Previously on Neighbours
Donna thinking she's found her dad.
Donna getting a job under a false name at the place where her possible dad owns.
Declan busts Donna as she practices her waitressing skills. She's tries to distract him by getting about his first time with Kate but he's saying nothing.
Kelly turns up for work and Nick and she susses out pieces of info about him as they chat – number one being that he named the pub after his wife but he adds that she doesn't help him run the place.
Nick gives her the lowdown of the about the forms she needs to fill in and wants to see her RSA but after spotting pics of him on the wall in his Bombers day, tries subtly asking him questions about the past but nothing revealing is said before Nick announces its time to start working.
Zeke declares the first meeting of the ‘Blokes Club' open as Declan and Kate are giving each other love sick looks across the store. Lucas overhears that magic words and immediately wants to join in telling them the 4 magic ingredients they require – a couch, a stereo, a fridge and a TV… which he has and it seals his membership of the club!
He then suggests some rules – the first being don't talk about your feelings and the three of them agree with that.
Kate tests their loyalty immediately when she comes over to their table and lets Declan know she has the afternoon off. “He's busy” Lucas replies and when Declan tries to say he isn't, Zeke joins forces with Lucas and reminds Declan that he's going to be busy all day doing bloke stuff.
Declan has a wistful look on his face after Kate leaves and the others think they have just saved him from a shopping trip! Lucas and Zeke are well into the aura of ‘Blokes Club' whist Declan continues stare over at Kate behind the counter.
Nick finishes giving Donna the tour of the bar and he gets her to pour her first beer… and let's just say she's never poured one (or seen one poured by the looks of things) before given it is 100% foam and no beer!
Karl overhears too those magic two works ‘Bloke Club' and immediately wants to join in too. Susan asks Zeke (she's with Karl) if this club is being set up in response to the foam incident and his reply is a sarcastic yes.
Toadie enters the store and wants to join too reminding Zeke and Declan that he's ‘King of the House of Trouser' and immediately wants to be in charge of everything… that is until Lucas walks in and changes his mind about signing up.
Blokes Club HQ
Lucas introduces his fellow members to their base (a posh lock up owned by a mate) and they are all overwhelmed at the facilities. When Karl remarks on how much he's enjoying sitting in a beanbag again that earns him a $2 fine!
Lucas goes to check on the supplies that Declan bought and is surprised to see pink bubble bath there (he bought it for Indy at the same time as their supplies) and that earns Declan a $2 fine!
Donna isn't having the best of times behind the bar, so Nick wants to see how she goes at clearing tables and passes with flying colours as she has a great rapport with the customers.
Nick then reveals that there was another reason he hired Kelly – she has great financial skills apparently, and he wants her to go over the books and find the discrepancy that he can't seem to find. She tries to wriggle out of it but it doesn't work.
And as we head into the first break, today's trip down memory lane is a pic from 2001 from when Stuart Parker signed up to join the army.
Donna is trying to get help from Andrew over the phone but has to end the call when she spots Nick coming over. She does suggest something to him (because she does the same mistake with her own books) which it turns out is important and something he'd overlooked. He enquires about her business but Donna doesn't go into too much detail and thankfully for her it's the end of the shift. Nick asks her back for the evening session and wants to see her RSA.
Declan escapes from ‘Blokes Club' to ask Kate if she'll meet him tonight at Lassiters. She agrees but wants to know what is going on and he explains that yesterday things were rushed and tonight they're going to be slow!
Zeke is unimpressed at the “female” food in the fridge but Declan warns him off touching it as its probably Paul and Rebecca's. Declan subtly mentions that he's going to be popping in and out of the club tonight on the pretence that he can get an early night but thankfully for Declan, Zeke has another important mission – to stop Karl taking his guitar to ‘Blokes Club' after getting a text from him!
Donna returns home and asks him what an RSA is and he explains that it's a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate. She is forced to tell him about her new job when she wanted to borrow his RSA (he refused as it has his name on it).
Declan is a bit puzzled as to how she's handling things but asks what Nick is like. “He's really nice” she replies but thinks she has wrecked everything because of this RSA. Declan urges her to tell the truth to Nick but it looks like Donna is fermenting another plan in her head.
Donna tries to find another role for her in the pub after she forgot to bring the RSA with her but Nick moans that they will be one staff member down and it's the last thing he needs right now. She tries talking to him again and to see if he will open up to her but all it does is create a nice impression of her to him.
Nick then wonders off and two seconds later Donna gets a call on her mobile… from Nick!
Commercial break later Donna listens to the voicemail Nick left on her phone – he's fine if she backed out of the meeting because she was scared, he was too, and that he wants to give meeting each other another go.
Declan arrives smartly dressed for ‘Blokes Club' and draws suspicious from the other guys immediately.
ZEKE: Did you have a shower?
KARL: Are you wearing aftershave?
LUCAS: Did you dress up for the club?
Dec tries to say he's putting in the effort as it's the first night which leads to Lucas calling him “Nancy”! They fine him a total of $10 which gets doubled to $20 when he tries to appeal to say he was just having pride in his appearance. Declan continues to protest and Lucas issues him with a 24 hour ban… until he can ‘man up'!
KARL, LUCAS, ZEKE: (simultaneously) OUT!!!
Declan takes his punishment like a man and as he turns his back on him to exit the club he has a nice big smile on his face.
Declan leads Kate to a room which he's covered in rose petals and candles.
DECLAN: The other night was amazing but I want tonight to be really special.
Kate checks the room out and is very impressed at what Declan's done.
Donna goes to leave a message on Kate's mobile (she wants to know why she isn't answering her phone) then twigs that she's otherwise occupied with Declan and wants goss tomorrow! As she hangs up, she walks straight into Nick!
He explains he came looking for Kelly (she gave Charlie's as a reference) and found out that ‘Kelly' doesn't exist and tells her that he can't abide being lied to and asks if she has a reason. Donna flaps for one but all she can come up with is that his pub looked a nice place and he looked a nice guy and she wanted to be part of that. Nick announces that she can have one more chance because she helped him with his finances and the customers like her too on condition she gets her RSA.
NICK: Any more lies and that's it, no more chances, so if there's anything else that you want to tell me now's the time.
Just as she is deciding whether to say anything or not, Zeke rocks up and after spotting the two of them, says “you did it”. Nick is puzzled about what this means and Donna quickly kisses Zeke and introduces him to her boss and her boss to her boyfriend.
Whilst Nick is at the bar, Donna apologises to Zeke over how she introduced him. He wants them to tell Nick the truth and he will if she won't.
Nick returns with the drinks and invites her to attend a staff breakfast tomorrow morning to meet the other staff. He invites Zeke along too and jokes that he wants to see if she's hiding anything else from him!
