Previously on Neighbours
- Libby and Lucas sleeping with each other.
- Kate telling Declan there is no more sex on offer.
- Lyn letting rip at the Kennedys.
- Steph reassuring Toadie she did the right thing giving Adam up, even if her actions say otherwise.
Number 26
Steph takes a deep breath before entering the nursery but after entering and seeing it, quickly backs out.
Number 30
Toadie chats to Callum about how he feels about Adam being brought up by Dan and his attitude seems to be that he's okay if the adults are okay with it - he is more enthusiastic about the gold medal he won in the readathon, gloating that Sophie only got silver.
Callum gives Steph a big hug when she enters the house as he passes her on the way to his room. She explains to Sonya and Toadie that she's at a loose end and wonders what they are up to. Sonya explains they are off the store for brekkie, and she is about to leave them to it but is invited to join in the celebration for Callum's gold medal.
Number 24
Kate and Sophie are discussing what Steph did and Lucas butts in to point out that her decision took huge courage adding that letting her son be brought up by his dad is a really generous thing to do and that they should support Steph's decision (and in the background Lou nod's his approval at what Lucas has said). Lou tells the girls after Lucas heads off that Lauren has invited him to join her again and they see no reason why he can't go given Lucas is in the house now. He is also approving of Sophie's plan to help cheer Callum up too (Kate suggests buying some cupcakes) and can see through Kate that she is missing Declan however much she says otherwise.
Harold's Store
Declan is hesitant when he approaches the counter to place an order with Kate and she's not much better either in how to react to him.
Meanwhile Sophie has nipped into the kitchen for the cupcakes and brings them over to the table Callum is at. Sophie doesn't know what to say to Steph either but she swaps places with her to check on where their food is. Toadie reassures Sophie and Callum explains he is having trouble too, so Toadie tells them both to act normal.
CALLUM: But jokey normal or sensitive normal?
TOADIE: Just normal, normal.
Sophie heads off telling Callum to join her later for cakes and Lucas enters the store. He heads straight to the counter where he runs into Steph. Like the others, he's a bit unsure at first on how to act, so gives her an update on Adam after talking to Dan the previous night before asking how she is. "Fine," she replies but when she heads to get a drink from the fridge we can see she is anything but fine.
Garage
Lou surprises Lucas when he enters the garage by lurking in a car - its about to be sold so needs Lucas to do the necessaries, suggesting too it will earn him continued #24 lodging rights! Begrudgingly he agrees to Lou's request for the service and roadworthy as well as buying a bottle of champers too... as long as it isn't above $10!
Harold's Store
Everyone is tucking into their brekkie as Callum shows off the medal to Steph, wondering how much it will fetch on eBay! When she spots the looks from Sonya and Toadie, Steph reassures them that she is fine with what she did and that she just wants to get back to normal like playing pool, thus inviting them to a game later on.
Summer finds Steph at the store - she'd left early so Sum didn't have a chance to see how she was today. Like the others, Sum gets the "I'm fine," from Steph and is roped into joining the 'how to teach Callum to play pool' brigade when she wanted to hang out with Steph.
Charlie's
Callum's pool lesson is in progress when Lucas comes in for more coffee (Lou's surprise caused him to spill his first) and the cheap champers. He bemoans to Sum about working next to and living with Lou however is happy to delay his return to the garage to add his tuppenceworth into Callum's "education".
Number 30
Everyone (bar Lucas) has decamped to #30 to watch a DVD. While the others argue over which DVD to choose, Steph thinks she can hear a crying baby. It really freaks her out, so much so she literally bolts from the place, using a lame excuse as her reasons.
When she gets outside the door, it looks like Steph is almost having a panic attack with the incessant crying as we head into the first commercial break.
And today's trip down memory lane is back to 1993 with Paul Robinson hugging his sister Lucy, version 3!
Number 26
Steph reaches the safety of her own home, joking to Summer that she made the right choice in not going to #30 because the DVD choice was awful hence why she's returned home to hang out with her. They then head out to the store for cakes so that Sum can really fill Steph in on what happened when she was away.
Number 24
Kate and Sophie are surprised to see Lucas making sandwiches for them when they enter but he explains it was Lou's orders! He bails on eating with them though to escape Lou's megaphone and the list of chores he is trying to pan off on him. With Lucas gone, Lou explains himself - it's to see if Lucas is going to be a suitable replacement or not when he is off seeing Lauren. "We can look after ourselves," Kate points out and he explains that yes he knows that but wants reassurance that they have a back up in Lucas now Declan isn't around.
Ramsay Street
Toadie gives Lucas the heads up that Steph left their place upset and that she may need a friendly shoulder. Lucas heads off and Sonya heads over to talk to him. He asks her if he should go and see Steph but she suggests no, suggesting that he needs a break too given what has happened.
Kate and Declan literally run into each other and Declan decides its time to sort things out since bumping into each other (not literally I hope!) is going to be fairly high given they live and work so close to each other. She however decides they've done enough talking and when Declan uses the royal "we", she bluntly points out to him that there is no 'we' and that she wants him to leave her alone.
Harold's Store
It looks like Declan wasn't listening as he follows Kate into the store but she ignores him trying to place an order, instead delivering cake to Summer and Steph's table. Lucas joins them to encourage Steph to each the cake too.
The next customer bypasses their table going straight to counter - Libby. She enquires about Rebecca from Declan before placing her order with Kate. Kate is still ignoring him, and he decides enough is enough and has a go at her for not at least being civil towards him. She retaliates by sarcastically asking if he'd like Candace's number from her then quickly adds he already has that. "Grow up Kate," he tells her before leaving the store. Kate apologises to Libby for the sideshow but she is cool with it.
LIBBY: Messy break ups... we've all been there.
KATE: ...
LIBBY: You know its okay to be alone (looking over to Steph then raising her voice) as long as you're not doing it to get some sympathy.
Lucas is first to react, telling her to leave it, but Steph decides she can do without the hassle and gets up to leave the store however Libby hasn't finished ranting yet.
LIBBY: You guys might be sucked in but I'm not.
Summer decides she's heard enough too and immediately leaves the store and its Lucas who takes Libby to task, telling her that he thought she "was better than this" before he too leaves.
Number 26
Summer is irate at Libby's treatment of Steph in her own mum's store especially as they enter #26. Lucas enters the house too but thankfully for her, its help with the garage books he is after and Steph is happy to have something to do, so readily agrees.
Number 24
Steph and Lucas go over the figures as Sophie plays guitar hero in the background. Lou spots what he is up when he comes over to say hello (and tell Lucas how he likes his ironing done) and guess who is now doing Lou's books too! "Lou's making me earn my keep," he explains to Steph and Sophie calls him a woos for not arguing back. This gets Lucas going and he calls Lou out from the bedrooms to say he doesn't do anyone's undies except his own... and tips the basket of clothes over Lou's head!
LOU: I gave you a roof over your head.
LUCAS: No, the girls gave me a roof over my head; you gave me a pain in the butt.
LOU: If this isn't up in 30 seconds the megaphone's coming out.
"See what I have to put up with," Lucas remarks as he beings picking the washing up!
(Later)
Lou is pleased to see Lucas is working on his laundry and that he's helping Steph too. He suggests to Lucas that he takes Sophie out so he can chat to Steph, which he then does (they're off to see Callum).
Lucas joins Steph on the sofa to watch some classic footy and the game in question is one Lucas went to as a kid. When he goes onto say that he fell out with his dad soon after when he (and Dan) got into bikes but is then quick to say that Dan won't be like that with Adam. Steph is doing her level best to ignore him but as he continues talking, she eventually breaks down and he pulls her into a consoling hug.
Harold's Store
Summer spots Libby sitting at a table and decides its time to go over and say something.
SUMMER: You're our teacher, you're meant to set a good example and I used to respect you but when you treat people the way you just treated Steph... You have no idea what she's going through right now, so just give her a break.
Kate goes over to see if Libby's finished her sandwich and she confesses to her that of late some of the things she says isn't her. Kate so gets it then asks when the right time to move on is. "If I knew the answer to that I would be a very rich woman," she replies. Kate tells her about Declan making her feel so angry.
LIBBY: Well technically we choose to get angry; the other person's not responsible for how we react.
KATE: Mmm, guys and their egos.
LIBBY: Me and my big mouth.
Kate invites Libby to come round to her place to continue their chat and share some lemon tart she has, which she is happy to accept.
Number 24
Steph apologises to Lucas for losing it now she's regained her composure. He offers her his services if she wishes to talk but Steph reassures him that she'll be fine. "You know I'm here for you," he tells her and then he slowly edges his lips towards Steph's and they begin pashing when yes you've guessed it Kate and Libby enter the house. They break it off quickly and although the newcomers don't see the pashing, they can sense that something has happened and as if to confirm it, Steph immediately gets up and silently leaves the house.
