Saffron shouting at all her employees
Donna quitting and Saffron hitting her and saying that she'll never amount to anything.
Airport?
The scenery behind them looks like Lassiter's but I'm a bit confused as to where they are actually meant to be! Anyway, Lucas welcomes Elle home and wants to hear all her travel stories but Elle insists that there's not much to say.
Number 22
Donna ignores a call from Saffron.
Rebecca puts back a sculpture that she moved in Elle's absence. Paul tells her that it's her house too - she doesn't have to put it back. In walks Elle (and Lucas) and Paul and Rebecca hug her. Elle comments on Donna, who she says looks unwell. Donna says she isn't feeling to good and goes to lie down. Paul informs Elle that the internship ended badly. Elle says she'll go and talk to Donna later.
Rebecca wants to hear all Elle's stories but she insists there's nothing to tell - she ate, she shopped and she saw some shows.
REBECCA: Oh goodness me, why did you come back here?!
ELLE: Well, there's no place like home.
Her and Lucas kiss.
Donna's Room
Elle has come to talk to Donna, who looks very upset and down. Elle asks her what happened with the fashion career and Saffron and Donna simply replies that she decided to give it up as she's not cut out for it, and she wants to finish school. Elle agrees that that's the smart thing to do, but she doesn't think that Donna should give up on her dreams just yet. Elle presents Donna with a present, which Donna thanks her for. However, she's going to get some sleep now, and Elle promises to chat to her later.
Harold's Store
Elle tells Lucas she's picked Donna up some cold and flu tablet - if that's what's really wrong. Elle looks at her credit card bill - which is a lot! Lucas thinks she must have had a good time if she spent *that* much ($38,000 ish is what's on the screen!). Elle replies that she missed him and Lucas offers to teach her some things about saving - as his debts are under control. All it takes is some discipline. Elle doesn't like the sound of that.
Number 22
Paul presents Rebecca with some house details. He wants her to be able to call a house hers and be settled. Rebecca says she is - it's just a sculpture. They both agree that it'd be nice to have a place of their own, but now that the enemy has been taken care of, there's nothing wrong with Erinsborough.
There's a knock at the door. Rebecca answers it and Donna comes down to get some water. Rebecca remarks at the beautiful flowers for Donna, from Saffron! Donna looks unimpressed and when Rebecca suggests putting them in water (and that Saffron must think a lot of Donna), Donna takes them from her and dumps them in the bin, leaving Rebecca and Paul looking confused!
Harold's Store
Lucas is teaching Elle about shopping and budgeting. Toadie asks Elle how she got on and Elle again evades the question. Lucas is looking forward to showing Elle what he can do with their budget shopping.
Number 22
Paul is still looking online at houses. India cries through the monitor and Rebecca goes to sort her out. In walk Lucas and Elle, Lucas goes to find some fresh herbs. Paul questions Elle on New York and she's reluctant to talk about it but the opens up about how much she loved it - everything felt right and everyone liked her and she got offered the job full-time with a sponsorship. Paul is over the moon but Elle explains she can't take it - she missed Lucas too much. Paul can't believe she'd want to stay in Erinsborough when she could "have the world".
Lucas returns with some herbs and promises to make her the best cheap risotto ever. He leaves with his ingredients.
PAUL: And you're going to give up everything for him?
ELLE: Isn't that what love is all about?
Paul doesn't think it is if she wakes up one day and regrets it.
Donna's Room
Donna is tearing down her drawings of dresses. Rebecca comes in with chicken soup - it cures everything. Donna declines as she's not hungry.
REBECCA: Oh look, I wish you'd tell me what happened. No-one throws away flowers unless they're really angry.
DONNA: It just got a bit nasty.
REBECCA: How nasty?
Donna looks as though she's about to cry, but instead of answering Rebecca she takes the chicken soup and decides to eat it afterall. Rebecca sighs and looks on worryingly.
Number 30
Toadie introduces the 'gourmet smuggler' which is basically a coat with a lot of inside pockets to hold chocolate bars. Toadie explains that it's so he doesn't have to pay the inflated prices at the cinema. Elle walks in to ask Lucas something and Toadie shows her. Elle says she could have done with one of those in New York! Toadie comments that she's missing it and wishing she was back there already, but Lucas doesn't think so - not when she has him to come home to! Elle looks awkward.
Toadie, who has been sucking on a drinking tube coming out of his coat thinks he's sprung a leak and leave Elle and Lucas in the kitchen. Lucas wonders what Elle wanted to ask her, but Elle looks like a rabbit in the headlights and asks if she should get some wine.
Charlie's Bar
Elle is buying some cheap wine and Paul can't believe what he's seeing - he's always told her not to buy cheap wine. Elle explains she's doing the budget thing with Lucas and Paul is disappointed she hasn't told him yet. He has a solution to her money problems though.
ELLE: What, jump on a plane?
Paul says that wasn't it, but that she should sell the house to him and Rebecca. She needs the cash and they want a house of their own. Elle thinks about it briefly but explains that she thinks Lucas is enjoying them being on 'level-footing'. Rebecca interrupts them - she wants to speak to Elle.
Paul leaves them to it to draw up the papers. Rebecca tells Elle that she thinks Donna has really been hurt, but Saffron. Elle is confused - she thought things were OK, and Rebecca says they were at the start, but Donna won't talk to her about it. Elle says she'll have a go.
Donna's Room
Donna is staring at the door where her pictures were. Elle comes in and says that Rebecca told her she was redecorating. Elle tells Donna not to let Saffron get to her, whatever it is. Donna tells Elle about a poem they read in English once with Libby and she thought it was good, although everyone else thought it was soppy.
DONNA: There was this line in it: I spread my dreams under your feet, I tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
ELLE: And that's what Saffron's done to you...
DONNA: She didn't tread, she stomped.
Donna tells Elle that Saffron was crazy, that one minute she was her golden girl and the next she'd be yelling at her. So Donna told her she was leaving, and Saffron hit her. Elle tells Donna that's assault and Saffron can't get away with it. She pulls Donna in for a hug, and Donna begins to cry.
DONNA: I just feel so stupid.
Elle comforts her, telling her she's not stupid and that they'll do something about it because she can't get away with treating people like that.
Number 22
Elle and Rebecca are trying to talk Donna into doing something about Saffron, but Donna thinks it's pointless as no-one will believe her.
REBECCA: If you do let this go, you'll be saying what she did was right. Is that how you feel?
Elle doesn't want her to give up on her dreams.
REBECCA: I know it's scary.
ELLE: But you won't be alone. Not ever.
REBECCA: We'll see it through together.
Donna agrees to press charges.
Later
The police officer has got all she needs and leaves, with the promise of investigating it and adding that Donna is very brave. Once she's gone, Donna admits she's worried she's done the wrong thing and that it'll make things worse. But Rebecca and Elle tell her she hasn't and that they're so proud of her. Donna goes to update Ringo.
DONNA: I'm glad to have you back.
ELLE: Good to be back.
Number 30
Elle is worried about leaving Donna but Lucas tells her not to be - Ringo is there and there's nothing like a bit of romance to forget your troubles! Lucas introduces her to his candlelit dinner! Ooooh! And they have the house to themselves. Lucas just wants to show Elle how much he cares for her and he likes that they're level now - it means he can look after her and that they are a team. They kiss. Lucas opens the wine.
Charlie's Bar
Paul is worried that Donna will have to go to court - which won't benefit her at all. He's thinking of writing an exposé on Saffron. Rebecca tells him absolutely not! Good for her! She says that Donna wouldn't like that at all. Paul tells Rebecca the news about the house - how Elle is going to sell it to them. Rebecca thinks that's fantastic and they hug. Toadie tells them to get a room, and Rebecca says they have - a whole house infact! Paul asks Toadie for some help and Toadie hopes it's not for a separation. Paul laughs - no it isn't he needs help regarding Elle selling the house back to them. Toadie thinks that's fantastic news - is Paul going to buy him a drink to celebrate?!
Number 32
Elle enjoyed the meal and Lucas is glad. He's worried Elle isn't telling him everything about New York, though and that she's been playing it down. Elle insists she's not and tells him she was thinking about what he said earlier though. She likes the idea of being looked after, but she's always been independent. Lucas knows that and that's why he loves her, but he's glad the playing field is a bit more level now.
Toadie interrupt them and helps himself to leftovers, Elle looks uneasy. Lucas leaves the room and Toadie congratulates her on the house sale. Elle tells him to keep his voice down and keep it to himself as Lucas doesn't know and she doesn't want him to as he likes the things as they are. Toadie can't believe she's going to lie to him but Elle warns him to stay out of her business.
TOADIE: Fine, but he's going to find out sooner or later. Better that you get in first.
Charlie's Bar
Elle drags Paul to one side. She has condition of the sale - no-one is to know, especially not Lucas.
