Kate leaving the message saying she's quitting the dance classes and the showcase.
Kate prepares brekkie for her siblings and talks them out of coming to watch her dance at the showcase. Sophie looks pleased when Harry says he can now watch her get her award.
The teens are surprised to hear that Donna's quit her job with Saffron. She keeps the reason quiet from them and announces that she is going to be a vet instead! The boys head off and Kate pursues Donna to get the real reason but again she keeps quiet. Declan reappears and gives Donna the signal, so she blindfolds Kate and leads her into the classroom where they've decided to re-enact an episode of So You Think You Can Dance (SOTYCD) as a way of wishing her luck for the showcase.
Like Donna, she can't bear to tell them the truth and heads out of the classroom on the pretence of getting her books but when Declan comes out to check on her, she tells him the truth and the reason behind it. Declan tries to make her see sense and to at least tell her siblings but Kate's mind isn't for changing.
The teens are talking about Kate's dancing prospects if she gets through the showcase when Saffron appears rather annoyed that Donna quit by leaving her a voicemail!
SAFFRON: I will see you at Charlie's at 6 o'clock sharp to discuss your future with my company. Make sure you're there.
After seeing how Saffron was, Zeke and Sunny fully behind Donna quitting and hope she isn't going to meet her. Kate, Ringo and Declan think otherwise, that she should go and see what Saffron wants.
Zeke and Sunny discuss Donna's proposed new career (a vet) and why she isn't suitable for it. As an add-on, Zeke gives her a peck on the cheek and says he is glad her parents are cool about them living together.
Ringo is pushing Donna for the real reason she quit and finally Donna cracks and admits the truth. He urges her to tell Saffron the truth - she simply made a mistake. He forces her to look to the future and the penny drops for Donna - that people will eventually know its stolen when the models are parading up and down the catwalk.
DONNA: I have to tell her.
The Principal introduces herself to the gathered and while she is chatting to them, Harry is surprised to see Kate standing in the background when he arrives as she should be on the way to her showcase. Kate is forced to tell him that she quit because she's where she wants to be.
Commercial break later, Sophie collects her award from the Principal and is lost for words when she spots Kate and Harry at the back. She ignores her award and runs towards them, wanting to know why Kate is there and when Harry tells her that Kate quit, she carry's on running out of the room!
Outside the primary school
Harry and Kate catch up with Sophie she's intent on heading towards the showcase. Kate replies that they don't have enough time to get to the other side of town (where the studio is) but Harry flags down the conveniently passing taxi to take them there.
Kate is trying to phone the studio to say she is coming (and hoping they haven't heard her voicemail!) but she can't get through. The kids don't have enough money to get the all the way, so they are forced to bail out (and run the remainder) when they're reached their limit and the cabbie doesn't fulfil Sophie's plea to take them the rest of the way for free.

The kids have made it with 5 minutes to spare but it's too late - they heard Kate's voicemail plus she wouldn't be warmed up ready to go. Harry does his best to distract Lauren to allow Kate to sneak through.
A now changed Kate exits the changing rooms ready to participate but Jason has the showcase already underway.
Commercial break later Kate puts on her dancing shoes and is all set to join in when Lauren comes in and spots what Kate is about to do. Jason's attention is drawn to Kate pleading her case and he relents to her joining once she's warmed up.
Donna is very nervous ahead of her meeting with Saffron and when Ringo leaves her to it, Saffron presents her with a contract for a part-time fashion assistant. She is surprised when Donna turns her offer down but Donna wants to explain why…
…and two seconds later, Saffron is on the phone to someone barking out instructions to halt the project because it's going to be cheaper than being sued!
Saffron is unamused at Donna stealing a design until Donna reminds her about stealing her skelt idea.
DONNA: What does that make you?
Realising that the bar is watching them, they quieten their voices and Donna pleads again for another chance, reminding Saffron that she described her as a talented designer. Saffron then tells Donna the new plan – the job she initially offered is gone but she can come back and resume her internship on strict probation, which Donna is happy to agree to.

A now warmed up Kate struts her stuff as Harry and Sophie watch on but it doesn't look like Jason is all that impressed with her.
Right enough, when Kate goes to take a drink of water during a quick break Jason allows the dancers, she turns round to see him shaking his head.
Commercial break later and Jason thanks the dancers and it's a case of we'll call you. As everyone is getting ready to depart, he pulls Kate aside to ask why she was late. Kate explains it was due to other commitments and he points out that if she wants to make it in dancing, it should be her number one priority. Jason then goes onto say the only reason she got a chance was because Lauren said she natural talent and asks Kate for an assessment on how she felt it went. She agrees with him in that she was behind but also adds that she wants this more than anything.
Jason then formally gives her the let down speech, pointing out that the other dancers want it just as badly as she does but they turned up on time to give it their all. Kate thanks him for letting her audition and his parting comment to her is that she is good.
Sophie and Harry enter the studio wanting to here how Kate got on. However, Kate's picked up on what Jason has said the wrong way and tells them that she hasn't got what it takes before throwing her shoes away as she walks out of the studio.
Kate all angsty at the responsibility of being the eldest despite Harry's attempt to cheer her up.
Declan trying to offer her some words of wisdom and having them thrown back in his face.
Harry pointing out to Kate nobody will want to know her if she acting this up.
Donna comparing how her dream has turned out unlike Kate's as Kate packs away her dancing gear.
Harry standing up to Kate.
Declan telling Donna to sort her priorities out.
Paul working out that Donna is skiving school.
Saffron ordering Donna back to work.
