Hospital
Nicola staggers outside in a daze, knocking into random extras. Inside the hospital the staff are fighting to keep Steve alive. Toadie puts a comforting arm around Miranda who is pacing the corridor.
Outside, Nicola bumps into Didge and Declan and scares Didge when she sobs that Steve's gone. Didge frantically runs into the hospital and orders Declan to restrain her aunt. Declan struggles to hold on as Nicola puts up a fight.
Didge finds her mum and hugs her, distraught over her dad, but is confused when the doctor emerges from Steve's room and says he's going to be OK. They rush in to see him.
Declan is trying to call the police while keeping a hold of Nicola, but she keeps screaming out for help. A do-gooder comes along and demands Declan let Nicola go. Forced into it, Declan reluctantly complies but snarls that the do-gooder has no idea what he's just done. Nicola sprints away as fast as she can.
The doctor informs the Parkers that Steve's in a stable condition, but Miranda is more interested to learn that Nicola was at the hospital. Declan arrives with the bad news that Nicola has vamoosed. Miranda isn't sure that the cops will have enough to charge her sister with, and Toadie agrees that they'll need more substantial evidence. Getting a bright idea, Didge angrily drags Declan away to "do the cops' job for them".
Number 32
Rach has brought Ty muffins and coffee (comfort food), but it's going to take a lot more than snacks to pull Ty out of his wrist injury funk. Rachel tries to get him interested in playing music, but Ty decides to lay kisses on her instead. Rach can see that he's being evasive and pushes the guitar idea further, but Ty tells her to drop it - he's just not in the mood to make sweet, sweet music.

UGLY SHIRT ALERT. Victim sighted: Ringo Brown. Possible cause: raiding Max Hoyland's old wardrobe.
Zeke and Ringo are quite upset after seeing Steve at the hospital, but Donna is too busy wittering on about party games for Elle's secret shindig. Zeke calls her out on her insensitiveness, but Donna claims the party will be a welcome distraction.
DONNA: Don't take it personally but it's strictly for Elle's friends.
ZEKE: Where are you going to have it? In a shoebox?
Ringo wonders why Donna's besties with Elle all of a sudden, but Donna explains that Elle's really cool once you get to know her. Rachel storms in and demands that Ringo go over to Ty's and apologise to him for crushing his wrist. Ringo thinks the whole idea is a bit girly, but Rachel could care less and drags him outside.
ZEKE: (calling out) Just tell him that you care!
RINGO: Shut up, Zeke.
Number 32
Ty attempts to play his guitar but can't bend his wrist properly to play the chords. Ringo arrives with a 'Fast And The Furious' DVD boxset to watch as way of an apology, but Ty isn't interested. Ringo then tries to give him a pep talk littered with footy lingo, but Ty curtly reminds him that footy isn't his life and a few dumb clichés aren't going to make his wrist better.
General Store
Rachel is annoyed that Ringo didn't try harder with Ty.
RACHEL: Did you actually say to him, 'Hey Ty, I'm sorry that I wrecked your hand'?
ZEKE: Y'know that sounds a lot like, 'Hey Ty, I'm sorry that I hit you over the head with a cricket bat'.
RACHEL Yeah well at least I did apologise.
Ringo admits he felt like a tool, but Donna doesn't think that matters. She knows they think she's an idiot, but she doesn't see the problem in making a fool of herself.
DONNA: (conceding) Yes, sometimes it's not alright if you have to end up calling the fire brigade... And I mean, stalking's never OK, even if the guy is amazingly hot... But if it's for a friend, isn't feeling like a tool kind of worth it?
Ringo and Rachel look thoughtful until Donna suddenly yells out...
DONNA: Spin the bottle! Elle will totally love that!
She hastily scribbles down the idea while Zeke chuckles to himself.
Dingoes Locker Room
Didge is slamming her way through all of the lockers, looking for the plastic takeaway container that Nicola's lasagne was in. Without even raising a sweat, Declan spies the towel trolley, looks underneath and finds the container that seemed to have eluded the Erinsborough police. God they suck.
Hospital
Didge and Declan show the container to Miranda and Toadie and Didge explains that Ringo saw Steve eating out of it. Toadie wants to take it to the police, but Miranda suddenly decides she's above the law and grabs it off him: she's going to confront Nicola herself. Yes, because that's worked so well in the past.
Number 30
Nicola sneaks in and calls out for Bronte. Spying Toadie's briefcase on the table, she steals his wallet and chequebook just as Callum walks in. Apparently he was over at "Mrs Kink-skis" and came back to get his DS.
NICOLA: Do you know where Bronte is, Cal?
CALLUM: I thought you didn't know who she was?
NICOLA: I have to leave.
CALLUM: Why? The cops were here looking for you.
NICOLA: Yeah I'll give them a call. Cal, I'm really going to miss you.
CALLUM: (backing away) When I found my mum stealing money from my piggybank, that's what she said too.
(Nicola looks upset)
CALLUM: (showing her the door) You said you were going?
Nicola sadly walks out and poor Callum looks miserable.
Number 26
Nicola makes a risky move in searching for Bronte in the house, and is worried when Miranda calmly leads the dog in from the backyard. Miranda pretends that she fed Bronte the leftover lasagne and cons Nicola into confessing that she poisoned Steve. Nicola begs her sister not to hurt Bronte, but Miranda shoves the lead into her hands and says she would never do it, "Not everyone's like you".
Hospital
Nurse Jodie encourages Didge and Declan to talk to Steve. Didge is unsure of what to say, so Declan quietly starts to sing the Dingoes team song. Giving him a watery smile, Didge joins in (earning a hilarious, 'WTF's going on?' look from the random doctor extra in the background).
Number 26
Miranda calls the police while Nicola sits silently on the couch patting Bronte. Blotchy-eyed and tired, Nicola claims that Miranda never loved her and did everything she could to shove her "perfect life" in her face.
MIRANDA: I had leukaemia. I couldn't have kids.
NICOLA: How did you survive?
MIRANDA: Don't go there.
NICOLA: (more forceful) How did you survive? Who gave you the bone marrow that kept you alive?
MIRANDA: You were just a baby.
NICOLA: I was a kid, Miranda, and it hurt.
MIRANDA: You are not putting this on me!
NICOLA: (scathing) Poor, sick Princess Miranda. I'm just spare parts.
MIRANDA: Don't give me that.
NICOLA: I wouldn't have even been here if you hadn't have been sick.
MIRANDA: And that excuses everything does it? Riley? Steve?
Nicola decides it's time to leave but Miranda won't let her. Another struggle ensues but this time Nicola is the victorious one as she shoves her sister to the ground. Looking back, Nicola sees that Miranda's not moving but she just keeps on running out the door.
Number 26
Miranda woozily stirs and clutches her head in pain. Hearing police sirens outside, she makes her way out the door.
Ramsay Street
Everything's in slow-mo as Miranda walks out to find that the police have captured Nicola, who is screaming and struggling with all her might. Callum stands out the front of #30 and stares at her, while Rachel, Ringo, Zeke and Donna (lugging band equipment) also stop to watch in concern. One of the officers asks Miranda to verify if they've got the right person (where's Sgt. Joanna "Are you Darcy Tyler" Douglas when you need her?).
MIRANDA: (faintly) That's her.
NICOLA: Panda?
But Miranda just turns her back and walks away. Nicola sees Toadie emerge from #30 and calls out to him, her only lifeline. Nicola looks happy when it appears that Toadie's heading towards her, but he's only moving forward to stand with Callum. Everyone quietly looks on as Nicola's driven away in the police car.
That evening, Rachel coaxes Ty out of #32 where the other teens have set up an impromptu band on the front lawn (Ringo and Donna on guitar, Zeke on the drums - or should that be 'drum', singular). Their lame attempts at music are supposed to cheer Ty up but it has the opposite effect on him and he sulkily turns around to go back inside. Yes, lets flaunt the fact that Ty can't play music in his face. What a BRILLIANT idea, teen gang! Kudos!
Hospital
Miranda has just finished telling Didge and Declan about Nicola's arrest and the fact that the cops believe she's insane. Frustrated that Steve hasn't woken up yet, Miranda walks over and gives her hubby a stern talking to. When that fails to work, she takes his hand and pleads with him to wake up. Miraculously, Steve gives Miranda's hand a squeeze. Didge rushes over to see for herself as they keep encouraging him to wake up. Declan grins at them.
Police Interview Room
The camera wonkily pans around the room, coming to rest on Nicola who is looking even more dazed and confused than usual. A copper walks in and lets her know that Det. Skinner will be along shortly for the interview.
COP: Would you like something to drink? Nicola? Are you OK?
NICOLA: (eerily calm) I don't know why you keep calling me that. Nicola is my sister. My name is Miranda Parker, and please, I would like to speak to my husband, Steve.
