- Rachel blaming Libby for Zeke's death
- Rachel cutting up her bridesmaid's dress
Number 28
Rachel holds up what's left of the dress after her cutting spree just as the family arrive home, shocked at what she's done. Libby tries to assess the damage but Rachel screeches at her to give it back, before changing her mind and throwing it in Libby's face.
LIBBY: (upset) It's ruined.
RACHEL: Everything's ruined thanks to you.
Charlie's Bar
Lucas tells off Paul for setting he and Elle up, but Paul knows the man doth protest too much, especially when he denies Elle's trying to ring him. Lucas storms out in a huff and we switch to a mysterious person's POV. Lucas gives them an appraising elevator look before heading out. Ms Mysterious then 'accidentally' bumps into Paul. He picks up her dropped phone and we see for the first time that it's a buxom woman in a tight red bandage masquerading as a frock.
WOMAN: Fancy buying me a drink? This dress doesn't leave a whole lot of room for loose change.
PAUL: Drumming up business are you?
WOMAN: Oh, I'm not a waitress.
PAUL: Clearly... I mean, where would you keep the tips?
(She giggles)
PAUL: Look thanks, but I don't usually pay for company.
The woman replies that she's not that kind of girl - she's a receptionist - but it doesn't mean she has to dress like one. She flounces outside.
Lassiter's Park
Ty finds Rachel at the lake and says Karl and Susan are freaking out. But Rachel snits that Libby is the one they should be freaking out over. Ty attempts to cheer her up but Rachel just snaps that he's not helping, before softening and thanking him for trying. She holds his hand.
Zeke's Bedroom
Dan leads Libby in to 'speak' with Zeke and get some closure.
Lassiter's Park
Ty warns Rachel that if she keeps bottling up her emotions then she's going to kill herself. Finally giving in, Rachel sobs into Ty's embrace.
Zeke's Bedroom
Libby sits on Zeke's bed while Dan waits outside.
LIBBY: (crying) I keep seeing your face. I remember holding your hand, and I tried to hold on. I really tried, but I couldn't. I'm so sorry. Will you please forgive me?
Dan walks back in and hugs her.
Lassiter's Park
Rachel tells Ty she loves him for the first time.
Number 22
Declan and Didge let Donna and Ringo know that the new family will be arriving next door any minute now. Random Sam randomly lets them know her back's killing her so she won't be joining them. Thanks random Sam! Tegan looks alarmed and says she'll sit out too, but Donna encourages her to check out the newbies.
Ramsay Street
Joining the teens in the welcoming committee are Harold, Lou, Steve, Rebecca (holding a blasted casserole) and Toadie. Everyone is quite stunned when a classic Chrysler drives up - but no one more so than Donna who realises the new #24 tenant is her mother (aka Boobs McGee for anyone who's asleep). After hugging Tegan and Simon, Cassandra Freedman introduces herself to Harold and leaps on him for a cuddle. Drooling, Lou bustles his way in.
LOU: Hi! Hi! Lou Carpenter!
CASSANDRA: Oh, Luke! (She hugs him)
LOU: Ah, Lou.
CASSANDRA: Look at you all, you're all so handsome!
(Steve steps up for a hug & Cass smiles at Rebecca.)
CASSANDRA: Oh I love the dress. Black is so slimming.
REBECCA: ...
Steve helps to collect Cassandra's luggage and Lou isn't far behind.
LOU: Let me help! I've always said that Harold's Salvo idea was a stroke of genius.
HAROLD: Put your tongue back in, Lou.
Meanwhile, Donna is gobsmacked.
DONNA: Mum, what are you doing here?
CASSANDRA: Honey, we're moving in. Thanks to this wonderful man here we have the chance to start again as a family. Yeah? Right here in Ramsay Street.
HAROLD: I'll show you the house then shall I?
CASSANDRA: Bring it on!
She links arms with him and everyone follows them up the driveway, Donna very reluctantly.
Number 24
Miranda rushes in to see if she's missed anything juicy.
LOU: She is like a breath of fresh air.
REBECCA: Ooh yeah, plenty of fresh air underneath that dress.
Harold returns with Cassandra after taking her on a quick tour of the house. She thanks everyone for being so welcoming, admitting she had it rough living with a criminal husband who bailed on her. Donna scowls. Cassandra says that it's a new start for her family, and encourages everyone to call her "Sass". Miranda quietly takes Rebecca aside.
MIRANDA: What do you think?
REBECCA: Jury's out.
(Cass gives Steve a friendly slap on the bum)
REBECCA: (gasping) Jury's in!
Cass comments that "Donatella" has been very quiet. Donna warns her mum not to call her that. Sensing tension, everyone leaves the Freedmans to have family time. Cass asks who Donna's handsome boyfriend is, but Donna angrily tells her mum to stay away from him and wants to know who she scammed to get the house. Simon steps in to defend his mum, but Donna shushes him.
DONNA: (teary) Please don't ruin this for me. They're good people and I'm happy here. I don't want to be run out of town again.
CASS: Darling what makes you think that's going to happen?
DONNA: It's what always happens.
CASS: Do you need a hug? Simon, give your sister a hug.
DONNA: (angry) No I don't need a hug! I just need you to stay out of my life.
CASS: Darling that's not going to happen.
She storms out. Ringo quietly follows.
Number 22
Cass has accompanied Donna to see Elle, living up to that 'not going to leave you alone' threat. Cass doesn't understand why Donna won't move in with them, but Donna wants to stay with Elle. Sam and Paul walk downstairs, Paul mighty surprised to see Ms Mysterious in his house and find out her true identity. Cass says Donna can stay with Elle for now, but she wants to work out their issues "as a family". She glides out and says bye to Ringo, Donna smacking him when he answers. Elle also has to leave but promises Donna they'll talk later.
Number 24
Cass is annoyed that Tegan didn't tell her about "the pregnant woman", but Tegan assures her mum that Sam is still hooked on her ex-hubby. Cass apologises.
CASS: It's just you know how important this is to me. We can't let anything get in the way.
TEGAN: Yeah I know, mum.
CASS: You kids deserve a decent life. And so do I, you know. Without his money we are back to where we started with nothing.
TEGAN: It'll work out. Sam's no competition.
CASS: Well I hope not, for her sake. There's only room for one Mrs Robinson.
Well then. Here's to you.
Ramsay Street
Donna stares at #24; she just knows her mum is up to something. Ringo, meanwhile, thinks Cass seems nice, which enrages Donna further. She knows her mum is coming on to him, "she's got form". Ringo thinks she's being silly and reassures her that she'd never have to worry about that with him.
DONNA: Just stay away from her, OK?! Just please stay away from her.
Harold's Store
Elle stares at the photo board set up for Zeke's memorial while Harold and Lou set up some candles. Lucas walks in and takes Elle aside, grumbling at her.
LUCAS: I'm not a genie. I can't be summoned anytime you feel like it.
ELLE: Don't tell me you feel OK about this?
(Lucas flashes back to them sleeping in the Ute)
LUCAS: (hesitant) About what?
ELLE: About Zeke's memorial!
LUCAS: Oh. Yeah. Of course.
Elle thinks the fruit picker is suss and wants to go back and interrogate him. She also wants to tell Karl and Susan about what they found, but Lucas thinks it's a bad idea. He also has to wonder that if it *is* Zeke, then why hasn't he come home yet? Elle says she's not giving up. Karl and Susan walk in, but Lucas stops Elle from approaching them. Susan compliments the boys on a job well done, just as Rachel and Ty enter the shop. Rachel brusquely double checks that Libby's not coming before helping set the rest of the candles up.
LUCAS: (to Elle) Unless you have proof, keep quiet.
Ramsay Street
Rebecca catches Cass repeatedly trying to get the tie around her dress caught in the car door, but Cass pretends the door is just jammed. Rebecca hides behind a tree and spies on her new neighbour, gaping like a goldfish when Cass kicks the keys under the car. Rebecca's eyes bug out more when Cass calls Paul over for help and asks him to unzip her so she can save her dress and get her spare keys from inside. Bemused, Paul obliges and Cass wriggles out of her dress, giving him a one-way ticket to Boobville courtesy of her barely-there negligee. Rebecca's disgusted.
Number 24
Cass grins when she hears a knock at the door, knowing it's Paul. He pretends he's just there to apologise for assuming she was a hooker earlier, but Cass isn't phased.
CASS: Just as long as you don't think I'm easy.
PAUL: Oh no, I'd never assume anything like that.
She lunges in for a big pash, and I think there's some tongue action. Eww. Breaking it off as quickly as it began, she gives him a light push back and a cheery wave.
CASS: See ya!
Paul's quite confused. The bow-chicka-wow-wow music has a field day.
Harold's Store
Rebecca, Steve, Miranda, Elle, Lucas, Harold, Lou, Susan, Karl, Rachel and Ty are all there for Zeke's memorial. The rest of the teens arrive with a school shirt of Zeke's that everyone at school signed. Rachel's touched and Ty hangs it up on the photo board. Harold gets everyone seated and says they're there to celebrate the life of someone very precious to them all.
HAROLD: A bright shining star that burnt out long before his time.
He invites people to come up and speak and then light a candle in Zeke's memory. Didge goes first.
DIDGE: Zeke always said that if you were going to tell a story, that you should tell it quick or tell it funny. So this is both. It's about the time Zeke caught me naked.
Ringo's VO is heard while Ringo and Declan light some candles.
RINGO: He made me feel like I had someone even when all my family had gone. I just wish it didn't take this to make me realise I had another brother.
Susan tries to hold back tears while she lights a candle.
SUSAN: When Alex died Zeke didn't speak for weeks. It was a difficult time but I took comfort in knowing that even though I couldn't hear his voice, his heart was still with me. And it always will be.
Karl sombrely stands takes his turn just as Libby and Dan walk in. Rachel stares daggers at Libby as she takes a seat.
KARL: Zeke Kinski was one of the finest young men I've ever known. We had our ups and downs, but I'd like to think we made it through that with a very warm and respectful friendship.
Rachel keeps staring at Libby.
Harold's Store
It's Rachel's turn to speak, but she's chosen to sing instead. Except when Ty starts the intro to Unforgettable, Rachel can't get the words out, too overcome with grief. Feeling Rachel's pain, Libby starts to sing for her, slowly walking up to the front to comfort her. Grateful, Rachel accepts Libby's hug (and shows forgiveness) as everyone joins in with the song.
Zeke's Bedroom
Karl, Rachel and Susan sit on Zeke's bed, taking stock of the day. Rachel's upset with herself for not being able to sing properly, but they comfort her and say it's OK. Karl and Rachel go to put the kettle on while Susan folds up a stray t-shirt on the floor. But when she opens a drawer to put it away, a packet of photos falls out of a hiding place. Susan's quite taken aback to see who they're of.
