- Andrew asking Harry for help with Summer
- Kate's confusion over the ‘girlfriend' label
- Karl uncomfortable with Mia hanging around
- Donna noticing Mia talking to Detective Skinner
- Mia telling Donna to butt out of her business
Kate's getting ready for a date with Declan but is fretting about her dress being too short. Summer and Andrew drop in to collect Harry for a gig at Charlie's, just as Declan arrives and compliments Kate on her outfit. Feeling uncomfortable, Kate's about to change when Donna stops by to ask them advice on her Mia/Skinner dilemma.
Susan voices her concerns about Mia to Zeke, who isn't impressed.
Declan thinks Donna should say something to Zeke, but Kate thinks she should find out more about the situation before bustling in. Donna knows she's only just got Zeke back as a friend so she decides to keep her mouth shut.
Susan suggests that Zeke put his relationship with Mia on hold for a few months so he can focus on uni and decide if they're really meant to be together. Meanwhile, Karl is sweating up a storm and looks like he's having some chest pain. Ben alerts the family and Susan decides that Karl needs to go to the hospital. Zeke looks guilty.
Hospital - Karl‘s Room
Doctor Harris and Nurse Jodie check on Karl, who takes immediate umbrage at being called ‘Mr Kennedy' instead of ‘Doctor'. Karl's convinced that it's just indigestion, but Dr Harris thinks it could be angina and wants to run some tests. Karl clearly doesn't like another doctor telling him what to do, and neither does Dr Harris who grumbles, “You could have warned me he was a doctor” to Jodie on the way out.
Mia's looking at a map of Eden Hills Pharmaceutical Testing Facility on her laptop but hides it when Donna walks in. Donna hangs up from Zeke and tells Mia about Karl's trip to hospital. Mia doesn't think she'd be welcome at the hospital but Donna knows Zeke would be grateful for Mia's support.
Hospital - Waiting Area
Susan, Zeke, Libby, Ben and Toadie are all hanging out for Karl's test results. Ben starts to worry too much about Karl so Libby decides to take him home. Zeke's happy when Mia arrives with Donna, but Susan isn't pleased to see her. Susan not so subtly hints that it should be family only, but Zeke points out that Toadie and Donna aren't technically family so Mia can stay too.
Summer and Harry bop along to musical guest Ben Lee. Donna checks in with Declan and Kate and updates them on Karl - she's also glad she didn't blab about Mia because she's being really supportive of Zeke. Andrew brings some drinks back for Summer and Harry. Summer's pleased Andrew knows what drink she likes, but that's all due to Harry's detective skills. Declan tells Kate she looks hot, but Kate's still feeling uncomfortable and runs away to get a drink. Ben Lee encourages Erinsborough to sing along and sing they do. He's also wearing a stripy top that makes him look like a mime artist. I hope he does ‘trapped in a box' next.
Hospital - Karl's Room
Karl asks Jodie about his test results but she says Dr Harris is dealing with them as fast as he can. Karl gets annoyed and Mia says it's ridiculous how long he's been waiting. She heads out to see if she can find Dr Harris with Zeke tagging along behind her. Susan wonders if she's been too harsh with Mia and Karl says that she has been very supportive today.
KARL: Maybe that answers one of the big questions.
SUSAN: Is she just going to use him again?
KARL: It's a lot of effort to go to for someone you're just stringing along.
Hospital - Waiting Area
Mia and Zeke find Dr Harris at the nurses station and ask about Karl's results, but Dr Harris says he's the only attending physician on tonight and they'll have to wait. Some random extra snarks that there's no use asking for help - she's already been there for hours. Zeke thanks Mia for trying and thinks it's great that everyone's finally getting along. Mia smiles and says she has an idea.
Hospital - Karl's Room
Mia tells Zeke, Karl, Susan and Toadie that they should do an expose on the hospital via PirateNet. The community needs to know how understaffed the place is. Susan wonders if Karl should take the medical board on after the whole surrogacy ordeal, but Karl says he has no choice. The hospital wasn't like this back in his day. Toadie takes Susan aside and wonders if Karl should be getting so excitable but Susan thinks that giving him a focus is probably a good idea and admits that Mia's a clever girl. Zeke puts in a call to PirateNet while Mia answers her mobile out in the hall - it's Skinner, but she gives him the brush off. Zeke tells Karl he'll be on the air ASAP just as Dr Harris arrives to do a check- up.
DR HARRIS: Sorry to keep you waiting, I got delayed in the labour ward.
KARL: (playing nice) No problems, these things happen don't they.
DR HARRIS: (bemused) I see the meds have kicked in.
The doc tells Karl that the tests indicate his heart could be involved due to his previous heart attack but he wants to order a few more tests to rule it out. The bedside phone rings and Zeke sets up the call.
Declan watches Harry, Summer and Andrew dancing around together and thinks it's wrong that the person with the best dancing skills isn't out on the floor. But Kate is still in wallflower mode so Donna and Declan head out for a boogie instead.
Hospital - Karl's Room
Susan, Toadie and Mia listen in while Zeke and Karl chat on speakerphone about how the hospital has gone downhill lately. Karl says the board has lost its way and he doesn't approve of all the staff cuts. Said staff just so happen to be listening to the broadcast out at the nurses station - including Dr Harris, who storms into Karl's room and ends the call.
DR HARRIS: Do that again and I'll have it disconnected. You're making my job harder than it already is.
Kate's still moping at her table while Declan and Donna dance. Harry also finds himself shut out when Andrew blocks him to dance with Summer. A slow song starts up and Declan manages to convince Kate to hit the floor with him. They see a couple pashing and Declan quips that they should get a room. Kate suddenly gets awkward and says she has to go.
Hospital - Karl's Room
Susan tells Karl that Jodie and the rest of the staff heard the PirateNet call. Karl hopes he didn't offend Jodie, but Susan says Jodie was impressed. Dr Harris returns to tell them he's ruled out a heart attack and he and Karl get back into their indigestion vs. angina bickering. Dr Harris wants to keep him in overnight for observation but Karl's had enough and says that he's going home.
Declan finds Kate sitting by herself and she eventually confesses that she feels uncomfortable being called ‘hot' because she doesn't think she is. Declan says it was a compliment and that he wasn't expecting anything in return. Kate knows she's being silly but she doesn't quite know how to act in a relationship.
DECLAN: You know what you're doing wrong?
DECLAN: No. You're overthinking. It's the worst mistake you could make. The more rational I try to become about the situation, the wronger I am.
KATE: (smiling) The wronger?
DECLAN: Yes, the wronger. Just go with what you feel.
Picking up where they left off, they start to slow dance around the shop.
Lassiter's Complex - Next Morning
Skinner sits down at Mia's table and says he's been trying to get in touch with her. He asks if she's suffering a crisis of conscience. Mia says that Zeke and his family are good people and she can't do it to them, but Skinner reminds her she promised him a name. So unless she wants that name to be hers he suggests she get to work. Zeke arrives just in time to see Skinner walk away. He asks if Skinner was hassling Mia but she claims not to have seen the detective.
Andrew thinks it's a shame they had a curfew last night, he was having fun. Summer says they were lucky to go out at all considering it was a school night. When she walks away Andrew's smile fades and he turns to Harry.
ANDREW: I need your help, I'm running out of material.
HARRY: Well just talk slower.
ANDREW: I need a lead.
HARRY: Note to self, channel Summer 24/7.
Donna finds Zeke at the counter and asks about Karl. She's also pleased to hear that Mia and his family are getting along a lot better now.
DONNA: Thank God, for once I made the right call. I didn't know whether I should have said something to you about her and Detective Skinner talking and...
ZEKE: Skinner? When?
DONNA: Yesterday. I mean at the time I thought it was a little bit suss, I admit, but I'm glad I didn't make a big deal.
ZEKE: Are you sure it was him?
DONNA: Yeah they were outside Charlie's.
Zeke looks perturbed.
Number 28 - Zeke's Bedroom
Mia is putting something from her USB onto Zeke's laptop, but when he springs her she claims she was just putting a photo of the two of them on there as his wallpaper. Zeke pretends to buy this story but when they hug, Mia looks guilty and Zeke looks suss.
[Tomorrow on Neighbours]
(Zeke finds something suss on his laptop)
ZEKE: My computer... There were some files on there.
MIA: What kind of files?
ZEKE: Well I don't know, they were corrupt. Did you put them on there?
(Karl has another argument with Dr Harris at the hospital)
KARL: You are abrupt, you are arrogant. When I was a doctor here we took pride in our work.
DR HARRIS: I've scheduled the gastroscopy.
KARL: Right, do you have anyone to do it?
DR HARRIS: Me. This way.
(Karl seeks legal advice from Toadie)
KARL: How would I go about mounting a class action against the hospital?
TOADIE: Are you serious?
(Toadie also can't believe Steph's heading back to work)
TOADIE: Are you going back to the garage?
STEPH: I have to. I can handle him.
(Steph watches Lucas while he works)
LUCAS V/O: I'm gonna get her back.
