Recap
Sonya moving into Toadie's and wanting to keep her old house stuff.
Lyn hoping that Steph will appeal her conviction; Summer and Toadie trying to convince her otherwise.
Lyn hiring Tim Collins, and the first payment being much higher than Lyn expected.
Lyn signing the contract with Tim Collins.
Ramsay Street
Tim leaves the Scully house with Lyn pleased; Tim assures her that Steph will be pleased once she's convinced of this. Toadie spots Tim getting in the car, saying goodbye to Lyn.
TOADIE: What are you doing here?
TIM: My job. Because you couldn't do yours...
LYN: Tim, please...
TOADIE: Tell me you haven't...
Tim drives off and Toadie is horrified at what Lyn's done...
Number 26
In the kitchen Lyn tells Toadie that she assumed he was no longer involved when he refused to do Steph's appeal, so she went and got another lawyer.
TOADIE: You haven't got a lawyer, you got a parasite!
LYN: At least he's doing something!
Toadie points out that Steph will lose the case and get a harder sentence, but Lyn's just not listening. Toadie storms out, furious; Summer's now concerned that Toadie might be right...
Number 30
Sonya's cooking whilst Toadie complains about Lyn and what's happening with Tim Collins, and how they're appealing when Steph doesn't want them to. Toadie admits that he was relieved when Lyn said he was no longer involved - he's glad not to be a part of this anymore. He says he wants to spend more proper time with Sonya now, and go away somewhere together, with Callum.
Toadie thinks that they could grab a holiday next week, and Sonya is delighted - it sounds great! They can pick Callum up from camp then go away together.
Lassiter's
Lou is looking at a Citizen Of The Year (COTY) leaflet and approaches Lucas and Sophie at the table.
LOU: I was hoping you two would come in. It's been ages.
LUCAS: Er, Lou, we live in the same house, and I was in here an hour ago.
LOU: Yeah, well, it seems like ages.
He offers free cake with their drinks, and Lucas and Soph immediately want to know what's going on. They see his COTY leaflets, and realise he's trying to buy them with cake. Lucas orders two pieces of (free) mocha fudge, and two drinks.
Lou sees the Kennedys arriving.
LOU: Ah, it's my favourite couple! It's been ages!
The Ks look confused.
Number 28
Karl, Susan, Donna and Zeke all arrive home together discussing Lou's desperate plea for votes for the COTY award. Susan and Donna work on putting the community quilt away, and Zeke admires how Susan organised it all. Karl - looking at the COTY leaflet and watching Susan - has an idea, and offers to put the quilt away for them whilst they all relax.
Susan watches Karl put the quilt away and then - looking at the COTY leaflet - also gets an idea...
Number 30
Sonya and Toadie are looking up holidays for the following week, whilst Sonya calls her boss about taking the week off. They're over the moon that it's all coming together. Sonya's mobile rings and she answers it.
Whoever's on the line has really startled her and she moves to another room. In a panic she tells the other person not to phone her again.
Back in the kitchen she tells Toadie to book the holiday anyway; they need to get away.
Later that night, in the dark, Sonya creeps into the kitchen to see she has three missed calls all from the same person. She gets a text message: "coming to see you" and so phones the caller back. She asks them why they're bothering her, and says she's going away tomorrow. She doesn't want to see them, but they've put the phone down on her.
The next morning Sonya lies to Toadie that work called with an emergency and she has to go in today, despite their holiday. She tells him to go on ahead with Cal, whilst she works, and she'll be up in a couple of days when work finishes. Toadie believes her without any suspicion, and they kiss.
Toadie's phone rings - it's Summer.
Harold's Store
Lou is pestering Lucas about whether or not he's nominated him, yet. He hasn't. Lucas says he'll do it if he gets a free breakfast.
Summer brings Toadie and Sonya into the store, and Toad tells Lyn that he's going away today, so he's not going to get involved with the Steph thing. However, he reminds her that the contract with Tim has a three- day cooling off period. Lyn's not interested, and Toadie points out that she won't be able to care for Summer and Charlie if she spends all this cash on Tim - and when the appeal fails, Steph will have even less.
Summer begs her nan to call and cancel the contract.
Number 28
Susan is on the phone over breakfast - someone has called to tell her that someone's nominated her for the COTY award. Everyone else around the table is thrilled for her whilst Karl smiles secretly. She says that they couldn't tell her who made the nomination.
Karl's mobile then rings and Susan tells him that will be COTY for him - and they realise they've nominated each other. Oh, how jovial! What fun and laughter!
Karl takes the call and Donna, who's a bit slow, asks what happened.
DONNA: That is so sweet!
ZEKE: No it's not, it's a disaster. You think it's all happy families now, wait til he gets off the phone.
SUSAN: Don't be so melodramatic! Karl's not going to compete if I've been nominated!
KARL: (ending the call) Oh, I will! Thank you, Elaine! No, no - the honour's all mine!
Zeke makes a face.
ZEKE: (to Susan) Sure about that?
Cut to slightly later where Karl and Susan are toasting each other with tea, over the breakfast table. Donna thinks this is all so lovely.
KARL: It just goes to show what a wonderful person I married. And I would like to just say it's a tribute to you...
SUSAN: (jovial) Oh, darling, you sound as though you're already accepting the award...
KARL: No harm in practising!
SUSAN: (serious) Well you're not really going to accept the nomination, are you?
KARL: Why not?
SUSAN: Because you nominated me.
KARL: You nominated me first.
SUSAN: You're unbelievable.
Karl thinks that this year perhaps isn't Susan's time, and Susan gets riled, as her husband believes she can't win against him.
ZEKE: (to Donna) Run. Now.
Harold's Store
Lucas is enjoying his free lunch from Lou(!) and promises to nominated him that afternoon.
Tim Collins arrived and is pleased that Lyn called. Lyn tries to explain that she needs time to consider their contract, and Tim knows that Toadie's been speaking to her. Tim retorts that if the money is more important than Steph, he understands.
Tim starts to pack up, adding that it's a shame - he found evidence which could get Steph an early release. Lyn wants to know what Tim found, but he's not sharing unless she retains his services and agrees to the contract.
Ramsay Street
Zeke is leaving the house and Karl chases after him. He says he's got Donna on side as his comms manager, but needs a campaign manager. Zeke gets a text from Susan - whatever terms he wants, she'll give. He opts for Susan.
Charlie's
Karl and Donna are having a comms strategy meeting over a large cake that Karl has given Donna as bribery. Lucas and Kate arrive and Karl wants photos from Lucas.
Harold's Store
Susan and Zeke are also having a strategy meeting, and Susan wants to use a grassroots campaign using social networks to gain momentum. Zeke is eating a large cake.
SUSAN: This is a campaign of the people!
ZEKE: So, basically, you're like the Obama of Erinsborough?
SUSAN: Write that down.
Interested, Lou appears, and wants to know what's going on.
Charlie's
Karl wants to recruit Kate and Lucas, but Lucas is fleecing Lou, and Kate wants to be left out of it. They leave. Karl tells Donna that Susan plays tough, and in comes Sophie.
KARL: We're gonna need spies.
Harold's Store
Lou is appalled that Susan has been nominated, so Susan asks Lou to be on her team. Spy Sophie arrives.
SOPHIE: Karl said he'd buy me a milkshake if I came and spied on you.
SUSAN: I'll match that milkshake and I'll raise it a muffin.
SOPHIE: Done.
LOU: A pox on both your houses.
ZEKE: Technically it's only one house, Lou.
LOU: Don't think I'm letting this go. I will be nominated, and I will beat you both.
Ramsay Street
Toadie's packed up the car and they say goodbye. She tells him to have a good holiday, and he reminds her that he'll see her soon. Toadie drives off and Lucas watches, asking Sonya what's going on. Sonya tells Lucas that she can't make the holiday - she has things to do.
She walks back towards the house and picks up her mobile, phones the person who was calling her.
SONYA: Let's talk.
Number 30
Back in the house, Sonya removes the photos of Callum and Toadie. There's a knock on the door. She answers it - it's Jade, her little sister.
In the kitchen, Jade is thrilled to see her sister, and although it's sudden, she really wants to make things better. She wants to fix things up. Sonya is about as unkeen as she could be. Sonya goes to another room and calls Toadie. She leaves a message - something's come up that she has to sort out and she won't be able to make the holiday.
