Recap
- Zeke and Ringo buying a dodgy Ute.
- Lucas saving Elle from her exploding car.
- Elle blaming Donna for distracting her.
- Lucas telling Elle that she's been scammed.
- Jason offering Elle money as compensation.
Number 22
Paul fusses over Elle after hearing about the accident, but it doesn't take long for his newspaper editor brain to tick over and he asks Elle if she got any pictures of the wreck. Lucas swings by to reveal that Elle's car was actually two automobiles welded into one. Outraged, Elle tells the boys that she turned down money from Jason the dodgy car dealer earlier but has now changed her mind. They all jump on their mobile phones - Elle to Jason, Lucas to the cops and Paul to the photographer.
Ramsay Street
Ringo and Zeke cruise around in their Ute while Toadie, Callum, Mickey, Steve and Miranda all flock to it like ants to a picnic. Ringo spies Donna across the road and walks over to her while Zeke helplessly asks Toadie how to pop the hood.
Donna (dressed in a mish-mash of clothes - like she covered herself in double-sided tape and ran through her wardrobe with her eyes shut), is quite cool with Ringo, much to Ringo's confusion, and doesn't stay long to chat.
Number 22
Donna has another member of the Robinson clan annoyed with her when Paul discovers that she's been using his expensive brie on her toasted sandwiches (and mixed it in with tomato sauce). He chides her and Donna gets upset.
DONNA: Well I won't be here much longer then you won't have to worry about me disrespecting your cheese anymore!
Charlie's Bar
Elle's startled when Jason finds her and becomes quite menacing about the car. He accuses her of getting the cops involved and tells her that she ought to back off unless she wants someone close to her to meet a sticky (and quite possibly CGI-enhanced) end.
Number 22
Ringo tells Donna to just dump him already if that's what she's planning on doing. But Donna has been acting standoffish because she thought Ringo was only being nice to her because he felt obligated after TITTNL™.
DONNA: I'm sorry. I think that's my problem. I just seem to throw myself at guys and they don't seem to take me seriously at all, and when they try and let me down gently... I thought that's what you were doing.
RINGO: What happened between us makes me want to be there for you more, not less.
DONNA: So you weren't just trying to be nice then?
RINGO: I think if we're going to get along then you're going to have to stop this 'just being nice' business.
DONNA: (smiling) Sorry.
RINGO: I wasn't doing it because I'm nice. I was doing it because you are. I think you're awesome. I want to be with you.
DONNA: Wait, say it again.
RINGO: You're nice.
DONNA: No not that the other thing.
RINGO: You're awesome.
DONNA: Nuh-uh.
RINGO: I want to be with you.
DONNA: Mmm, that's it.
They kiss.
Ramsay Street
Scam-cam (Jason's POV) watches as Ringo and Donna make their way to #28. Elle pulls into the #22 driveway and asks to have a chat with Donna, looking like she's going to apologise for snapping at her, but then says it can wait till later. The teens walk off and Elle suddenly notices Jason smirking at her. Attempting to look defiant, Elle stalks into her house, which doesn't quite work with her limp.
Number 22
Det. Skinner and his two police cronies have showed up to confront Jason (along with Lucas and Paul), but Elle is too scared to tell them about her earlier dealings with the con artist. Det. Skinner shows Elle some photos of crooks they've been keeping on their radar. Elle sees Jason's mug shot but pretends she doesn't recognize anyone - only Lucas notices something amiss.
Number 22
Elle is worried when she can't reach Donna on her mobile. Even more so when she rings Susan and discovers that the teens aren't at #28. Paul heads off to an accounting meeting and Elle concernedly asks if he needs to drive there.
PAUL: Darling, my car is safe. The Europeans love their airbags. Now let's not start getting paranoid about this.
Paul gives her a reassuring kiss on the forehead and leaves. Lucas immediately gets on Elle's case for acting jumpy and soon discovers the threat Jason made to her. Lucas seethes but Elle warns him to stay out of it.
Number 26
Steve sneaks in some potato chips to eat but Miranda snatches them off him and vows to find his secret stash.
Gym
Lucas finds Jason lifting weights and decides to spot him - by pressing the weights down on his chest. He orders Jason to leave Elle alone and shut down his dodgy car business or he'll get the cops involved. The two random extras in the background are silently freaking the hell out throughout this exchange, it's quite funny. Jason squirms and agrees to Lucas' demands, but you can tell it's far from over.
Number 22
Elle leaves another fretful message on Donna's voicemail, apologising for yelling at her. Lucas saunters in and lets Elle know that he took care of Jason, but Elle is far from impressed.
ELLE: Do you have any idea what you have done? He made threats against the people who are closest to me, and now Donna's missing.
Lucas figures that Donna's just out with Ringo somewhere, but Elle is sure that Jason has sought his revenge - and it's all Lucas' fault.
Charlie's Bar
Callum asks about Dan moving out and Toadie thinks he's upset about losing another mentor-figure, but Callum's just after Dan's room.
TOADIE: I think you're pretty well set in your room.
CALLUM: But what if I knock down the wall and super-size it?
TOADIE: That's a good idea.
CALLUM: Really?
TOADIE: No.
Toadie sees Steve eating a sneaky pizza and asks if he can chew his ear (and his delicious edible contraband) sometime about becoming Callum's official guardian - seeing as Steve went through something similar adopting Riley and Didge. Steve happily agrees and Callum makes vampire fangs with his French fries in the background.
Elle and Lucas ask the men if they've seen Donna and Toadie assumes she's gone for a drive in Ringo's new car. Elle and Lucas are aghast when they hear how cheaply Ringo bought it for.
LUCAS: (to Elle) OK, now I'm a little worried.
Number 22
Lucas rings the local hospitals in case Donna has been brought in but no one has seen her. Getting a bright idea, Elle asks how Lucas knew where to find Jason. Lucas explains that his mate knew Jason's girlfriend and where she lived, so Elle springs up and says they're on a mission.
Number 26
Toadie and Callum are letting Steve check over their applications, but tell him they haven't started on their personal bios yet.
STEVE: You're allowed to make it sound good.
CALLUM: Lie?
STEVE: No, not lie, frame it positively.
CALLUM: So I would say I like vegetables instead of potato chips?
TOADIE: That is an excellent example!
Mickey skips in with Miranda and he and Callum rush off to play his new Wii game. Toadie shows Miranda what they've been working on and says he's worried about the home inspection part, cheekily asking if Miranda wouldn't mind casting a "mother's eye" over the place.
TOADIE: It's just to pick up stuff that I might have missed... Or should hide before you come over. Hey do they look under beds? (He freezes) I shouldn't have said that.
Jason's Girlfriend's House
Elle hobbles up to snoop in the front window of the house, with Lucas hot on her heels. They freak out when the phone rings inside and plant themselves against the wall before trying to make a run for it. Realising Elle's in no fit state, Lucas hoists her over his shoulders and runs to a shed at the bottom of the garden.
Once safely inside she hits him and growls that he could have asked her first, but Lucas laughs and asks where the fun in that would be. Noticing something, she hits Lucas again to point out that Ringo's old car Bessie is hidden in the shed.
Jason's Girlfriend's House/Number 22
Snooping around, Elle finds a bunch of paper work for old cars that Jason has welded together just like hers. Suddenly, Elle's mobile rings, garnering the attention of Jason's girlfriend, who has decided to conveniently bring the washing in. Elle answers in hushed tones to Donna, who has been out driving with Ringo all day with the stereo blaring. Elle panics when Donna reveals that Jason is in the house with them - he gave them a tow when the Ute broke down.
ELLE: Donna listen, you have to get him out of the house. He is dangerous, the car is stolen.
(Donna whirls her head around to look at Jason)
RINGO: What's up?
DONNA: Uh, nothing, a friend wants to check out your new car. (To Elle) I'll get back when I've sorted it out with Ringo, OK?
Elle hangs up and tells Lucas that Jason is in her house. The girlfriend finally decides to check out the shed, but only to secure the padlock on the door, believing that Jason has left it unlocked. Lucas and Elle are trapped.
