Recap
Dan fretting because of Zeke doing a piece about the school on Pirate Net then being summoned to see the head of the school council.
Susan telling the Ramsay kids that she took the liberty of telling the Salvo's they were moving into #24.
In a flashback, Paul having an argument with Jill.
Rebecca telling Paul she'll stand by him.
Ringo confirming to Donna that he didn't write the letters to her.
Sunny agreeing with Zeke that she was thinking of someone else (him) when she wrote the letters for Ringo.
There is a minor change in the titles following the Ramsay family's arrival into Ramsay Street - the photo booth shot of Ringo, Zeke and Sunny has been replaced with one of the Ramsay family, everything else is as before.
Number 28
Zeke sneaks up on Sunny as she is raiding the fridge for a midnight feast to surprise her with a fridge date but just as they are going to pash... out comes Ringo from his room (he can't sleep) to join them in the midnight feast much to their annoyance.
Ramsay Street
Sunny and Zeke are talking about their lost kiss moment as they exit the house but the chat ends when Ringo, Donna and Didge join them for the journey to school. They spot the Ramsay family arriving with their belongings and can't resist make a few comments until Didge ticks them off for staring but Donna is ready for her - she's just interested in her new neighbours.
Ringo's friendly waves over is met with a "what you looking at" comment from Harry before they head up the driveway.
DONNA: I guess they think we're the bad guys then?
Donna then remarks that it "would be a whole lot easier if Paul would just 'fess up" and Didge asks that she not repeat that near Declan because Rebecca still thinks Paul is innocent "and if Paul goes down then so does Rebecca."
Harold's Store
Ben asks Dan to sign an excursion consent form and when Dan reads it, he notices that Ben has written his name as Ben Fitzgerald. He questions Ben why he wrote that and Ben explains that he just wants to have the same surname as the two of them. At Dan's silence, he wonders if he's done the wrong thing, and Dan quickly replies no but offers a suggestion - changing the name back to Ben Kirk until they can discuss things with Libby.
Number 24
Kate starts unpacking their belongings and Harry laments that he's fed up being 'the freak show' but she reminds him that they are the newbie's.
Dan arrives to walk them to school and they point out that they haven't a uniform or books. He allows them to omit the uniform for now since play rehearsals are ongoing and those involved are exempt from wearing one. Kate wriggles out of going as she's to get Sophie set up at the primary school but tells Harry he's going and it may help end 'the freak show'.
School
With Ringo, Sunny and Zeke watching, Donna arrives at her locker to find a pressie waiting for her from Ringo but instead she hands it to some random passing kid on the pretence that it's 'be nice to a stranger day'.
Didge and Declan spot Harry as they walk down the corridor she introduces herself. Kyle arrives and after seeing Harry isn't in uniform, makes a crack about his mum not telling him to wear his uniform if he wasn't in the play. Didge tries to get Kyle to go away to save Harry's embarrassment but he doesn't take the hint and Harry replies that he doesn't have a mum. Kyle disappears and Declan points Harry in the direction of the only his classroom and when he leaves, Didge wonders if Declan should tell Harry about how close he is to Paul. Dec replies no because he hopes to make friends with Harry first so that he doesn't hate him.
Play venue
Ooh, the budget has stretched into actually hiring a real hall and not The Community Hall as normal! While the stage is being set up, Dan wants to run through a scene in the changing area involving Sunny and Zeke...the kissing scene! However just as they are about to kiss, Dan stops them to move onto another scene much to their frustration!
Harold's Store
Lou finishes ringing Kate's purchases through the till but she doesn't have enough money and has to put the chocolate back but Lou is in a good mood and tells her to keep it, winking to her "that's it's probably past its used-by date anyway". He then goes one better than that - by giving Kate a job.
Play venue
Dan is happy with the scene Donna has just rehearsed too and takes everyone through to the stage area.
Kyle puts his big foot in it when he interrupts Declan and Harry's conversation to tell Harry that Paul is Declan's stepfather. Declan confirms what Kyle said - that his mum is dating Paul and he doesn't like it when Harry calls Rebecca a "cow". When Harry refuses not to call her a cow, the two boys end up getting into a fight about it but thankfully the returning Dan steps in before it gets serious.
Commercial break later and Dan is forced to let Harry leave the changing room to let things cool down when his mediation doesn't look like working. He then asks Declan to cut Harry some slack and reluctantly Declan agrees to this request.
On the stage, Declan tells Didge he had a run-in with Harry and that she was right, he should have been upfront to him regarding Paul but things will be fine "as long as he pulls his head in" he adds.
Harold's Store
Lou thinks the curse has struck again - the coffee machine isn't working but Kate suggests giving it a clean. Once clean it does indeed work and while Lou thinks the curse has ended, Kate looks over and spots a customer wiping up some split coffee and has a flashback to her mum doing the same.
Play venue
As they wonder through the stage Steph moans to Toadie about the scenery - she isn't impressed with the hideous wallpaper they chose!
Dan talks over with Libby whether it was right to get Harry started at school so early given what happened but she agrees that the time was right. She then reassures Dan that the head of the school council will like the play before going to pick up Ben but he stops her and hands her the consent letter Ben gave him earlier. He repeats to her what he told Ben but Libby is at a loss over what to do.
(Later)
Zeke wants to do some more rehearing with Sunny... just the bit without the words. "This kiss is for good luck" and again just as they are about to kiss, Didge shouts out lights and the whole stage is now illuminated. "I can't do this" is Sunny's comment when she looks out from the stage at where the audience will sit.
Commercial break later, Didge tries to reassure Sunny that she will be fine for the play and gives her some advice over the kiss - just look into Zeke's eyes and she'll not notice anyone else but Sunny is highly sceptical!
Harold's Store
As Kate gets ready to leave, Lou shows her some possible shifts that she can do and she promises to get back to him. Just as she is ready to leave with Sophie, Lou calls her back and Kate goes off on one because she thinks Lou is accusing her of stealing but all he wanted to do was give her a chocolate bar... a bonus for fixing the coffee machine.
Meanwhile at one of the tables, Libby decides its time for a chat with Ben and she begins by reminding him that she loves him. The lad is a bit embarrassed that she is saying it out loud although I'd have been more concerned for my face given that she is squashing Ben's face together! She then brings up the chat he had with Dan and Ben explains the reasoning behind the name change.
BEN: Kirk is the old me, Fitzgerald is the new one.
LIBBY: I just see so much of your dad in you.
BEN: But he isn't here now and Dan is.
Ben spots that his mum is getting upset and apologises for doing the wrong thing with the form and she replies that he didn't. She then gets quite teary and Ben picks up a napkin and dabs the tears away before Libby pulls him forward to kiss his forehead.
Play venue
The audience fill up the rows and in their prime seats, Libby leans over Steph to wish Toadie good luck.
STEPH: No, no, break a leg.
TOADIE: Who cares as long as no-one says Macbeth eh.
STEPH: Toadie!
Too late and it's only afterward that Toadie realises what he's said!
Behind the scenes, the cast (minus Sunny who's gone AWOL) have a good luck hug and Didge sends them off to the dressing room since it's almost curtains up. Sunny comes running in and Didge sends her off to the dressing room too.
Harry appears and Didge ropes him into lending a hand to move some final scenery into position. They start talking about Didge's impending date with motherhood (7 weeks away).
Out in the auditorium, Dan spots the head of the school council arriving and waves to her. Libby fills Steph on who she is and Steph comments about Dan sucking up.
LIBBY: If he wants to keep his job sucking up is essential.
We then go back behind the scenes and Harry is talking to Didge about Rebecca and Paul when Declan arrives wanting to know what they are talking about. "Talking about your mother," is Harry's reply and sensing the tension, Didge acts quickly to get Declan away but he has other ideas and tells Harry to shut up.
Harry isn't shutting up though and asks Declan what is worse - "knocking someone off or covering it up?" Didge tries again to get Declan away but it fails when he reacts to Harry insulting his mum. The two of them end up fighting and it spills out onto the stage in front of the audience! The head of the school council is not impressed and Dan looks like he wants the ground to open up and swallow him as we head into the last commercial break.
Break over and behind the safety curtain, Dan tries to restore order but the boys still want to punch each other's lights out. Harry gets in first by pushing Declan backwards but in doing so, some of the stage scenery is interfered with - and everyone looks on aghast when something falls from on high and knocks Didge to the floor.
Declan is quickly over to her and asks if everything is alright and she replies "no".
