County court (exterior)
Donna stands looking at the court entrance as both Karl and Paul come up to her, offering conflicting support. The three of them watch on as Steph and Toadie arrive at the court and make their way inside. Karl escorts Donna inside and Sam approaches Paul, please to see him deliver on his promise to get Donna to court. "Just make sure she stays," she demands of him before she too enters the building.

County court (inside)
Lucas and Summer enter the building and head towards Steph while at the other side of the foyer, Declan and Kate join the seated Donna. Kate is surprised to see Donna there and isn't sure she quite agrees with Donna saying that being at court was something she needed to do, but accepts her reasoning (she'd be at home thinking about it otherwise).

One of the court officials gives the signal to let everyone know they can enter the court and immediately the teen trio make their way up the stairs. Steph meanwhile asks for Lucas and Summer not to enter the courtroom because she doesn't want them to hear what is going to be said. Sum isn't happy at Steph's request but they both accept it and Toadie promises to keep them informed.

Courtroom
Steph and Toadie make their way to the front of the court where Sam is eagerly awaiting them. Toadie reassures Steph and in the public gallery, Paul again reminds Donna that she does need to be here.

The judge enters the court and Sam begins the formalities by calling her first witness (Kate). Meanwhile, Donna quietly asks Karl what culpable driving means (knowingly driving under the influence causing death) and confirms to her that if Steph is found guilty she will go to jail.

Kate begins by explaining they'd just left the baker after Ringo had bought the cupcakes, and as they were crossing the road Ringo yelled out. She then describes a motorbike was coming straight for her and that Ringo pushed her out of the way before he was struck by the bike. Sam asks Kate if the accident could have been avoided and she replies no - this is a surprise to Sam (and Karl) because it contradicts the statement she gave to the police, so Kate explains she changed her mind after visiting the accident site. Sam isn't impressed at Kate's late change of mind and pushes her to stick with her original thoughts and thinks she's been influenced, even bringing up the fact that Kate's mum died too to try and push for Kate to change her reply. Kate (and Toadie) isn't impressed with her line of questioning and she earns a rebuke from the judge. On top of that too, Donna walks out of the court, saying she needs air.

County court (exterior)
Karl and Paul rush after Donna to see how she is and the two of them have a mini- squabble over whether Donna stays or goes home. Donna eventually tells them that she needs some time and walks away.

Harold's Store
Callum is enjoying Sonya's treat when Summer and Lucas enter. Sum explains why they are there and turns down Sonya's offer of something to eat, if favour of going for a walk.

Charlie's
Donna is unloading as to why she walked out (she couldn't handle what was being said) to Zeke when they are surprised to see Paul and Sam enter the bar.

As they sit on the sofa, Paul isn't amused at Sam for bringing up Kate's mum. She asks to be left to do her job and he can do his by getting Donna back to court. "I can't keep pushing her" he explains but she whispers to him that he "will find a way" as Donna makes her way over.

Sam leaves them to it and Paul tells Donna that Kate has finished giving evidence and Declan is on the stand next. Donna asks why he was talking to Sam, and he replies that he was giving her a serve for what she did to Kate on the stand. She accepts this then when Paul starts going about why she should return to court she twigs that Sam has put him up to it. "My god it all makes sense" she tells him and after adding a bit more she calls him a liar and that he used her.

DONNA: You're disgusting.

Paul and Sam stare at each other as he follows Donna out of the bar.

Lassiters Complex
"Keep walking" is Zeke's words to Donna as Paul chases after them. He asks if she is happy to see Steph walk free and this gets to Donna, so she stops and turns to tell him directly that she isn't happy about any of this.

DONNA: But you decided what was best for me without even talking to me. I don't want to know you.

And today's trip down memory lane is to 1993 and Doug, Phil and Julie on their bikes.

Harold's Store
Sonya invites Lucas to join her and Callum in popping past to see Summer. She can see he's ticked off but bluntly tells him that if he wants to help Steph, then he should come with them.

Number 26
Callum, Summer and Sonya are pondering what to do for Steph to try and help her get through the stress of the trial. They get another person to help brainstorm ideas when Lucas decides to come over. Cal suggests a massage but Summer has a brainwave of getting Steph a new suit after a remark by Sonya. Sum digs out her laptop and the four of them begin searching.

County court (exterior)
The first day of court is over and Toadie tells Steph that despite Kate's grilling, he thinks it's gone well as they get into the car to head back to Ramsay Street.

Declan is as frustrated about Sam's questioning too as he unloads on Kate while they make their way out of the building. Kate is surprised to see Donna and Zeke waiting for them, and Donna explains she just wanted to make sure they were okay. "We're fine" Kate replies and asks how she is. "I'm alright no thanks to Paul," she replies and Zeke adds in that Paul just wanted Donna there to put Steph off when Declan enquired. They can't believe it and neither can Karl who overheard them after he left the building.

Karl storms over to where Paul is speaking on his iPhone and has a mega go at him, calling him pathetic. "Get over yourself Karl," Paul replies and soon finds himself grabbed by the lapels when Karl takes offence at Paul saying that Donna is part of his family too. Donna (and the other teens) rush over and she tells them to stop it.

DONNA: You're so busy blaming other people you don't even realise what its doing to the rest of us. I hate all this and Ringo would too.
(Donna walks off with the teens following)
ZEKE: (to Karl) Just leave it.
DECLAN: (to Paul) Nice one.

Number 26
The hunt for a suit is on but the guys can't see why the one the ladies choose is any different to the others they've previously looked at! Ouch at the price of it though - $1499.95!!! Lucas surprises them by saying he'll buy it, rejecting Sum's offer of contributing her savings. Sum and Callum head to check what size they should by and Sonya wants to know where he is getting that sort of money from. "Its fine" he reassures her but his huge sigh tells another story as we head into the next commercial break.

Charlie's
Lucas meets up with one of the guys he was in rehab with earlier in the year to sell him some tools to raise the cash for Steph's suit. Billy quizzes him if he really wants to sell the tools, especially after Lucas told him that they are his personal tools and they've been round the world with him. "Some things mean more," he replies but doesn't want to say more when Billy tries to push him, so the two gents get down to doing a deal.

Ramsay Street
The teens are making their way home from court and Donna turns down Kate's invite to come over to her place. Declan heads off to #22 and Karl apologies to Donna for his behaviour. Donna forgives him and as he heads up the path with Zeke, the youngster asks if Susan will be so forgiving! "Susan will back me up" he tells Zeke before we cut over to see Toadie and Steph exiting his car.

Toad asks if he can pop in so they can discuss how tomorrow is going to go and Steph suggests later to allow her a chance to change and relax for a bit.

Meanwhile it looks like war is about to break out on Ramsay Street with Zeke and Karl having an argument on the path at #28 and Declan confronting Paul when he arrives back in the street. "This has got to stop" Donna mutters to herself after witnessing the arguing and Steph dejectedly walking up the stairs to her house.

Number 26
Sum arrives home and Steph apologises for not wanting her in court but she is fine (now) with it. "Didn't you give it to her yet" Callum asks as he, Lucas and Sonya enter the house. Sum explains she was waiting for them and she then hands over the box she has in her hands. Steph is happy stunned at the pressie although surprised that she could afford it - and silently in the background, Lucas shakes to indicate not to say he paid for it, letting Steph believe it was Sum who paid the sale price for it.

STEPH: (to Summer) You mean the world to me, you know that.

Number 30
Everyone (apart from Lucas) pile over from #26 to show off Steph's new court clothes to Toadie. He flatly replies that he likes it before taking Steph into the livingroom (Cal and Sonya head to the kitchen for food) where he tells her that he wants to call Doug to the stand. She doesn't want her depression to come into the case but he feels that the jury needs to know her state of mind prior to the accident and help get them onside.

STEPH: I don't care. Depression doesn't excuse what I did.
TOADIE: No, no but it does put it into context and to omit it from our case is just crazy.
STEPH: I said no Toad.
TOADIE: Why?
STEPH: Because I don't want it to and that should be enough.
TOADIE: You are looking at the possibility of a long term jail sentence.
STEPH: I don't want Doug getting up on the stand and talking about my depression. Is that clear?
(Toadie is finding this hard to accept)
STEPH: Or do I need another lawyer?

(Later)

Final commercial break later and Toadie tells Sonya that he can't believe Steph doesn't want Doug to appear at the trial. "You don't have to understand, you just need to respect her wishes and find another way," she says. Toad tells Sonya that he'll head into the kitchen in a minute (dinner is ready) but she then overhears him calling Doug and confirming from their earlier chats that he will be needed to appear as part of Steph's defence.

"What the hell do you think you are doing" Sonya comes straight out with as she re- enters the livingroom when Toadie ends the call.

Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Steph not amused with Toadie but being asked to trust him.
- Paul questioning Donna wisdom of putting on a street BBQ.
- Donna forcing Paul and Karl to work together - cooking!
- Donna wanting to know what gives between Declan and Kate.
- Kate making her feelings known to Declan - she isn't happy!

And as the titles come up, Lou's name reappears so he must be back this week!
