Number 22
Kate apologises profusely to Donna for letting her believe Ringo was back for a reconciliation, but Donna's not mad at her. She's mad at herself for being selfish and forgetting her friend's birthday. From now on it's all about Declan's needs.
The next morning a solemn looking Declan is eating breakfast with Rebecca and Donna when Kate stops by to join them. Donna goes to check on India while Kate and Rebecca try to make plans to keep Declan busy, but he just wants to treat today like a normal day. So normal, in fact, that he's off to do a shift at Lassiter's.
Harold's Store
Sophie sees Declan staring into space and asks Lou if he's OK - she was sad when it was her mum's birthday. But Lou says he'll be fine; he's got plenty of friends. Declan takes his coffee from Lou and is about to head off to work when Rebecca drops in with India. She knows she's interfering but she got someone to cover Declan's shift so he could spend the day with his daughter.
REBECCA: Take her out and tell her about her mum. It's not good to bottle things up.
Thinking things over, Declan nods and takes India from her.
Charlie's Bar
Harry finds Summer looking through Lyn's dating profile - or 'Kitchen Queen' to any potential romantic partners. Harry wonders if Summer's put her in the right age bracket, but Summer says she's proud of her Nan's bravery. Plus, she's getting quite a few hits. Andrew joins them for a bit until he sees Kyle at the bar wearing a tight t- shirt and looks alarmed.
ANDREW: What are you doing?
KYLE: (flexing) Couple of tickets to the gun show, mate! Rebecca's going to love it.
ANDREW: She's not sixteen. You're actually going to have to talk to her and make her laugh. You've got to win her over slowly, this isn't a Manpower audition.
KYLE: Manpower? What, you think they'd hire me?
ANDREW: Can you just focus, please?!
Kyle says it's hard to win Rebecca over when she's not there, and when she is she's too busy looking over the books. Seeing Rebecca walk in, Andrew gets an idea and tells a lie that Kyle is a book- keeping wannabe and would love to learn the ropes. Rebecca's dubious but says Kyle can stay after his shift while she does the books. Kyle's all eager and Rebecca's face contorts into an, "OK weirdo" expression as she walks away. Kyle grins asks for a very Borat- sounding high- five, but Andrew's having none of it.
Harold's Store
Toadie tries to tempt Callum into having a big breakfast with him, but Callum is more interested in playing his DS. Toadie wants to try and have a serious chat but Sophie interrupts and asks if Callum wants to play soccer with her. Callum races out, glad for the distraction.
Lou notices Kate's in a low mood and she says she's worried about Declan because he doesn't want to talk about Bridget. Lou wonders how Kate's feeling about the day. Kate says it's not the same, she was only just getting to know Bridget when she died, but Lou reckons she can try and remember Didge in her own way. Kate's got a right to feel sad too.
Cemetery
Kate places flowers on top of Bridget's grave.
KATE: Hey, Bridget... Do you remember me? I know I didn't know you for very long, but long enough to know how special you were. And I know that you had heaps of other friends. I just wanted to say that I miss you too. I wish we could have spent more time together. And thank you for Declan, he's just so sweet and caring and I'm pretty sure that has a lot to do with you. I'll look after him and India, I promise. Bye Bridget.
She turns around and notices Declan, with India, staring at her. She feels awkward and starts to explain why she's there but Declan just turns and walks away.
First Commercial Break
Cemetery
Kate chases Declan as he heads towards the car to buckle India into her seat. She explains that she liked Bridget and misses her too, and since Declan didn't feel like talking she thought she'd do this instead. Kate wonders if he wants to go for a drive, and he does, just not with her in the car.
Number 24
Harry and Summer are checking out the profiles of men who are interested in Lyn (this is all info- based, no pictures have been uploaded on anyone's profile). Harry reckons Captain Crawford362 sounds OK but Summer thinks he's creepy. Harry asks what a guy has to do to impress Summer. She shrugs and looks slightly embarrassed but then says Andrew has impressed her lately now that he's turned over a new leaf. With impeccable timing, Andrew walks in and finds out they're talking about him. Summer says it's great how he's been helping out Rebecca and Kyle.
SUMMER: You're a really good guy, Andrew, and you pretend you're like your dad but I can see what you're really like.
Andrew has the good grace to look a tiny bit sheepish but covers it with a smile.
Charlie's Bar
Callum finds Toadie, who has started talking like a rapper for some reason to try and sound cool, but Callum thinks he's being an idiot. Toadie then says that after the ANZAC Day footy match on Monday they're going to head into the players' room to get autographs (after he scored some media passes from a mate). Callum isn't as enthusiastic about it as Toadie hoped. Toad attempts to have another D&M with Cal about the baby, but Callum says they don't need to, everything's cool.
TOADIE: If you're worried that things will change then...
CALLUM: Dad, you're having a baby, it's fine. Can we go home?
Callum walks away and Toadie looks worried.
Harold's Store/Road Somewhere
Kate has just finished relaying what happened with Declan to Ringo, Zeke and Donna. She says she's tried calling heaps of times, but thinks one more time won't hurt.
Declan stares at his mobile on the passenger seat but doesn't answer. India starts to grizzle and Declan says in a flat voice that "Daddy's here" and that they'll go home soon. He has a flashback to when he and Kate got together and he said, "You're the best person I know". Declan then has another flashback to his wedding to Didge and hears her say, "I'll always love you". The ringing phone snaps him out of it and he looks down at Kate's picture on the caller ID. Bad move as he completely blanks a Give Way sign and has to swerve to miss hitting an oncoming car. Declan shakily exhales - that was close.
Second Commercial Break
Road Somewhere
Declan steps out of the car to take a breather and contemplate what nearly happened. He hears India and ducks into the back seat to comfort her saying, "Daddy's here" with more feeling this time.
Harold's Store
Declan carries India inside and asks Lou where Kate is, finding her in the kitchen. He says he has a clearer mind now and admits that it was too hard to talk about Didge this morning. Kate still feels bad about him seeing her at the cemetery but Declan says it's OK. He admits he was upset because he wanted to think about Didge, but all he could think about was Kate and didn't think it was appropriate today of all days.
DECLAN: When I was driving around something happened and it made me realise that I'm alive, Indy's alive, you're alive... I will always love Didge, and I'm always going to feel sad on these days, but I'm here with you and I love you.
KATE: I love you too.
Charlie's Bar
Andrew is dismayed to learn that Rebecca has fired Kyle. When they were doing the books she realised that staff costs outweighed profits and she had to let him go. Kyle says Rebecca was really nice about it, but Andrew vows to get him his job back. Andrew confronts Rebecca when Kyle leaves but Rebecca says that Kyle was the newest employee and her policy is "last in, first out". She did offer to give him a really good reference, however.
Later that night, Rebecca, Ringo, Zeke, Donna and Kate have gathered to celebrate Didge's birthday with Declan and India. Ringo says a few words about her, knowing that Didge would hate him making a fuss, but he'd ignore her and tell her she was worth it. Donna looks sad and Zeke pats her on the arm. Ringo brings out a guitar - since he's totally a rock star now - and says he penned a song for Declan and Didge while he was away. They listen while Sam Clark plugs his latest single 'Send Me A Sign'. At the end they all raise their glasses and toast Didge - Declan and Ringo clink theirs last, Declan appreciative of his mate's efforts.
Meanwhile, Harry and Summer are playing darts and bantering about how Summer's hard to please. Summer says that she just wants to find the right guy for her Nan, but Harry reckons her idea of right is actually wrong.
SUMMER: Oh really, and what's my idea?
HARRY: Good looking, a bit vain, overly confident and kind of arrogant.
SUMMER: Why would I like a loser like that?
HARRY: Why do you like Andrew?
SUMMER: What?
HARRY: Well I just described Andrew. If you think he's a loser then why do you like him?
Again, with impeccable timing, Andrew waltzes in to look for Rebecca, finding her delivering some desserts to Declan and co. He wants to talk about Kyle, but Rebecca thinks she's already made herself clear on that matter. Andrew doesn't think she's being fair but Rebecca gruffly replies that it's not the time or the place. Andrew then gets annoyed when she gives Declan his dessert and asks if he wants another drink.
ANDREW: So you're just going to fob me off to pander to him?
REBECCA: Excuse me?
ANDREW: Well I bet you wouldn't sack any of his mates would you?
DECLAN: What?
RINGO: Don't talk to her like that.
REBECCA: Don't worry about it, Ringo, really.
ANDREW: No, I want to join the party, get the same treatment as him.
KATE: Andrew you don't know what you're saying.
Ringo tries to lead Andrew outside but Andrew snatches his arm away and warns Ringo not to touch him.
ANDREW: I want to stay with Golden Boy. So what is it we're celebrating?
DECLAN: (glaring at him) My dead wife's eighteenth birthday.
Andrew's bravado deflates quicker than a balloon.
Third Commercial Break
Charlie's Bar
Rebecca brings Declan a coffee while Kate tells him not to worry about what Andrew said. Over at the dartboard Andrew tells Summer and Harry he had no idea what he was interrupting - no one tells him anything. The trio decide to leave but Andrew gets an attack of the guilts and gives Declan and genuine apology. Declan just tiredly nods but Ringo has a macho attack and tells Andrew to get lost. Harry doesn't think Ringo should butt in, "You just want to go him because of her". Donna looks embarrassed and Declan angrily snaps that he's had enough. Ringo gets up in Andrew's face and says it's time he left, but Andrew just smirks and says to make him. Frustrated, Rebecca tells Andrew, Harry and Summer to leave but Andrew and Ringo are too busy staring each other down in a testosterone battle.

(Tomorrow on Neighbours)
RINGO: Kate if you know what's good for Harry you'll keep him away from Andrew Robinson.
KATE: They're friends.
(Lucas sticks the boot in to Andrew too)
LUCAS: You're a loner because no one likes you.
(Harry has a chat with Summer)
HARRY: I just can't tell if he's being genuine or not.
(And then Andrew)
ANDREW: I'm just digging the whole 'helping people' thing. It's giving me a buzz.
(Ringo is on a paramedic placement & is instructed to get equipment out of the van but he gets nervous and takes too long)
RINGO: I choked. And if I panicked over something like this, what am I going to be like when I actually have to work on someone?
(Well, you're about to find out, dude - Ringo sees Susan crouching next to a girl who's having a fit out the front of Harold's)
SUSAN: We just found her like this.
LOU: Yes I would like an ambulance at the Lassiter's Complex outside of Harold's Store.
