Sunny telling Zeke he should come clean with Karl.
Harold's Store
Sunny is trying to persuade Zeke that he needs to come clean with Karl but he is reluctant to tell him because Karl is so excited at his new career and at spending quality time with Zeke.
Number 28
Karl and Susan are having a domestic over the price of organic food when Zeke and Sunny come home. She is thrilled to hear that his radio slot has been extended. Karl chips in too, to say that they are both are proud of him before going on to tell Zeke that he's going to sort out some music to help plug local artists in tomorrow's show. Zeke doesn't look pleased and when Karl goes back to moaning about the groceries, he mutters "I tried" to Sunny.
Charlie's
Elle is reading an email she got back from the NY News about her application to work for them (they are putting it on file and will contact her should anything arise) when Steph comes over to chat. She gives Steph a heads up that they may be getting a lucrative deal coming their way (its down to the final two) for the garage, which Steph is pleased to hear about.
Garage
Lucas grabs the phone from Steph when she is having problems talking to Rod 'Hot Rod' Falzon - he's being sexist by only wanting to talk to the bloke in charge. He seems to know 'Hot Rod' and goes off to talk to him and Steph's attention is drawn to Toadie (and Callum) pulling up in a fancy sports car. He admits its one he's wanted all his life and asks her to give it the once over. She ribs him for having an early mid-life crisis but they leave when Lucas comes out after finishing his call.

Zeke and Karl are strutting their stuff but Zeke is getting frustrated at Karl dominating the show. Eventually Zeke walks out and leaves Karl to it so he takes the opportunity to plug one of Erinsborough's local artists...aka his old band!
Karl heads out of the studio to ask what's annoying Zeke and asks if it's him. Their conversation is interrupted when station manager Mel comes out to ask about the CD Karl put on. Zeke isn't sure what she is going on about but when she turns up the feed and he hears it, he quickly sprints back into the studio to switch it off and resume their more normal music!
Mel enters the studio to hear Karl explaining to Zeke why he was playing the previous song and she asks to talk to them both...now! Out in the corridor, she isn't impressed at Karl playing his own stuff and sacks him!
Garage
Hot Rod appears and drops the keys for his car off with Lucas. They discuss the work to be done as they head inside the garage and Hot Rod thinks that Steph is there for show! Steph informs him that she is actually the manager and while he should discuss things with Lucas and she'll be doing the paperwork. He thinks it's good for a bloke (Lucas) not to be doing admin work, "much more fun keeping your hands dirty" he adds and is unimpressed at Steph suggesting that the brake discs might need machining when they talk about the work required for the car to get its road worthy.
HOT ROD: I'm sure Lucas knows what he is doing.
LUCAS: Yes, we'll have a look at it and call you when it's ready.
HOT ROD: (to Lucas) Good on you mate. (To Steph) And nice neat paperwork if you wouldn't mind.
Steph does her best to restrain herself at those sexist comments. Lucas tells her that Rod is old school and after agreeing with Steph that he is a sexist pig, says for her to just to ignore him.
LUCAS: He's a valued customer.
STEPH: What, that's more important than being polite?
LUCAS: Look business is business Steph, just ignore him and take his money, he's got enough of it.
STEPH: Oh please, I'd rather be treated with respect and have my mates stick up for me too.
Charlie's
Steph is moaning about Lucas to Toadie and Susan when Elle overhears. She doesn't go into details and instead heads off back to the garage to work on Toadie's car.
Elle tells Susan her news - that the NY News are going to be conducting a telephone interview with her that afternoon. Susan is happy for her and hopes that she does well. "You deserve it" Susan adds and agrees to Elle's request to keep it under wraps.
Harold's Store
Steph runs into Hot Rod in the store and he has a dig at her for running a relaxed workshop "if you're here buying chocolate at this time of day". She assures him that the work on his car is under control but he wants to know if Lucas has double checked everything. When Steph replies that she's double checked Lucas' work in her role of garage manager, he wants to know who double checked her work!
HOT ROD: Lucas I hope.
Steph then tells him that she was right; the discs needed machining but needs the go-ahead from him to action the work (the garage outsource the disc work). He begrudgingly gives her the go-ahead but is miffed that the car won't be ready today nor have its road worthy so he can't sell the car that day as hoped. Steph then majorly takes the hump with him when he orders her back to the garage to work on his car.
STEPH: I'm sorry, I don't think I'll be going back there today, I have a hair appointment and my nails have to be done. You know us girls like to look our best for you!
HOT ROD: This is going to cost you.
STEPH: See you Monday Mr Falzon.
He then rings Elle to say he wants to talk to her.

Zeke explains to the listeners why Karl has been fired and asks if it was right for that to happen. Mel doesn't look impressed but the listeners seem to be on Karl's side and listening in at #28, Karl is impressed at Zeke's campaign too.
Sunny arrives and enters the studio after Zeke signals for her to come in. Unfortunately when she sits down, she knocks one of the buttons and the audience (including Karl at #28) hear their conversation! She accuses Zeke of being two faced - when yesterday he was moaning about Karl taking over his show and today he's campaigning to get him back. Zeke concedes that he should have been honest from the start but he can't tell Karl that he's been driving him bonkers!
SUNNY: You can be tactful.
Zeke admits that he genuinely felt sad when Karl got sacked and agrees that he wants him back out of pity and guilt. "That's even worse" Sunny tells him and just at that, Mel comes along to let them know the world can hear their conversation.
Number 28
Zeke and Sunny arrive home to meet a dejected Karl who heard all that they said. He wishes that Zeke had told him the truth; he can take some plain speaking! Zeke then does that and tells Karl that he was really good on the radio station..."but that song, it still sucks."
KARL: (deadpan) Okay. Let me give you a word of advice - when Hendrix debuted they called it dreadful caterwauling. When Dillon went electric they called him a Judas. You have to have a thick skin to be in this business, luckily I've got one.
ZEKE: Hendrix, Dillon and Kennedy eh.
KARL: Mmm. All great artists and all misunderstood.
Zeke finally laughs and Karl has a smile on his face as Mel arrives with news - the audience loved Zeke and Sunny's interaction and she wants Sunny to be Zeke's new on-air partner. Sunny is stunned but wants to know from Zeke what would happen if she stared annoying him like Karl did.
ZEKE: I don't think you'd annoy me and even if you did, I'd have no problem telling you.
SUNNY: (puzzled) Is that a good or bad thing?
ZEKE: Ah, definitely good.
Sunny agree to come on board and Karl comes up with an identity to blend in with Zeke's 'Lost Boy' - she can be 'Found Girl'.
Lassiters Complex
Callum is impressed at Toadie's car especially the noise it makes when they pull up at the complex. Toadie admits that he's really considering putting in an offer. Elle joins them after returning Hot Rod's call by leaving a message for him.
Toadie spots Lucas and Sonya heading towards them and sends Callum off to get a juice. Sonya suggests to Lucas that they head over, although Lucas does so almost reluctantly and Elle isn't impressed at them heading over either.
Sonya makes it known that she is unimpressed at Toadie's proposed new car, so Toadie asks why she doesn't say the same thing to Lucas about his Ute but she assures him that she has.
TOADIE: Just because he's your boyfriend you look the other way?
SONYA: Boyfriend?!
Sonya denies that Lucas is her boyfriend, he's just a friend. "With benefits" Elle mutters but Sonya denies that and eventually Elle and Toadie want the pair of them to come clean about what is going on.
ELLE: Yes we've both got eyes.
SONYA: Well if you must know, I'm Lucas' sponsor at Gamblers Anonymous.
Oops!
Number 30
Toadie is now feeling a prized idiot for jumping to the wrong conclusions as he; Lucas and Elle enter the house. Lucas tells them that it isn't his place to tell anyone that she is a recovering addict. Elle adds that he should have made it clear that they weren't together but Lucas points out that he did, but nobody believed him.
Toadie apologises and wants to know how long Sonya has been in GA but Lucas refuses to answer, so he heads off to call her instead, just to make sure she is okay.
It's now Elle's turn to lie when Lucas asks if there is anything exciting going on but their chat is then interrupted when Hot Rod calls.
Charlie's
Elle comes in to have a go at Steph for insulting Hot Rod even when Steph points out that he is a sexist pig. She isn't listening to that because the garage needs his business. "Its only one customer" Steph remarks but Elle reminds her of their earlier chat and the lucrative deal they're in the running to get.
STEPH: Don't tell me.
ELLE: Yes, yes, yes. Rod Falzon was who I was negotiating with.
STEPH: Oh no.
ELLE: Oh yes! Yes and now he just tells me that the deal is off.
STEPH: I'm so sorry.
ELLE: Well Steph, actions speak louder than words. I'm giving you 24 hours to get that contract back otherwise you're fired.
