Number 24
Kate wanders out into the kitchen in the morning with a dreamy smile on her face.

Number 22
Donna calls out to Declan, who is also away with the fairies, asking where India is. Declan replies that Rebecca took her to the zoo for the day. Donna then asks if he's feeling OK because he's acting a little weird.

Number 24
Harry is amused to find Kate eating birthday cake for breakfast. Kate gets a phone call from Roz who says she'll be around at eleven.

Number 22
Declan chirpily offers cereal to Andrew, who is confused by his goodwill (as is Donna). But Andrew is heading over to #22 to help Harry clean up the garden before the DHS arrive. Declan wonders if he should call Kate and see if she wants more help but Donna thinks she'll be in a cleaning frenzy and won't want to be disturbed.

Number 26
Libby is having breakfast with the #26 crew, but Steph declines pancakes from Summer, disguising her queasy stomach by pretending she's detoxing. Lyn comes up with the idea of a family lunch to celebrate Steph and Toadie getting back together. Steph baulks and claims Toadie's busy, but when Toadie pops around he puts his foot in it and says lunch would be fantastic.

Harold's Store
Kate asks Lyn (who is gathering lunch supplies) for a letter of employment to show the DHS. Donna pops in and eventually gets the goss from Kate that Declan kissed her, which elicits delighted girly squeals from both Donna and Lyn! When she finds out Declan hasn't organised another date, Donna quickly rushes out to set him straight. Kate leaves not long after but forgets her letter from Lyn.

Charlie's Bar
Donna bails up Declan and practically shoves a phone in his hands so he can call Kate. He rings #22 but Sophie answers so he leaves a message.

DECLAN: Tell her I'm sorry I didn't call but I got confused. And last night was... [he smiles] fun, and I can't wait to see her again.

Ramsay Street
Summer is sitting out the front of #26 reading while Harry and Andrew pretend to garden whilst perving on her. Kate awkwardly asks her brother for advice on if she should call Declan or not, but both decide that the topic is too weird to broach. Meanwhile Andrew has sauntered over to chat to Summer, much to Harry's disappointment.

Number 24
Kate is concerned with why Declan hasn't called yet but gets her answer when Sophie says that he left a message earlier.

SOPHIE: He said he had fun but that he's confused and he's sorry.

This makes Kate super annoyed and she silently rants and raves in her head about how much of a jerk Declan is until Harry runs in to tell her Roz has arrived.

Number 24
Sophie and Harry tell Roz how well they're doing at school. Kate gets up to show her letter from Lyn to Roz but panics when she realises it's back at the store. Harry volunteers to run down and get it. Sophie tries to talk Kate up to Roz and say how responsible she is but Roz smiles and says it's OK for them to have fun too.

SOPHIE: We do! Harry's got basketball, I'm in the Twilight Club and Kate's got a new boyfriend.
KATE: (alarmed) Soph! He's not my boyfriend.
SOPHIE: You were kissing him. I saw you! I came in to get a glass of water and you were smooching him on the couch.

Kate tries to explain herself to Roz, and claims that it was nothing, she's not even with him, blah blah, but Roz is like, 'Chill out, it's fine'.

Lassiter's Complex
Declan's sitting with Zeke out the front of Harold's, pondering things.

DECLAN: Have you ever been in love?
ZEKE: Are you a girl?

Declan says he's serious, so Zeke says he has, a few times in fact. This interests Declan - he thought a person could only fall in love once. Great. The L word already. Donna stops by, which is Zeke's cue to leave, much to Donna's disappointment. She asks Declan if he's been to see Kate yet but Declan's waiting until the DHS interview is over.

Lyn clears Summer's table just as Harry stops by and says a bashful hello to Summer on his way into the store. Lyn reckons Summer should invite Harry to lunch but Summer doesn't seem too keen on the idea.

Harold's Store
Harry collects Kate's letter but is stopped by Lyn on the way out, who invites him to lunch with Summer. Harry says he'd love to but they've got the whole DHS thing, which is Andrew's chance to swoop in and say he'd be delighted to take Harry's place. Irked, Harry then says he could try and do both, but Andrew "helpfully" reminds him that the DHS is way more important.

Number 24
Harry and Sophie look concerned when Kate spaces out on Roz because she's too busy thinking angry thoughts about Declan. Roz says she only has a few more questions to go before she makes her decision.

Number 30
Steph gets off the phone with Elle and is annoyed because she won't let her out of the contract at the garage. She's stuck working with Lucas. Wonder how that conversation went down with Elle! Steph and Toadie's focus then turns to the lunch they're dreading. Toadie wonders if he should wear a tie but Steph thinks that's OTT (especially since she's wearing a singlet top and jeans).

STEPH: It's just going to look like you're trying too hard. Just wear your normal clothes.
TOADIE: Actually, um, you should get changed though.
STEPH: Why?
TOADIE: (awkward) You're looking bigger... Up top.
STEPH: (horrified) Oh!
TOADIE: Not that there's anything wrong with being bigger up top.
STEPH: Toad!
TOADIE: Sorry, actually that felt really weird saying that.

Steph quickly puts a jacket on. They worry about not looking convincing so they practice standing arm- in- arm, but just look unco. They then try a kiss but just end up with their lips pressed together, bodies miles apart and arms hanging lifelessly by their sides. Sexy. Callum sees them and looks grossed out, so at least they're convincing someone.

Number 26
Lyn, Steph, Toadie, Callum, Libby, Summer, Andrew and Charlie are all sharing a nice meal together. It's totally not awkward at all! Steph puts on a show of feeding Toadie some of her salad, and they have a little smooch.

CALLUM: Guys we're trying to eat.
STEPH: Sorry.
TOADIE: Sorry, ever since we've got back together Steph can't keep her hands off me!

We've had the entree of awkward, why not the main and the dessert, ay! Andrew (wearing a tie - LOL) thanks Lyn for the delicious lunch, but Summer smirks and calls him a suck- up. Lyn wants Steph to at least try the lasagne but Toadie rolls his eyes and says she's on some silly diet. Lyn says she thought it was a detox but Steph quickly replies it's both, which makes Lyn very suss.

Number 24
Declan and Zeke pop over to hear the verdict but Kate gives Declan the cold shoulder while Harry and Sophie tell him Roz is in the hallway talking to her boss. Roz soon reappears and happily says that Kate is now the official guardian of Sophie and Harry. Sophie dances around with her brother before rushing off to call Lou with the news. Roz leaves and Declan tries to chat to Kate, but she just snaps at him for nearly ruining her chance of guardianship. Kate storms out, Declan's confused and Zeke barks at him to chase after her.

Ramsay Street
Declan runs towards Kate and finds out that she got the wrong idea from Sophie's mixed message, hence her snappy mood. He explains that he had fun and wants to hang out with her again some time. Kate smiles and they kiss.

Number 26
Toadie and Steph take a breather on the front porch.

STEPH: This isn't working. We don't look happy we look like weirdos.
TOADIE: We're doing fine, OK... Well maybe we do look a little weird.

Inside, Lyn asks Libby if she thinks the "happy" couple are acting strangely, but Libby thinks they might just be self- conscious. Lyn goes into the lounge and makes conversation with Andrew about what's going on at #22. Andrew reveals that Lucas's court case is tomorrow (for his bike accident), which gains Steph and Libby's interest. Lyn takes Steph aside in the kitchen for a WTH? chat - she's never been a clingy kind of girl, and not one that goes on diets either.

STEPH: Well I just, y'know, I...
LYN: Look you don't have to explain, I think I know.
[Steph looks worried]
LYN: It's because last time 'round you two weren't any great shakes in the passion department and now you're trying to reassure him. Am I right?
STEPH: (breathes a sigh of relief) Yeah.

Lyn gives her daughter a hug and reminds her she doesn't have to change for anybody. Everyone then piles into the kitchen to toast the happy couple.

Number 26
Steph and Toadie collapse on the couch and quietly celebrate getting through lunch. Andrew helps Summer clear dishes in the kitchen. She's surprised to learn he didn't have servants and things growing up - it was just him and his mum and they shared the cooking and cleaning. Libby reappears after chatting to Lucas. Toadie and Steph are concerned when she tells them he's not letting anyone represent him in court tomorrow. She heads back out and Steph says this mess is all her fault.

STEPH: He doesn't care about anything anymore.
TOADIE: So how is that your fault?
STEPH: Because I broke his heart. He could go to jail and it's all because of me.

[Tomorrow on Neighbours]
(Declan saunters into HS dressed like a cowboy)
DECLAN: Ain't nobody goin' nowhere.
(He shows Kate a gift bag)
DECLAN: So what do you say? First day of the rest of your life?
KATE: (peering into the bag) How did you know!
(Toadie counsels Steph about Lucas)
TOADIE: He'll deal with losing you however he does. There comes a point where you've got to let go.
(Libby wants to support Lucas but he's not making it easy for her)
LUCAS: Do you really think helping me is going to fix your train wreck of a life? You pushed Dan away, deal with that.
(Lucas in the court room)
JUDGE: These are very serious offences, Mr Fitzgerald.
LUCAS: I did the wrong thing and I accept full responsibility.
(Libby tries to get through to Lucas)
LIBBY: You're just going to throw your life away?
LUCAS: She finally gets it.
