Number 30
Libby escapes to the kitchen to get a glass of water and Dan follows her and begins to kiss her neck seductively. She thinks it's just going to be like before but Dan reassures her this time it is different and they start pashing.
Charlie's
Pete comes looking for Paul not happy that this story hasn't been used properly, just a small snippet inside rather than a front page splash he was expecting. Just at that Elle arrives and is forced to stay despite wanting to do a u-turn before being spotted by her dad.
Number 30
Libby calls a halt to the pashing so that she can talk to Dan about them but he'd rather keep pashing. Eventually she manages to stop him, saying that she wants to enjoy this part of their relationship.
DAN: Can we still meet behind the bike sheds for a quick pash?
Libby: Yes of course, I'll sneak out my window.
They agree to go out that afternoon but Libby isn't too fussed as to the venue as long as it ends in a pash!
Number 32
Libby plays it cool when Steph comes in to talk to her about the job interview but eventually the smile on her face gives her away.
STEPH: Alright Kennedy, what's going on?
Number 30
Dan is playing things equally cool with Toadie and when he asks Dan what happened today he replies "not much".
Number 32
Libby has obviously told Steph and cue happy hugs between the ladies as Susan and Rachel enter the house.
SUSAN: What's the joke?
STEPH: Ah, Dan pashed her face off.
Rachel does the 'I don't want to know' routine while Susan wants to know how the kiss was and while Libby tries to play it very cool, two seconds later she is doing a happy dance announcing that "it was fantastic".
Number 30
At Toadie's asking, Dan tells him that Nicola has left town for a few days so she can clear her head. Toadie invites him to play Star Wars and he nonchalantly replies back that he can't because he is going on a date with Libby. Upon hearing that, Toadie literally spits out the OJ he was trying to drink thought shock.
Number 32
Libby his having a panic attack over what she is going to wear and runs off into her room.
Number 30
Dan is telling Toadie about the date - lunch with drinks wearing casual...ish dress. He refuses to answer when the pashing is going to take place but Callum hands him some breath mints just in case. Toadie asks how he's going with the whole Lucas thing. "Mate, Lucas isn't even on my radar," he replies before making it clear that the subject is closed.
Number 32
Libby settles on a dress to wear and Susan mentions if Lucas knows she is going out with Dan. "I haven't really thought about it," she replies before adding "he'll be fine... after a while."
Libby decides that the dress isn't suitable and while she runs off to change, Steph asks Susan if she really had to mention Lucas.
SUSAN: Well, someone had to say it. You can't pretend Lucas and Sam never happened.
STEPH: Yeah, but let her be happy for at least 5 minutes.
SUSAN: Yeah, I know, of course; I just want her to be careful.
STEPH: Susan she's spent her whole life being careful. This is a breakthrough, I've not seen her this happy in ages.
We then cut to Libby's room where she's got on another dress but is crying because her shoe has a broken heel. Susan and Steph come in and offer her sympathy and reassurance when Libby admits that she is scared.
STEPH: Of course it is. Hey, it wouldn't be as exciting if it wasn't a little bit scary.
Libby: Yeah, but this is our last chance to get it right.
STEPH: Just relax okay. Everyone has a wardrobe malfunction from time to time.
Steph goes to the shoe rack to get Libby a new pair of shoes and Susan points out that Dan won't be looking at her shoes!
Libby: I'll probably be looking at my shoes instead of at him!
Steph finds a pair of shoes for Libby (she'd bought 2 pairs of the same shoes) and gives her friend a reassuring hug.
Charlie's
Paul tells Pete that he'll look into his claims and get back to him that afternoon. He leaves and Paul quizzes Elle about what happened and she reveals that it wasn't the newspaper that paid Pete but Susan. Paul is miffed because she is siding with Susan against him.
ELLE: I'm not siding with anyone; I was trying to do the right thing.
Paul wants to know why Elle didn't come to him and she asks what he would have done. He replies that the story would have been printed because it's in the public interest.
ELLE: You mean it will sell more papers?
PAUL: Alright, that too yes.
Paul isn't willing to listen to Elle's reasoning and calls the office to get the ball rolling starting with someone getting a photo of Pete.
Number 32
Libby is still fretting, this time about her make up and what she is going to say to Dan. Steph tells her to think of a distraction.
Libby: Can't we just fast-forward to the kiss at the end? I'm never worried when he's kissing me.
Steph tells her to use that as her distraction - to imagine him kissing her... or better still imagine him naked!
Libby: Stephanie!
STEPH: If you don't I will. Just close your eyes.
As Steph is visualising, Libby is trying to get her to stop but Dan's knock on the door brings them back to earth. Libby runs into her room and Steph answers the door, teasing Dan for not bringing flowers. They make small talk before Steph issues him with a warning:
STEPH: You hurt her; I'll gut you like a fish.
Libby makes her appearance and Dan is gobsmacked before the two of them depart.
Riva restaurant, St Kilda
Libby is pleased with the choice of venue because she's always wanted to go there and after he teases her, tells him that she will order lobster.
DAN: Only the best for Libby Kennedy.
Libby: I've already got the best.
They walk into the restaurant and inside Libby is most impressed. Both seem a bit nervous and when Libby receives a text from Ben, he reassures her that Ben will always be her #1 priority and isn't going to get in the way of that.
Libby: Are you kidding? He'd be happy for you to get in the way as often as possible.
DAN: You think?
Libby: Yeah he thinks you're a superhero! Haven't established which one yet, but definitely one in tights.
DAN: Huh, funny.
They decide to order drinks then have a laugh when a waiter brings over a happy 50th birthday cake by mistake and she teases him that he's been lying about his age!
Erinsborough News
Susan reports as instructed and Paul is straight on the warpath. She tells him that Elle is innocent; she was protecting Karl and Nicola.
PAUL: Oh, how very noble of you. Well maybe the four of you can workshop a few headlines while you're unemployed! How's this one - 'Dodgy Doctor in the house'.
Paul heads off to his office with Susan in hot pursuit telling him that he can't print the story. Elle replies saying that Pete is a criminal after a payout from the hospital when Paul asks for a reason why he shouldn't print. Susan adds that he's got a vendetta against the Parker family... and anyone else that gets in his way.
SUSAN: He's using you to ruin people's lives.
"Not good enough," replies Paul so Susan tries asking him to think about Nicola and what she is going through and for that Paul just about bites her head off, accusing her of wanting to protect Karl and his career. Susan points out that they've fulfilled their obligations - they paid him and ran the story.
PAUL: Yeah, yeah, some trivial column about an unnamed hospital investigation, whilst you sabotaged a front page exclusive.
Elle butts in and tries to get him to check out the legal perspective, saying they might not be able to print anything given Pete is taking legal action against the hospital.
PAUL: Elle, one word for you - 'alleged'.
Susan begs him to let Pete get his justice through the hospital but Paul is having none of it - he wants the story on the front page.
Riva restaurant, St Kilda
Just as it looks like the lovebirds are talking about a neutral subject (the footy match), Lucas' name is brought up. Cue silent awkward moment and Libby remembers what Steph said to her and next we see her visualising him naked.
They resume their silent eating and Dan hears Lucas in the background and decides to visit the little boy's room. As he walks away, the waiter comes over to adjust his napkin but Dan visualises him to be Lucas.
(Later)
The meal finished, the lovebirds walk on the path outside the restaurant and after Libby gets herself tongue-tied, she asks for a minute. She tells him about her visualising him naked, but only from the waist up!
DAN: So how was it?
Libby explains to him why - that the only time she wasn't worried was when she kissed him and Steph's suggestion - but he silences her with a kiss.
Erinsborough News
Pete is getting his photo taken and Paul is all smug at the thought of getting a front page exclusive.
Susan (after telling Paul that she's taken legal advice) asks him again to hold off until the hospital has finished their enquiries. Elle backs that up by saying he's leaving himself open to a lawsuit if the hospital have cleared Karl and Nicola.
Pete has appeared at the office door and butts in to say that they won't be cleared.
ELLE: You're going to take his word for it?
Pete reminds them that he has a deal but after a pause and a few raised eyebrows, Paul informs him that the deal is off because he can't risk a lawsuit. As he exits Paul's office, Pete doesn't look happy.
(Later)
As Susan and Elle make their way out of the offices, Susan admits that she is glad it's all over.
ELLE: The next time you have a dilemma, please don't involve me I'd like to keep my job and the relationship with my father.
Elle offers to drive Susan home and as they buckle up, there is an extra passenger - Pete! He tells her to drive and while Elle wants to ignore him, Susan can see that he's serious and that she should do what Pete says.
