Gamblers anonymous meeting
Whilst waiting to go into the GA meeting, Lucas has a daydream/vision of his first trip to GA and telling everyone why he is there. It then takes a twist and turns nasty when Declan (surrounded by non-speaking RSR's - Karl, Toadie, Rebecca and Steph) and Elle start laying into Lucas about what he's done. It cuts back and forth between them basically telling Lucas he is a waste of space and that they want him to get on his bike and leave.
Finally, the group leader interrupts the dream/vision to invite Lucas into the meeting since they are about to start. Lucas is nervous and opts to stay at the back of the hall for rather than in the circle with everyone else but promises to join in when he is ready however, he breaks that promise and does a runner just as the session begins.
Harold's Store
Toadie finishes his call to the police to tell Steph she is officially in the clear over Didge's death. Declan then arrives in the store and Steph wants to tell him but Toadie stops her from doing so (plus Declan walked out) in case Declan then goes and does something stupid. Steph then feels guilty about the trouble Lucas is in but Toadie replies that he is in the clear too - it was Johnno that sabotaged the car.
Charlie's
Elle gets a sermon from Josh about the article she wrote (about Lucas' role in Didge's death) but after looking at the newly arrived Steph, comments that perhaps she went too easy on him! A disappointed Josh tells her that he saw potential in her before walking out of the bar. Elle then gets on her phone and lies to a colleague that Josh gave the article the go ahead.
Number 28
Sunny is trying to help Ringo study by teaching him about mnemonics (where you use letters/rhyme to help remember something) but he doesn't get it even when Karl joins in.
Number 28 (next day)
Ringo comes up with an alternative meaning to MTFF (not Metacarpals, Tibia, Fibula, Femur but Mega Tired Fairly Frustrated) when Karl asks about his studying when he gets up. Karl tries to reassure him that he'll be fine but Ringo thinks otherwise and knocks back Karl's offer of extra study.
Sunny interrupts their chat when she enters the house with the paper - with 'Gambler mechanic causes teen tragedy!' splashed across the front page.
Ramsay Street
Declan is reading Elle's article and shows it to Rebecca. "It never stops does it" he remarks to his mum. She wants them to head inside but just at that, Elle appears to get her newspaper and Lucas exits from #30.
Declan spots Lucas and immediately makes a beeline to him. Rebecca tries to restrain her son but he storms off towards him shouting out if he is proud of himself, that the accident is all his fault and why did he let Steph take the rap. Lucas ignores Declan's questions and instead puts his helmet on and departs from Ramsay Street giving Elle the 'evil eye' as he makes his way down the street. Rebecca shouts out over to Elle to ask what is going on.
Number 26
Elle fills everyone (Paul, Ringo, Rebecca and Declan) in on Johnno and Declan asks if she didn't think to tell them. At her silence, he heads towards the door but Elle stops him momentarily to tell him that Johnno has a bad reputation. Declan replies that he is off to the police station to find out what is happening before he reads it in the newspaper and rejects Ringo's offer of company.
Rebecca quizzes Elle as to why she didn't warn them but Elle replies that she was just doing her job. "Oh really" replies Paul before following it up by asking her how its going which is met by silence from Elle.
Police station
Elle arrives at the station and tries to apologise to Declan but Rebecca remarks that it's too late for that.
A grumpy officer eventually comes out to talk to Declan but it's not what he wanted to hear - they are pursing several leads. She does however promise to let him know if anything happens if he wants to wait and silently Declan nods his head.
Declan then decides to quiz Elle about how she didn't know what Lucas was up to given they lived together but she can't give him the answers he is looking for and is eventually told to go away when she asked if there was anything she could do.
Lucas appears in the reception and after looking at Declan and Rebecca for a few seconds, makes his way out of the station.
Charlie's
Elle is trying to drown herself in coffees when Paul comes by to have a father/daughter chat about what she did. He remarks that her article is pretty small beer for as far as revenge goes by a Robinson! "Its called journalism" she replies to that one, so Paul then reminds her about something she said - "about everybody gets hurt when you play like this."
That shuts Elle up, so Paul asks if she still loves Lucas and at her silence, asks if that is why she is trying to bring him down.
ELLE: Dad, relationship counselling does not suit you.
PAUL: Oh sweetheart come on.
Elle's day just gets better when Josh walks into the bar and hands over her final payslip - he never wants to see her again!
PAUL: (to Josh as he walks out) And how is the circulation going Josh? Have you cracked double figures yet?
Josh doesn't know what to say to that one bar throwing his hands up in the air before exiting the bar.
Number 28
Karl, Sunny and Donna are trying to construct a flat pack with the instructions. Ringo comes to their aid and starts to put it together by ignoring the instructions assisted by the newly arrived Charlie when he arrived with his mum.
Steph asks if anyone has talked to Declan and Ringo replies he has and that Declan had a go at Lucas before Lucas took off on his bike. "Why would Elle write something like that" he asks and Karl and Steph just stare at each other.
Lassiters
Lucas works out which Lassiters room Johnno is in (by calling his number on his mobile) before knocking on the door, lying that its 'room service' to get him to open up.
Lucas remarks when he enters, that he thought Johnno would be keeping a low profile and thrusts the paper into him when Johnno replied "why?" After reading for a bit, Johnno asks to have the room to himself (there is a game going on with 3 others) then tells Lucas he knows nothing about it and adds that the police will believe him too.
After looking over to the table where the 3 gents were, Lucas challenges Johnno to a winner takes all game but is reminded that he still owes money. "And if you win, you can double my debt" Lucas replies to that one.
LUCAS: If I win, you hand yourself in and admit what you've done. Are they high enough stakes for you?
Commercial break over and Johnno loses the game and tells Lucas that his debt is cancelled but Lucas reminds him what they were playing for - he has to turn himself in. "I don't think so" is Johnno's reply to that and as the two men are in a stand-off with each other, the police are let into the room and arrest Johnno.
Police station
Rebecca hugs her son as he wonders what is going on as they sit waiting.
REBECCA: I know, you've been through so much.
DECLAN: And so has Steph.
He asks his mum how she is going and Rebecca replies that Steph will be fine but adds that he should go and see her to talk.
DECLAN: Yes I'd like that. Maybe start by paying her back for the car windows.
REBECCA: That's my boy.
She then reminds him that things won't always be this tough, and that it might be time for a fresh start all round.
REBECCA: You've got your beautiful girl.
DECLAN: Mmm. You've got Paul.
REBECCA: I have.
Declan reminds her that she'll be a married woman in a few weeks to which Rebecca asks if he'll give her away.
DECLAN: I'll never give you away but of course.
"Thanks" Rebecca replies before mother and son share a hug with each other but their moment of happiness is ruined when Johnno arrives at the station.
Number 28
Donna sits sending a message on her computer while Karl wants to try out a theory with Ringo - he wants Ringo to put together a skeleton that is in bits (that is what Ringo was trying and failing to study about).
A wee bit later and Sunny is amazed to find out that the skeleton has been put together expertly and Karl has had his theory proved right - Ringo needs the visuals to help him remember. Ringo is amazed that there is different ways of learning but his confidence has gone up tremendously.
Police station
Steph tells Lucas he should be proud of himself as they wait for news but he doesn't think so. The grumpy officer comes out to tell the gathered (Paul, Lucas, Steph and Toadie have joined the waiting Rebecca and Declan) that they are releasing Johnno and that charges are unlikely. Everyone can't believe it and grumpy officer explains that the footage isn't enough to convict.
REBECCA: This is a joke right?
OFFICER: My superiors have been over the brief.
REBECCA: You do know what this guy's done?
OFFICER: Yes I do.
She promises to let them know of any further developments before disappearing into the bowels of the police station.
An upset Declan says he wants some fresh air and after kissing Indy, heads out of the station.
Outside police station
Declan didn't get far, he's standing waiting for Johnno to exit the station and starts to follow him when he exits the station.
