Rebecchi/Cammeniti Law Firm
Toadie is in a panic trying to sort out the paperwork for handing over to Susan's new lawyer and speak of the devil, Rebecca shows Catherine Michael into the office. All three of them exchange pleasantries before they get straight down to business.
Marco looks through Carmy's handbag for Rosie's number and comes across her purse which has a picture of herself and Ollie in it.
Rebecchi/Cammeniti Law Firm
Catherine goes through the case notes but isn't too thrilled at what she sees so sets Rosie "homework" and ordering Toadie to get Susan to the offices with details of a fully detailed medical history. Toadie starts to brief Catherine on Susan while Rosie steps out to take a call - its about Carmy and she leaves straight away for the hospital, apologising for rushing out.
No. 26
Miranda is back and welcomes Steve and Didge as they arrive home and tell her about the guinea pigs and how Didge helped deliver them. The two of them break the news to Miranda that Didge isn't back to school and she seems miffed that nobody said anything during her daily calls when she was away and wants that resolved sooner rather than later despite Steve saying they should go easy.
The General Store
Valda is surfing her website but is having problems with links and is getting nowhere on the phone so asks Zeke for his help.
Steve and Miranda come in and are still talking about Didge not being back at school and he subtly suggests having a word with the Year 11 co-ordinator, who just so happens to be Susan Kinski.
Zeke has a look at Valda's website and it sounds like bad news, which she wants kept quiet (from Lou!) until it is resolved.
Dr Olenski performs an ultrasound and diagnosis a common pregnancy problem of placenta previa (the placenta is in the lower segment of the uterus and covers part or all of the cervix - bet you didn't know that!) but it may cause her some pain and bleeding. Carmy attempts but fails to get teary even when Olenski relays the info that she is carrying a girl.
Ollie and Rosie come in and leave Marco feeling like a spare part as he is pushed into the background as Carmy tells them everything is fine.
After the break, Olenski tells Carmy that she'll be kept in for a bit for observation before being sent home for lots of bed rest, which Rosie and Oliver are up to providing.
Out in the corridor, Ollie thanks Marco before sending him home, reaffirming that it is his baby Carmy is carrying.
Rebecchi/Cammeniti Law Firm
Catherine isn't amused at Rosie not being back from the hospital even when Toadie explains things, instead asking him if Rosie intends on having children. Thankfully he avoids answering when Rebecca announces that Karl and Susan have arrived and shows them into the office.
Catherine wastes no time in getting straight into it and asks Susan if she has any medical reason why she can't remember knocking Didge down. Susan firmly replies "no" when asked if she'd been drinking and Karl is stunned when she starts asking Susan if she has a drug problem now or previously! Catherine explains that if she needs all the info and the circumstances if she is to help Susan.
Ollie tries to get Carmy off of asking about Marco but he is soon thinking about other things when Carmy presses is hand against the baby kicking away inside of her.
OLLIE: We're going to be parents.
Ramsay Street
Karl and Susan arrive home just as Didge and Steve do and although Didge waves to them, Steve has his scowly face on now Miranda is back in town as all parties head into their respective houses.
Valda is still having problems trying to talk to someone about her website as Lou supervises boxes of snowdomes? being unloaded and taken into No. 24. Valda is curious over what is going on and Lou remarks that she isn't the only one to get into online selling.
Ringwood aquatic centre
Didge gets talking to someone else (Josh) as she hangs on at the side and seems quite taken with him following their brief chat as he swims away.
No. 28
Susan expresses her concerns to Karl for Didge having to give evidence in court being cross-examined by Catherine before answering the door...to Miranda. She is round to talk about the work Didge is missing at school and it is all very formal and by the book, nothing warming at all. Susan replies that the wheels are in motion already to get work to Didge and volunteers to personally go over some work she has prepared with her and Miranda is almost looking for excuses not to accept her offer, in the end replying that she'll see what Bridget wants.
Susan personally tells her about changing her plea and why she did it but Miranda isn't thawing or warming up and leaves as quickly as she can.
Once Miranda leaves, Karl tells Susan that she should watch what she says to any of the Parker's since they are witnesses for the prosecution.
Ringwood aquatic centre
Ringo arrives and before getting in the pool, reads about appetite suppressants he's printed off from an internet site called ultrapowerslim.com.
Josh comes up to where Didge is and Didge asks if he lives locally and eventually he replies that he came down from Brisbane and is living in Eden Hills. She replies that she is originally from Sydney before a whistle blows and he swims over to the side of the pool and out into a waiting wheelchair. Didge can't take her eyes off him although he looks a bit disappointed when she sees him being pushed away in the wheelchair.
Rebecchi/Cammeniti Law Firm
Catherine and Toadie talk about the case and if Susan is really prepared or not and puts into words what Toadie is trying to say, "She thinks she is guilty." She isn't happy that Susan hasn't been 'drilled' and 'ticks' him off for that before telling him to sort it.
Rosie arrives back and Catherine almost ignores why she has been away to get back onto Susan's case.
The General Store
Valda has finally caught up with Jude from the internet company and he understands her frustration about the website and promises her that the company is doing its best to sort them out. She half-heartedly believes him as he adds he has just as much to lose as she does.
Ringwood aquatic centre
Didge and Josh move alone the side of the pool and he gets her to open up about her prognosis. Once she does, he reminds her it is better than his and before they part adds that she mustn't hide herself away and he'll see her the next time.
Rebecchi/Cammeniti Law Firm
Rosie apologises for not being able to do the work she set earlier and is stunned when she is told to go home. Realising something is up, asks if Catherine has a problem with her, which she denies before bringing up what she asked Toadie earlier (if Rosie planned on having children and Toadie replying that it was a probability). Rosie is not amused at her personal business being discussed and reinforces that she can handle business and family life.
CATHERINE: Rosetta the law is a boys club. We are under-represented on the various benches and at senior counsel. The truth is that every competitive male lawyer and barrister is just waiting for the girls to run off and have children and leave the best cases for them. You can't have it all and until you realise that you just make it harder for the rest of us.
Ouch! Someone not mincing their words!
Marco arrives with some pink flowers for Carmy but is again pushed out of favour when Ollie arrives with a jar of pickled onions for her. Ollie takes delight in telling Marco pink isn't Carmy's favourite colour and is stunned when Marco replies that she'll need to get used to it because she is having a girl! Oops!
Marco is full of apologies for putting his foot in it big style and Ollie sarcastically asks if there is anything else! The two males then have a barney over how long Marco stayed at the hospital for before Ollie wants to know what his story is. Marco denies that there is one and Ollie demands to know why he is trying to pick up a pregnant chick and is he that desperate! Carmy is not amused.
