Hospital
The nurses wheel Charlie into the hospital and ask Steph some questions, while Lucas stays with Charlie. Veronica arrives to treat Charlie, because Karl isn't rostered on. Steph doesn't look too happy about it.
Number 32
Libby and Dan are in the kitchen, Dan pacing around because he doesn't get why they need to send 'pre-invites' to their wedding. He suggests simply sending the invitations earlier.
LIBBY: Just file it under 'Chick Thing'.
The phone rings, it's Steph. Libby doesn't want to answer it, because it'll just be about Greg again, however she eventually gives in.
Hopsital
Veronica is examining Charlie, Steph hovering behind. He needs x-rays to see if his ribs are broken and Steph wants to accompany him. First, though, she has to sign some paperwork however she is reluctant to leave Charlie. She leaves the room and runs into Libby and Dan, who ask about Charlie.
Number 30
Callum and Toadie are dressed up in wrestling gear and Mickey is getting ready to referee their fight. Callum eventually manages to pin Toadie to the ground, to much protesting by Toadie. Callum is proclaimed the winner.
CALLUM: I am unbeatable! I crush my opponents ...
TOADIE: ... like the bugs they are!
CALLUM: Yes, like that!
Toadie starts running through plans for the afternoon with Callum - he has to go to work, so Lou will look after him. Mickey has to call his mum, but not for while because she won't be awake.
CALLUM: Perth's in a different time warp.
MICKEY: Time zone.
CALLUM: Yeah, whatever.
Toadies leaves the room and Mickey starts going on about how cool Toadie is. Callum agrees, except when he wants to talk about feelings or reading. Mickey thinks Callum should be calling him Dad now, but Callum says it's stupid.
Harold's Store
Toadie, Callum and Mickey are brought lunch by Lou.
CALLUM: So, did you order anything for yourself?
TOADIE: Oooh, he thinks he's funny, huh?
CALLUM: Hilarious, actually.
Callum thinks they should be eating vegetables as well, so Toadie starts breaking up their meal into the different food groups. Then Callum suggests doing some reading practise later 'Dad'. Toadie looks awkward and, as Callum and Mickey get up to get a drink, he assures Lou that he's just talking proverbially. Lou isn't so sure.
Lassiter's Complex
Sam, Harold and Miranda have met to discuss ideas for the fundraiser. Sam and Miranda aren't too happy to see one another and keep dismissing the other's ideas. Eventually they decide on a fashion parade and Miranda turns it into a mother/daughter 1970s themed parade. She walks off to organise it, just as Steve joins the group. Sam thinks it's a daggy idea and Harold's not too happy either. They ask Steve to try and talk her out of it.
Hospital
Veronica gets off the phone and gives Charlie the all-clear, but they'll still keep him overnight. She asks Steph a few more quesions and goes off to start Charlie on antibiotics. Steph stops Veronica and apologises for being a mum before, to which Veronica replies that if she had kids, she'd probably be the same.
In come Lucas, Dan and Libby, who are all happy to see that Charlie's okay.
LUCAS: You'll be back in the garage in no time!
STEPH: Aaah, he's so not!
Libby notices Greg over by the reception desk and leaves the room to speak to him. She asks Greg to leave Steph alone, despite him insisting that he came to see Charlie. Libby continues to talk, unaware that Steph is right behind her, listening.
LIBBY: She just doesn't need this. Okay? She's thrown away two careers, chosen idiot after idiot and now she's found another one.
Greg tries to get Libby to stop talking, having realised that Steph is there, but she goes on to say that she doesn't want to be the one to pick up the pieces.
STEPH: Well, it's nice to know what you really think of me!
Hospital
Outside the hospital, Steph chases after Greg. Steph is apologising to Greg for Libby's behaviour, but Greg knows that he shouldn't have barged in. He apologises for messing her life around and goes to leave. But Steph asks him to stay, saying that this doesn't have to be goodbye. Greg disagrees.
Cut to Dan and Libby inside. Libby is still going on about Greg, however Dan is defending Steph. Now Libby starts on her irresponsible actions letting Charlie play in the garage.
DAN: You make a good point, Susan.
LIBBY: (pause) I am not my mother! I just don't want to have to pick up the pieces after this one.
DAN: I think your mum's a good person, Lib. She's also quick to judge.
Veronica comes up and asks after Steph. Libby admits that she's outside and Veronica leaves to find her. Libby is worried about Veronica finding Steph with Greg, but Dan tells her to let it go.
Back to Greg and Steph. Steph has to get back to Charlie, but asks if they can still be friends. However they can't, because Greg is in love with her. Veronica sees them hugging.
VERONICA: When you're done with my husband, I need you permission for a CT scan.
Number 26
Miranda is at the car when she is joined by Steve. They get onto the subject of the fashion parade and Steve is wondering whether that's what everyone wants, however Miranda is set on it. Steve tries a different tact, suggesting that she should widen her audience to include the guys. Miranda loves the new idea.
MIRANDA: 'Dingoes on Parade'. No no no, 'Men of Dingoes'. It's brilliant. We'll get twice the numbers with a male fashion parade, especially when you and the boys get down to swimwear. 'Dingo Men'. I love it!
STEVE: Swimwear?
Number 30
Callum and Mickey are trying to convince Lou to wrestle with them. Toadie arrives home with a surprise - he's a scout leader and Callum is a scout! Callum is a little uncertain about it, so Toadie tries to convince him.
TOADIE: We are a team, right?
CALLUM: A team?
TOADIE: Okay, we are family.
Callum refuses and walks out.
Hospital
Libby and Dan are still talking about Steph when Lucas joins them. Lucas wants to watch Steph and Veronica wrestle outside, but he's too late. Steph walks in, wanting a word with Libby in private. Dan and Lucas leave to check on Charlie. Steph is asking about the things Libby said before, but she stands by them, admitting that Steph's made some strange choices. Steph doesn't agree and goes on to remind Libby of how she treated Lucas and Dan. Steph walks off, leaving Libby looking bewildered.
Hospital
Steph has been talking to Charlie, but she leaves saying she'll be right back. She asks Veronica if she can accompany him to his scan and Veronica agrees. Steph then tries to talk about what happened outside, but Veronica walks off.
Number 30
Callum and Toadie are watching the cricket, Toadie is trying to pick a pizza. Callum thinks he shouldn't always been eating junk food, but Toadie starts joking around.
TOADIE: Mate, what's going on? If you told me, I might be able to help. The truth is, if you told me you wanted the moon, I would seriously think it through. The moon is a large rock about 400,000 kilometres away and available rope, 6m. Hmmm.
Callum wonders why he is always so nutty and Toadie admits he goes nutty when he doesn't know what to do. Callum tells him that he doesn't want a carer, he wants a Dad, because Dad's are forever. Toadie agrees, telling him that they'll need witnesses for 'the contract'.
A little later, Toadie and Callum are now joined by Lou and Mickey.
TOADIE: I, Jarrod 'Toadfish' Rebecchi, do solemnly declare that I will be Callum's dad for as long as I shall live and as declared by Callum...what's your favourite sea creature?
CALLUM: Giant squid!
TOADIE: Aw, nice one! Callum 'Squid' Jones, on this date.
CALLUM: I, Callum 'Squid' Jones, agree to be Toadie's son forever and ever. Amen.
As Lou and Mickey sign the contract as witnesses, Toadie and Squid shake hands. But Toadie says that they're still becoming scouts, to which Callum replies 'whatever'.
TOADIE: Now go and make your old man a cup of tea!
CALLUM: Tell him he's dreaming!
Hospital
Dan is trying to reassure Libby about what she said to Steph. Libby wants to go, but Dan says that she's staying because Steph needs her. Steph walks up and gives them the report on Charlie. Libby tries to apologise, but Steph tells them to go. Charlie starts having a reaction to the antibiotics and Steph starts freaking out when the nurses won't let her in.
Hospital
Dan is telling Lucas about what happened to Charlie and Lucas asks about Libby and Steph. He thinks they'll work it out. When Steph comes back, Dan and Lucas leave to get coffee. Libby asks if there's anything she can do. There is - Steph wants her and Ben out of the house.
