Lassiter's Complex
Donna is treating the letter posting with reverence, attempting to recite a poem she loved from her youth, but Zeke just thinks she's being weird. Donna finally mails the letters and Zeke says they'll support her no matter what happens.

Toadie is walking Rocky when they both see Sonya. Rocky bolts over to her, giving Toadie and Sonya the opportunity to chat. Toadie stammers that he heard Sonya was seeing someone, but Sonya replies that she's not. They realise that Rocky has done another runner and walk around the park calling his name until they find him. Lucas sees them smiling and laughing together and is intrigued.

Garage
Lucas smugly informs Steph that he saw Toadie and Sonya looking "very friendly" down by the lake. Steph gets annoyed with him and says it's possible for people to remain friends after they break up - it's a shame they couldn't do the same.

STEPH: Say what you want about us but just leave Sonya out of it. She doesn't need you stirring things up again.
LUCAS: Of course, you don't want to see Sonya get hurt.
STEPH: No I don't.
LUCAS: It didn't seem to worry you when you stole her boyfriend. Just like it didn't seem to worry Toadie when he stole you from me.

Number 22
Andrew leaves a message on Paul's phone and says he knows he stuffed up but he wants to make amends. Looking at a framed photo of them laughing, he adds that he wants to be a proper son; he just needs one more chance. Zeke and Donna arrive home for a coffee but Zeke backs out when Andrew asks her to make him one too. Realising Paul's not the only one he needs to try harder with, Andrew offers to take over coffee making duties.

Number 28
Susan's sorting through her and Karl's golf club sets, ready for their 'friendly' game tomorrow, when she realises half her clubs are rusted. Zeke smirks when she swaps the dodgy ones with Karl's newer clubs. He jokes that he should get some bribe money to keep quiet, so Susan parts with a fiver, but Zeke's not done.

ZEKE: [holding up the milk] Hey while you're up could you get me a glass as well?
SUSAN: [narrowing her eyes] Ezekiel Kinski, you are a disgrace.

Garage
Steph is using a tyre jack when she accidentally slips and knocks herself against the car. She clutches her stomach in pain and tries to creep into the garage without Lucas noticing. He eventually comes in to see what she's up to but she tells him to get on with his work.

Harold's Store
Toadie and Sonya are having OJs together when he notices she's still wearing the bracelet he gave her when they were dating. Sonya sheepishly says she's not quite ready to take it off yet. They're having a nice, civil chat with one another when Toadie's phone beeps. It's a message from Steph: COME GET ME. URGENT. Sonya asks if everything's OK. For a split second Toadie sounds as though he's going to lie about who it's from, but then confesses it's Steph and that he has to go. When Toadie leaves Sonya kicks herself for letting her guard down.

Garage
Steph checks her phone but there's no response from Toadie. Lucas realises that Steph isn't in a good way and starts to help her when Toadie suddenly zooms in and takes over. They both help Steph to the car so she can go to the hospital.

LUCAS: [to Steph] Give me a call and let me know you're OK.
TOADIE: I'll take it from here. I think you've done enough today.
LUCAS: Hey, I've been here looking after her while she's been waiting for you, Prince Charming. Guess you were a little bit busy down by the lake with Sonya.

Toadie looks annoyed and hops into the car with Steph.

First Commercial Break

Erinsborough Hospital
Steph's worried about bumping into Karl but Toadie says that it's his day off. She then wonders if Lucas knows the truth, but Toadie doesn't think so. Dr Harris appears and leads Steph into a room just as Karl walks around the corner (he's covering for Dr Newton). Toadie freaks and pretends he's there for a check- up. Karl offers to take a look at him, which suits Toadie well - anything to keep him from seeing Steph.

Dr Harris makes sure Steph is settled on the bed and says he'll be back in a tick.

In Toadie's room, Karl says he should make an appointment for a full exam, but Toadie reckons Karl could just do everything now. Going along with it, Karl tells Toadie to head to the bathroom so he can get undressed and put on a gown.

KARL: I'll give you some space to do that.
TOADIE: [panicking] No, no, no. Um, I'm really quick at taking my clothes off. [Gets an 'I can't believe I'm doing this' look on his face] Just stay.
KARL: ... OK.

Karl shuts the blinds and Toadie tells himself to breathe. In Steph's room, she rubs her belly and tells herself the same thing.

Once Toadie is all gowned up, Karl places a container in Toadie's hands and says he needs a urine sample. Toadie is uneasy about making the trek to the bathroom.

TOADIE: What are you going to do while I'm gone?
KARL: ... I'll miss you terribly but I think I'll be OK.

Stalling, Toadie asks if they can do the other tests first because he really doesn't need to pee just yet. Karl gives him a weird look but concedes and says he'll take blood instead. Toadie's, like, super thrilled.

Number 22
Andrew brings Donna some lunch but Donna's suspicious - two coffees and now a sandwich, what's up? Andrew says it's his way of saying sorry. It's not just Paul who deserves better, there are heaps of others and she's top of the list. Donna accepts his apology and says she's glad he's staying.

ANDREW: Great. I reckon you're the only one, though. I could do with you convincing some other people.
DONNA: I can't believe I fell for it again.
ANDREW: What?
DONNA: You're not sorry. You just want my help sucking up to everyone.
ANDREW: No that's not how it is.
DONNA: Don't bother, Andrew. I've got your number and it's a big fat zero.

Andrew sighs. He can't even get things right when he's being sincere.

Charlie's Bar
Lucas joins Sonya at a table. She says she got his phone messages but she doesn't want to give Toadie trouble. Lucas says that whatever happens with Toadie he wants he and Sonya to stay mates - after all, she is his sponsor. Sonya admits that she's going to find someone else for his GA meetings, it's just getting too messy.

SONYA: [twisting around her bracelet] No more games, Lucas.
LUCAS: You want me to find a new sponsor, that's cool, I understand. But maybe you don't need to.
SONYA: I don't understand.
LUCAS: I just think things would be a lot better around here if everyone started telling the truth. You deserve that.

Second Commercial Break

Erinsborough Hospital - Steph's Room
A nurse is prepping Steph for an ultrasound when Toadie joins them. Steph's happy to report that her pain was nothing too serious, just her uterus pushing on her bladder. She asks if he wants to stay for the ultrasound and he says he'd love to.

STEPH: I asked the nurse to find you ages ago.
TOADIE: Turns out that Karl is here and I had to distract him.
STEPH: He didn't see me did he?
TOADIE: He didn't see you... He saw a whole lot of me.

Dr Harris returns to talk them through the ultrasound and says that the heartbeat is strong. Steph and Toadie look in awe at the screen. He asks if they want to know the sex and Steph says yes.

DR HARRIS: It's still a little early so we can't be completely sure, but it looks like a boy.
STEPH: [beaming at Toadie] A boy.

Dr Harris and the nurse give them some time alone. Toadie holds Steph's hand and they grin at one another. Steph thanks him for being there for her, but Toadie says he made a promise and he's sticking to it.

STEPH: You're the best person I know, Jarrod Rebecchi.
TOADIE: Stop it, you're going to make me cry.

They smile and take another look at the baby's image on screen.

Number 22
Donna makes a scrapbook while Andrew's on the phone, trying to score a job at Harold's through Jumilla. He's desperate for money but there's nothing going. When he hangs up Donna says he can't buy his way back into Paul's good books, but Andrew says it's a start.

ANDREW: You're wrong about me and I want to prove it to you.
DONNA: Yeah good luck with that.

He asks who the scrapbook's for and Donna says she's putting it together to show her dad when she finds him.

DONNA: My whole life in pictures... Feels a bit empty, though.
ANDREW: You need the stories to go with them. Tell him those in person, everything he missed.
DONNA: [affords him a small smile] You know, I was upset because the dad I had turned out not to be my real dad. But not to have even a fake dad must've been tough.
ANDREW: I tried to be the best at everything I did. I thought if I got a trophy or a picture in the paper he might see it and come find me. Didn't exactly work. I had to find him, and that's turned out to be a real success hasn't it. I hope the stuff with your dad goes better than it did with mine.

Donna gives him a thoughtful look as he walks upstairs.

Number 30
Toadie asks if Steph's OK but she says it's lucky that she's as tough as old boots - and that Lucas believed her story about having gastro. Talk turns to the pregnancy plan. They agree to keep quiet about the baby until they've been together twelve weeks and then fudge the conception dates. Steph gives him a big hug before she heads off to bed. Toadie looks at the ultrasound DVD they got from the hospital and can't help smiling, "A little boy, huh..." There's a knock at the door and he quickly shoves the DVD on top of a shelf before answering. He's surprised to see Sonya.

SONYA: I've been talking to Lucas. Is it true?

Third Commercial Break

Number 30
Toadie's trying not to get upset while Sonya tearfully asks if he still loves her without actually saying the words.

SONYA: If you've made a mistake or if you've changed your mind just tell me. It doesn't matter what's happened and what's been said, we can work it out. Jarrod, please... [She holds his face in her hands] Just be honest with me.

Toadie gazes into her eyes but slowly takes her hands away, knowing he can't allow himself to give in.

TOADIE: Just go. Please, just go.

Sonya walks out, crying, while Toadie tries not to break down himself.

(Karl and Susan are battling it out on the golf course)
KARL: Susan, golf is a game of skill and strategy.
SUSAN: Care to make it interesting? If you lose you have to give me those ridiculous things hanging off the end of your nose.
(Karl peers down his glasses at her in slight horror)
(Declan and Kate hang out)
DECLAN: I was thinking maybe we could turn off the TV.
(They start kissing)
(Steph and Toadie talk about the ultrasound DVD)
STEPH: Can you imagine what's going to happen if someone finds this?
TOADIE: Yeah.
(Callum tells Sophie about a fight he overheard)
SOPHIE: So they're fighting over what DVD they want to watch?
CALLUM: So if we get rid of the DVD, problem solved.
(Callum takes the DVD out of Toadie's bedroom drawer)
STEPH: This is all getting really, really hard.
(Toadie discovers something's amiss with the DVD case)
TOADIE: Oh no!
