Woody's House
Woody wants to know when Steph was going to tell him about the baby, but Steph tries to brush his concern aside. While she's getting drinks, Woody sees 'Mum' come up on Steph's mobile. He hands the phone to Steph when she returns, but Steph just presses the reject button and asks if he's happy now. Woody frowns and replies, "Are you?", but Steph ignores him and goes off to chat with their mates.
Number 26
Summer supports Lyn while she leaves a tearful voicemail for Steph, telling her that they're all thinking of her and that she'd really love to hear her voice again. When Lyn hangs up Summer tells her to ring again, but Lyn says she can't keep bombarding Steph. Summer then suggests they ring Toadie but Lyn doesn't want to spoil his "well- earned holiday". Summer says Toadie won't care: if Steph's in trouble he'll want to know.
Woody's House
Woody looks on in concern as Steph laughs and mucks around with everyone.
Cruise Ship
Toadie looks positively ill as he clutches Cardboard Callum and sees the magnitude of the karaoke stage - it's on the top deck of the ship under a giant archway and people are milling around everywhere. Eli runs up to Toadie and Sonya and chuckles about Toadie warming up the old vocal cords.
ELI: We can give it a miss if you like, do something else? They have a circus.
TOADIE: Oh yeah then we can watch you juggle fire on the trapeze.
ELI: Sonya told you I could juggle?
Toadie switches off his phone so he doesn't get distracted while Eli goes over to the stage to prepare himself. Sonya reminds Toadie he doesn't have to compete, but Toadie says he's standing up for all the "average men out there". Eli suddenly bursts into song, and wouldn't you know it, Mr Perfect can croon like no one's business. Toadie looks aghast as the crowd eats up every lyric of 'Girls On The Avenue'. "Is there anything that he can't do?" Toadie sighs.
Number 24
Lucas is helping Sophie and Callum make pizza faces for lunch - Cal's recreating his dad's face with various ingredients and a shredded ham beard for good measure.
CALLUM: I'm totally going to make him one of these when he gets back.
SOPHIE: Yeah so he can eat himself.
CALLUM: ... Oh that's weird.
Lucas answers the door to Lyn, who fills him in on her recent Steph woes. Lucas offers to go around to Woody's place but he's not sure that would make the situation any better. Lyn shrugs and says she really doesn't know what to do.
Cruise Ship
Eli finishes up his song with a megawatt smile and rapturous applause from the audience. He signals for Toadie to come up and tells him to just have fun. Toadie chooses his song and makes a joke about Cardboard Callum which falls flat with the crowd. Downbeat, he faces Cardboard Callum away from the stage so he won't 'feel' embarrassed by his dad. But he needn't have worried - from the very first beat Toadie leaps into an energetic, albeit tuneless, performance of 'Run To Paradise' that the crowd slowly but surely gets into. Sonya screams out for Toadie like a groupie and Eli is left looking dumbstruck that Toadie's strangled cat voice is getting more cheers than his silky smooth vocals. Rockstar Toadie is ecstatic.
Number 24
Lucas is staring at Steph's number on his phone while Sophie and Callum compare pizza faces.
SOPHIE: Toadie was tastier but Karl had more cheese.
CALLUM: Didn't you like yours, Lucas?
LUCAS: No they're great.
SOPHIE: So who's your favourite?
LUCAS: Well as much as I liked the ham and cheese I've got to say the Paul Robinson spicy diablo wins hands down.
Callum shows Lucas the latest pic of his cardboard self with Toadie that Sonya texted him and gets kind of wistful, admitting that he misses his dad. Sophie doesn't understand him getting soppy over a photo but Cal says it's a photo of him and his dad and that means something. Lucas gets his 'I have an idea' face on.
Harold's Store
Lucas shows Lyn some (adorable) photos of Adam that he got Dan to email him and Lyn turns into a happy, weepy mess. As does Summer when she sees her little step- brother for the first time. Lucas thinks that if Steph sees the photos then it might bring her around. Lyn thanks Lucas and holds onto one photo as a keepsake.
Woody's House
Woody isn't happy to see Lucas on his doorstep in the middle of the night and snarkily reminds him that he still owes him a beer. But Lucas says he's not in the mood for Woody's smart mouth - he just wants to see Steph. Woody wants to know what Steph's running away from but Lucas just hands over the photo of Adam and says to pass it on. Woody eyes Lucas up and asks if the baby's his but Lucas says it's his brother's. Handing the pic back, Woody says that Steph took off and he doesn't know where she is. Lucas is back to square one.
Today's nostalgia photo is of Helen and Gerard Singer in 1987.
First Commercial Break
Harold's Store - Next Morning
Lyn and Summer confirm with Lucas that they still haven't heard from Steph. Andrew and Natasha arrive and ask if everything's alright but Lyn has a mini- meltdown and says it's really not. Summer thinks they should call the police but Lucas reminds her that Steph hasn't been missing long enough. He adds that he still can't get through to Toadie or Sonya either.
LUCAS: There is someone we haven't asked. Someone who knows Steph better than anyone.
Lyn looks confused for a moment then realises who he means.
Number 28
Karl, Steph's BFF of course! No, he just answers the door to Lyn, who can't help but cry when she tells Karl and Susan that Steph's disappeared. Susan's saddened to hear that Steph might have post- natal depression and asks why Lyn didn't tell her earlier. But Lyn says they've only just got their friendship back on track and she didn't want to complicate things. Susan hugs her and Lyn tentatively asks if they could have a word with Libby to see if she can think of where Steph might be. The Kennedys look wary but Susan says they'll give it a shot. Karl can't help saying that they can't promise anything, but Lyn just nods.
Cruise Ship
Toadie catches Sonya about to take a pic of the Harbour Bridge on her phone and reminds her they made a pact to switch them off till they're out of range. Some dude tells Toadie to "rock on" and Sonya giggles about him having fans. Toadie grimly wonders what time they have to meet Eli for lunch but Sonya says she thought they'd ditch Eli today and spend some time alone. Toadie beams and stands with Sonya against the railing. He starts to raise his arms into the air and...
SONYA: Hang on, did you bring me up here for a 'king of the world' moment?
TOADIE: You know me too well.
They kiss and some folksy music starts to play in the background a la Titanic (high five, music department!). Sonya smiles and tells Toadie to have his moment. With a huge grin Toadie lifts his arms into the air and does his best Jack Dawson impersonation, "I'm the king of the world!" If the cruise liner crashes into an iceberg Sonya better remember to share her plank of wood with Toadie in the ocean...
Number 28
Karl doesn't think Libby is going to go for the idea but Susan reminds him she's not expecting a reunion between them. Libby returns from her run with Callum and Sophie in tow. Cal shows them all his latest pic from Toadie then the kids head out to show Paul (yes, I'm sure he'll be eager to see that guys...). Susan uses this as an awkward segueway into how nice it is that Libby and Toad are friends again. Libby can tell that something's up so Susan says that Lyn was here earlier about Steph.
LIBBY: Just because I'm talking to Toadie again doesn't mean I'll do the same with Steph.
SUSAN: It's not that.
LIBBY: All Toadie did was try to be loyal. Stupidly loyal as it turned out, but loyal. Steph on the other hand...
SUSAN: She's in trouble.
LIBBY: ... What sort of trouble?
SUSAN: She's missing. She might be depressed and Lyn thought that since you know her so well...
LIBBY: (wry) Oh yeah, I know her really well.
SUSAN: ... That you might know where she's gone.
LIBBY: Don't know, don't care.
Libby heads off to the bathroom for a shower. Susan tells Karl not to start with the 'I told you so' speech - she hasn't finished with Lib yet.
Second Commercial Break
Number 28
Libby sees Susan waiting for her in the kitchen and says an emphatic "no" before Susan can even open her mouth. Susan says that Steph needs help but when Libby replies with a sarcastic "yeah right", Susan gets annoyed.
SUSAN: Do you think this is some kind of stunt that she's pulled? Libby she gave away her baby.
LIBBY: That was her choice.
SUSAN: Well maybe she made that choice for the wrong reasons. Maybe she wasn't in a fit state to make any choices because of how we treated her.
LIBBY: That isn't fair.
SUSAN: I know.
LIBBY: I can't forgive her, mum.
SUSAN: Before you make that decision I think you should read this.
Susan hands over the letter from Steph that Libby thought she tore up, but Susan says it's amazing what a bit of sticky tape can fix. Libby says she doesn't want to read it but Susan says she will one day - and once Libby does Susan will never mention it again.
Harold's Store
Andrew, Natasha and Lyn watch as Summer leaves another desolate message on Steph's voicemail, asking her to please call them. Lucas joins them and says he had no luck with Woody and his mates - no one's heard from Steph. Karl and Susan arrive not long after and tell Lyn that they had a word with Libby about the situation but the ball's in her court now. Karl says he'll call around all of the hospitals again and Lucas and Susan offer to look after the shop while Lyn and Summer wait for news at home. They think to call Toadie again but Lucas says the ship will be out of range by now. Natasha pipes up with her whole one line of the episode to remind them that ships have satellite phones.
Cruise Ship
Sonya looks a bit put out when Toadie takes a call in the ship's reception area and tells Lyn that he'll hop off at the next port and get the first flight back. He hangs up and immediately apologises to Sonya but she quietly says that it's OK; she understands. Toadie says on the bright side she's got Eli to hang out with, but Sonya just shakes her head.
SONYA: I'm not staying on the ship. You just don't get it do you? Eli, he's so good at singing and running and writing and food tasting and everything else because he's so totally focused on himself. You care about the people in your life and that's why I love you.
TOADIE: So Eli's not so perfect then?
SONYA: No. You're going back to look after Steph, right? And her friends and family like you always do.
TOADIE: Absolutely.
SONYA: Well I'm going to be there to look after you.
Toadie pulls her into a big hug. You hang on to that one, Toad.
Number 28
Libby tries to ignore the letter but it's calling her name and after much hesitation she finally picks it up and opens it. We hear Steph's voiceover as Lib reads it.
Dear Libby, I know you're not talking to me and you may never talk to me again...
Libby almost gives up and walks away again, but convinces herself to keep reading.
I hate what I've done to you. I hate what I've done to everyone. I'm so sorry, please don't blame Toadie. If he hadn't come to find me at the motel I don't know what I would have done.
A light bulb goes off over Libby's head and she rushes off to get dressed.
Third Commercial Break
Motel Room
Steph's lying on top of the bed, staring at the ceiling, when she hears a knock at the door. Thinking it's room service she tells them to go away, but when the knocking keeps getting more persistent Steph's forced to get up and answer the door. Nothing can prepare Steph for the shock of seeing Libby on the other side.
Preview
(Tomorrow on Neighbours)
LIBBY: I'm not going anywhere.
STEPH: Well I don't want you here.
LIBBY: Then throw me out.
LYN V/O: Libby's the only one who knows where Steph is and she's gone there to make things worse.
(Donna hands over a present to Ringo)
DONNA: Happy one- month anniversary!
RINGO: I don't have anything for you...
(Ringo goes to Sophie and Kate for advice)
SOPHIE: She said the honeymoon was over.
KATE: Do you really think Donna needs this extra drama?
RINGO: She's going to love what I've got planned, trust me.
(Ringo leaves little presents around the house for Donna)
(Back at the motel, Steph takes off on her motorbike)
LIBBY: STEPH!
(Declan, Kate and Ringo just happen to be on a road near the motel as well)
KATE: You do realise she's going to expect you to top this every single month from now on?
(Ringo sees a motorbike speeding up towards them and pushes Kate out of the way)
(There's a sickening thud... Kate hits the ground... Then Ringo... Then Steph...)
