lucas re- introduces him to Billy and Garland introduces himself as a friend of Billy's, before Toadie hobbles over to another table.
Alone again, the guys talk bikes before Lucas picks up on Garland's subtle hints to ask if there is another car he wants worked on. Garland suggests that there are better uses for his talent than under a bonnet, "I've got something that I think you'll find a little bit more appealing," he teases Lucas with as we head into the first commercial break.
Charlie's
Lucas takes the chance to quiz Billy about Garland while he gets them drinks from the bar. Billy admits that he's know him for a while and admits that he owes Garland for getting him out of a tight spot. Lucas confesses the last thing he'd picture Billy doing is getting involved with illegal bike racing. "There's decent money in it if you're good," Billy replies but Lucas isn't interested, even after a bit of goading by Billy over him being the rebel in rehab, because he fears being back in a wheelchair again.
Having returned with more drinks, Garland wants an answer from Lucas but he sticks to his guns - he isn't racing, and leaves them to head back to work.
Garage
Garland's parting comments of, "it's never too late to start again, its just like riding a bike," has obviously got to Lucas because when he gets back to the garage he heads straight for a storage unit that contains all his bike related memorabilia including the 'my hero' poster Ben did of him.
Harold's
Sonya confesses to Toadie that the espionage is over after Lucas caught her and remembers what it's like being accused like that.
TOADIE: So what's for lunch then, the humble pie?
She decides instead on a salad sandwich before she goes to apologise and meanwhile Tash breezes into the store armed with ideas on the clothes Summer is going to be looking at when they go shopping. Sum suggests they take Chris along with them for a second opinion but Tash takes the hump, so Sum relents that it will just be the two of them.
(Later)
"How was the shopping trip?" Andrew asks when he enters the store to find a depressed Summer surrounded by a pile of bags and when she shows him an example of what they bought, he can see why she has a face on! (It was a rather skimpy top - so not Summer!) Quietly, after checking Tash is still at the counter, he asks if she is seriously going to wear this stuff.
SUMMER: I'd rather staple myself into a doona cover.
ANDREW: Can I watch?!
With a smile on her face, she tells him to stop it, and confirms that the stuff is going back. Andrew then reminds her that what she is doing isn't necessary but she replies that she feels she should be doing something too, it isn't just his problem.
ANDREW: Longest week ever.
SUMMER: Mmm.
Tash rejoins them and both lie about loving the new wardrobe and Andrew suddenly decides he's got other plans when Tash invites him to join them for more shopping.
Number 32
Sum finally bites when she draws the line at Tash wanting her to not just get her hair cut have it dyed too. "Finally," Tash tells her then confesses that she lasted longer than the 5 minutes she'd given her before cracking.
TASH: Come on Summer, you might be a fashion car crash but you are not a try- hard and you've been trying way too hard lately... so start talking!
Number 32
Commercial break later and Sum admits she feels guilty about her and Michael having a sudden new family land upon them although Tash reminds her that they offered them a roof over their heads. "I know," Sum agrees then adds that she thought that it would help Tash keep her mind off [her injuries] since it was the first day back at school. Tash asks if it was Andrew's idea [Sum doesn't say no] and like earlier says that they don't need to worry about her and this sharing thing won't be forever.
TASH: Things would just be a lot easier if we were honest with each other. Agreed!
Sum nods her head in acknowledgement of Tash's question before being asked to name one thing that Tash does that annoys her. After being pushed for an answer, Sum replies she doesn't like her 6am alarm clock courtesy of Tash using the hairdryer.
TASH: Good, see we can do this. From now on we're straight with each other.
Sum tries to escape to do her laundry but Tash tells her to sit and listen to her list and it may take a while!
Charlie's
Andrew is happy to hear that things are okay between Tash and Summer when he and Tash chat over a lemon squash. She confirms to him too that Summer has taken back the clothes although did keep one or two things back for herself.
Number 24
Lucas is looking through his racing memorabilia when Billy calls him to tell him about a race happening that afternoon. Lucas makes it clear he isn't interested in racing, although Billy suggests it would be purely as a spectator. He quickly ends the call when he hears a knock at the door - its Sonya round to apologise for doubting him.
Sonya admits that Jade's return has brought out a lot of stuff and she took it out on him, she realises he's put that stuff behind him and shouldn't have had a go. "Thanks," he says as Sonya notices the racing memorabilia and begins to look through it. "You look so happy," Sonya observes when she looks though the photos and before she leaves, they share a hug re- affirming that they are good.
Lucas gets out his phone when she leaves and notices a text from Billy telling him the time and location of where the race will be and you can literally see him weighing up what to do!
Headland Street
As Billy finishes getting people's bets on the race and Garland is talking to them, Lucas literally rocks up on his bike doing wheelie and revving the bike loudly to show it off. "You want to place a bet?" Billy asks and Lucas replies no because he doesn't bet - but tells Billy to place all the money he has in his pockets on him to win the race!
"Market's open," Garland announces and the punters crowd round to place fresh bets on the new rider in the race as we head into the final commercial break.
Headland Street
The race is over and racers and spectators return to the back of the warehouses. Lucas has won the race and he is literally on cloud 9! so much so he rejects the winnings from Billy and he asks if this was just one last ride for old times sake?
GARLAND: After that performance, I'd be disappointed not to see you again out here Lucas.
LUCAS: When's the next race?
BILLY: You're coming back?
LUCAS: Mate, I'm not giving up this feeling for anything! WOOH!
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Sophie threatening to kill Callum.
- Callum impersonating Sophie in the store.
- Tash not caring less about Callum and Sophie being friends.
- Sophie unimpressed after Callum told Tash about her crush on Zeke.
- Mark paying Lucas a visit.
- Jade telling Sonya she should cut Lucas loose.
- Lucas ordering someone out of the garage.
And as the credits begin, Donna's name has been removed although an error has been corrected - Jade was incorrectly added to the credits last week, she is still just a guest.
